You know guys, it's not very expendsive to get a semi-good 3-d card these days,
GeForce3 Ti 200:
256-bit
128-bit DDR
2.8 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
700 Billion
6.4GB/Sec.
For something like $60-70?
Geforce FX 5200
128mb DDR ram
I don't remember the specs, but it beats those easy.
$55(whitebox)
P.S. Why was that post deleted?
I can't find any good deals on the net XB
At sometime or another we have to leave all the people with OLD computers and hardware in the dust...A voodoo is not execpted anymore...
Pricewatch (http://www.pricewatch.com/)
Some of the best prices on the net(for PCs, parts, and software).
It's just an advertising site, so I reccemend checking on the companys policies(in case something goes wrong).
Tiger Direct (http://www.tigerdirect.com/)
If you want to be sure that if something goes wrong, you won't have to worry about it(you'll get a refund, or a replacement), try TigerDirect.
I would like to dedicate a thread to my beloved ATi X800.
Currently the fastest, most powerful card on the market... ;D
Just bought it on the weekend.
And example of it's POEWR!
I can run Doom3 in 1280x1024 with Ultra High settings and with full screen antialiasing and anisotropic filtering set to 16x.... I get dam good frame rates with those settings...
Now everyone can go ..... "oooooooooooohhhh aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh" and start drooling like silly little children staring at some candy! 8)
;D
oooooooooooohhhh aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!
*droolz* :sweating: :sweating: :P
*Doesnt care* :P
I would care if it helped with something more interesting than DOOM. :D
Peace & Luv, Liz
I dont care anyway :-\, i havent experienced it so i dont know what im missing :D
I'm sure I'd care if I knew what any of that meant... :P
I love looking back at threads like these years from now. Seeing Grundy drool over his ATI X800 when in a year from now the most powerful card on the market is an ATI X8000. :P
It may be candy now, but in a year's time it'll turn into the stale candy you'd find at your grandmother's house. ;-D
hmmm, my grandmother has nice candies!! :D
:X :X :X
;P
:o :o :o
:'( :'(
LOL!
I laugh at others misfortunes :P, i mean poor Rob :(, cheer up ;D
some ppl are soooo mean ::) :D :P
Don't mind if you don't care about Doom3... I was just using it as an example... but imagine running KQ9 with full effects on, 1280x1024 antialiasing? sound better?! ;D
But by the time this card is 'stale', I'll have the X8000 running anyway. ;)

I don't know...maybe because I haven't played KQ9!
I was being facetious, Grundy. ;) As long as a game is fun, and the graphics are clear enough to discern everything you need to pick out during play, I could care less beyond that, at least in terms of fancy-schmancy effects.
Peace & Luv, Liz
Yeah. I don't see why someone would care, if an adventure game ran at 120FPS. :P

That would so give me seizures (seizures, not Cesars). :P
I think the nominal FPS for TV, movies and games is 25-30 anyway. ;D
EDIT: I just read the human eye can't perceive anything higher than 72 FPS. ;D
It's still good for bragging rights. XD
P.S. 30FPS(frames per second), as far as I'm concerned, isn't good if your playing an FPS(first-person shooter) online(or over a LAN).
So TV/Movie speed isn't good enough for you shooter folks? XD

Not if you plan on dodging that bullet flying at you. XD
:o But the heroes in all those kung-fu movies are great at dodging bullets!

They were seeing more FPS(frames per second), when they dodged them. :scholar:
I won't be drooling over that card... I don't play any games that would take advantage of its abilities :-\

Same difference :P
