correct, you could read the interview done by the Inventory #14 where Cesar actually explains in detail about this

Good, cuz Mask Of Eternity got really annoying with all the camera angles and buttons to press. I like the old KQ games where u enter the commands for them to do stuff.

makes it harder. plus it upgrades your typing abilities.

Artificially harder, IMHO, in that the difficulty comes not from figuring out the solution to a puzzle, where it should be, but figuring out how to tell the game your solution, instead. I grew up with text adventures, and I still prefer PnC ones. :P

I like the old typing games. I don't know if I like typing or PnC more. I think I'd prefer the choice. Don't ask me why, just sounds fun to me.

P.S. Yes, I know KQ9's going to be "point and click."

Typing games required a different level of skill.  But the puzzles themselves were somewhat "easier" because of the language difficulty.

For example: "open cupboard", "look cupboard", "get key", "unlock door" would be one puzzle; but in a PnC game, the cupboard with the key and the door that unlocks with that key, are usually not in the same room.

You mean, This game? (http://homestarrunner.com/dungeonman.html)
The name is different, but it's the only one text-adventure I could find (without looking too hard) :P

I enjoyed text and point & click. I gave a friend a copy of KQI and he had tons of trouble with it. He would type full sentences open the door instead of open door. he even tried. walk across the bridge ::) he has spelling problems too so he often got the message: I don't understand "kill ogerr"

I thought Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Love for Sail was interesting in that you could type as well as point-and-click. But, if I recall, there were some things that you had to type and could not accomplish by simply clicking. I'm not sure I like the idea of it being mandatory to do both.
