I don't have an account.

I'm also trying to buy it, within Texas(to save a few dollars).

I think I'm going to have to buy it online though. :-\

Why don't you have an account? eBay's a great place for buying old out-of-print computer games.

It's a personality problem I have.

Ebay=bidding

bidding=me going on a spending spree

Any more questions? XD

Hee. Fair enough, although unfortunately I don't know of a better place for buying old things easily.

eBay rules! !!! I've gotten at least half of my computer games on eBay, plus many out-of-print videos, books, and comics.

eBay is abit dodgy though, you can get ripped off, and my mum and sister have both been ripped off :-\

IIRC, an eBay thread already exists in this forum somewhere.  You could merge them with that!  :D

True. But I've only gotten ripped off once in 35 auctions, and that was only because I took a chance on a new seller with no feedback yet. If you stick to people with lots of positive feedback (and read any negative feedback to see if it's worth worrying about or not), then you're unlikely to have any problems. Sellers who have been around a while will bend over backwards to help you because they want good feedback. :)

Thanks for telling me. :)

To stay on-topic in an off-topic conversation....

I can't afford to save that much money on Ebay! XD

Well just in case you change your mind . . . . .  ::) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11047&item=8129712112&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

EDIT (By Yonkey): Forum stretching  ;D

I very rarely bid as those nasty nasty bid snipers who sneak in with 1 min to go always out bid me  >:(  So instead i just rely on the buy it now options adn also the secondhand market on amazon is really quite good plus you get the extra cover of a cmpany who actually responds to customer complaints :/

My worst rip off case was from a guy selling a gamecube when it was pretty new with 5 games and a few controllers for 350 quid. Payed for it and the package didnt arrive so it took me 5 months of threatening this git to get my money back. Ebay did not once contact him despite 4 complaints filed by me. Waste of space having a customer support service if they dont even respond when people are being ripped off

:furious:

BUT apart from that I've NEVER had a problem buying stuff. Designer handbags, sunglasses and clothes for bargain prices and many games and old albums that I can never normally find :)

I love ebay, but I hardly ever use it.  When I do get to use it, I always say "I'll spend up to this much" and put that as my max bid.  But I also hate it when those people jump in at the last minute...even when you're watching the bid.  You get down to ten seconds and are like "I got it!"...refresh the page...and all of a sudden, someone outbid you!  How do they do that??  If I try to, I never refresh and jump in in time!

If you have an eBay account, don't want to futz with bidding, and have a credit card, you can use half.com. I might look into that for some things now that I have a credit card.

Do you plan on finding the advantages and disadvantages of the older operating systems as compared to the newer ones?

Yeah :D, because my friend and I really want to bag XP and let people know how bad it is compared to the older ones ;D

Back on topic...(in off topic hahahaha)

Talking about ebay I'm planning to set up my business of selling stuff thru ebay and amazon this year so if I do I expect all you people to buy from me and give me kick ass comments and stuff!

Hee. That reminds me... I'm planning on selling some of my stuff at some point too... though not as a business, just a sort of spring cleaning.

It'll be kind of boring, though... mostly whatever old children's books Harrison's sister doesn't want, and old souvenir t-shirts.

Now that I think about it... if anyone wants 22 issues of Windows Magazine from 1996-1997, or 26 issues of Seventeen from 1994-1996, you can have them for the cost of shipping. Just send me a PM, first come, first served. (Yeah, like this going to be a popular offer. ;P ) I doubt I'd sell them, and I'd hate to just recycle them.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Stick em on Ebay! I bet theres hoards of wierd magazine collectors scouring the site for your very copies! Plus most people who buy stuff on ebay are idiots when it comes to prices too  ;D

Post by: Jeysie on September 14, 2004, 12:09:44 PM
Hee. I might if nobody here wants them, but I'm mostly just interested in getting rid of some of my stuff without having to trash it. :)

Hey, if anyone buys them, let me know. I've got plenty of magazines like that, and no idea what to do with them. :P
