Title: Archiving The Four Winds
Post by: GrahamRocks! on July 19, 2019, 07:07:54 AM
This is *not* me asking if TFW is updating yet, this is me asking if it's possible to get the text from the articles still. I would just take pictures and copy paste them myself, but the site seems to have its domain or license or whatever run out, so it can no longer be read or found. This is quite the shame, because even if it's possibly outdated by in-game stuff, I still liked it for the lore within. I'm sad that's gone, and it's been bothering me that nobody seems to care enough to save any of it. It's supplemental material for TSL, it's part of development history, it's establishing lore for the game so we can understand things better in-game, and I think it would be great to have archived. Even if the images are lost, can we at least have the text?

We actually looked into trying to fix the php (or other code, I forget) that the FW site was built on not too long ago. Unfortunately, it was too outdated to be an easy process, and no one has the time to devote to trying to dig into it and figure out how to do it, or if it's even possible. :/ So, I agree, it's sad but I did want to let you know that we have tried to look into it!

Hey, at least you're looking into it and not ignoring it entirely! At least someone's trying to help! Here's hoping it gets fixed fully someday.

So, do you not have like PDFs or anything that's offline for TFW?

I have a couple PDFs on my computer, which is odd because I don't remember downloading them, but I probably shouldn't upload them without permission.

For reference, I have two PDFs, one containing Vol. 9 Issue 1 ("The Green Isles Celebrates its New Rulers", "Ferry is Restored in the Land of the Green Isles", "Celebration to Honor Daventry's Hero", and "Interview with Princess Rosella"), and one containing Vol. 9 Issue 2 ("Checkmate! Grand Opening of Chessboard Land Cancelled Mid-Ceremony", "Green Isles Take Steps Toward Peace, Open Their Borders", "Former Vizier Alhazred Pleads Not Guilty; Trial to Begin Next Week", and "Interview with King Alexander"), and two PDFs that are blank for some reason.
