I personally don't think there are too many pics of Rob...and I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels that way.

And I believe you spelt characteristic correctly.

Gah..I've gone and opened up a can of worms.  lol  (Also revealed my own ignorance) I really don't know how to describe it..maybe its in my own mind but I associate different things I see with other things.  Also it may be a Hollywood stereotype or something...the set of eyes, the facial features etc.  <shrugs> like I said its hard to describe you might want to disregard it B'rrr, especially since I've revealed my lack of knowledge on anything I happen to be talking about.  BTW, you look cool and there aren't too many pics of you.

Rob, I've got a way, to keep people from touching your computer. A piece of software, that makes these very strange sci-fi computer-like sounds. It will get people stare at your computer, but they wouldn't dare touch it.  It sounds like your PC's going to blow up(it worried me enough, that I uninstalled the software).

Use it, and you'll never have to worry about jars using your PC ever again. :P

interesting, a personal ugly mug thread and I haven't seen even ONE photo so far, either change the name and make it a personal thread or just actually start posting something to it, either way if you do plan to make another one of cat I think she already has her own thread, unless you open a true discussion thread like magical dreams (kimmie's and q's) I believe Cat has a thread, and this could become rob's thread.

I know Jason didn't know because he didn't attend the meeting on weekend, but Daniel does know what I said about Haven so, read what I just said, and we will have a little talk later. That goes for both of you <3
Title: Re:B'rrr's Thread
Post by: Jeysie on September 14, 2004, 06:16:56 AM
So if ugly mug threads can only be ones with pics in them, what should be the title of a thread talking *about* someone's ugly mug? (Which I'm guessing is what Louisiana was going for...)

Or we could just merge all of Rob's pics into here. :D

Peace & Luv, Liz

I think someone's individual thread would be an appropriate place to discuss their picture, or any other topic related directly to the individual the thread is dedicated to.

So, I think Say's point was to either put pics in here or rename it to reflect a discussion rather than make it seem like pictures are actually here.

I think merging Rob's pics into this thread would be great!  I'd post one that he sent me that I KNOW he wouldn't mind me posting except for the fact I'm at the clinic computer and not my dorm one... :S

Hmm, since there already is an Ugly Mug Thread and we don't really want to remove pics from there, nor have duplicate pics in both places, I say we turn this into Rob's personal thread (since I don't think he has one) and change the thread name.  ;D

I know. :) I was just wondering what the official name for such a discussion thread would be.

And I don't care, I still vote for merging Rob's pics in here. Then I can stare at Rob all in one place! :suffer: :flirt:

B'rrr, I found a great way to scare off JWs.

In my early childhood years, I suffered from severe cases of hives.  My grandmother, being raised on a farm, believed in extreme home remedies religiously.  One afternoon, after breaking out in a case of hives, she decided to test a remedy.  At the time, we were about to be visited by a JW.  Halfway up the drive, he saw a woman in her fifties in the field with an eight year old girl underneath a goat, completely nude.  Fearing what he had just driven upon, he decided not to travel up the other half of the driveway, turned around and never came back.

Goats milk relieves the irritation of hives, and my grandmother believed it was better straight from the udder verses from the udder to a bucket to a bathtub and then to the child.

If I didn't know you as personally as I do, I'd probably think you were crazy...oh wait, you are!!!

I've heard of another way to get rid of people that are bothering you. If you ever get sprayed by a skunk, find whoever it is that was bothering you. You get up close to them, and they'll quickly put some distance between you. After that, they'll never bother you again. :P

Oh, dear me. This reminds me of a story that an online acquaintance told once. Paraphrased slightly, since it has been a while.

First off, I should mention that the fellow in question was a tall, gangly one who always dressed in full-on Goth punk sort of clothing, to begin with.

He was trying to make some lunch, and was trying to pry ketchup out of a stubborn bottle with a knife. Unfortunately he messed a bit, and the ketchup got all over him. The doorbell then rang.

He opened it, still doused in ketchup and holding the knife, and found a pair of JWs standing there. After a short silence, he thought quickly and said, "Um, I'm in the middle of a sacrifice. Could you come back later?"

Most organized religions are restrictive to one degree or another, at least the major ones, so the JWs don't strike me as being greatly different.

I hear the look on the JWs faces was priceless. XD :P

lol, I would've want to see their faces too  :D ;-D

(chuckle) Fair enough, I suppose.

Everyone who wishes to visit me is welcome in the sense that I'm not going to be rude to them.

I freely admit, though, that there's some types of visitors I don't feel comfortable and/or interested in holding a conversation with, especially if they were uninvited. As much as I admire some people's creativity, however, I prefer to employ the polite but direct approach.

MSN eh? I was just complaining to Jeysie about it. Never used it and all I got was spam.

for example:
"Message from REAL women to you"
"Are you sick and tired of so called "women" wanting "romance" on dating websites? Believe it or not there are literally thousands of women who want HOT, PASSIONATE SEX NOW!"
"Go to www....."

and

"Hi, my name is Allison, I am 19 years old and live in Bristol. I have been studying the internet at my college and have put up a website with my own webcamera. You don't need a webcamera to see me. You can view my personal life and admire my body at the same time."
"Go to ALLISONWEBCAM.COM"

I deleted MSN off my computer after a three hour struggle (insidious software that is, insidious)  >:(

Sorry for the tale of woe but I just wished to voice my grief to see if anyone else got fed up ???

ugh, I know what you mean I used to get those random messages before too, want to know how I fixed it?

go to personal settings -> privacy -> Block "All Others"

what difference does it make? you can't recieve mssgs from anyone unless you have added them previously to your list, you can still participate with group conversations and everything as such, but you wont get random mssgs like that, it's worked for me so far! :)

I've been using Windows as my main OS(despite only 6gig of space), since I joined the forum(took 2 years, but someone did it).

reason=Yahoo Messenger checks my e-mail, so I can respond quickly. :P

That, and that I started using Windows software, so I could apply for the team. :)

It may sound silly, lately I don't feel like I've been there as I should for those who I love or  those who I should be supposed to be there for, my life has been complicated and things are turning out as bad as they possibly could :(, I can't do anything else but try to keep myself together to survive the day, so doing something good (to someone else for a change) did make me feel good.

What a silly rant, I just wanted to say thanks a lot *hugz*

As long as I'm looking at a digital clock/watch, that's what I go by.

The thought of a round 24 hour clock, disturbs me. :-\

Title: Re:B'rrr's Thread
Post by: Shadowfax on September 22, 2004, 08:40:48 AM
I have to admit I always prefer digital whenever possible. I am ashamed to admit it took me years until I finally managed to work out a basic analogue clock. It took me approximately three seconds to work out how a digital clock reads.

Mind you, I think that round 24-hr clock is a bloomin' good idea! (I don;t quite see what is so disturbing about it LN but then again I am into unusual solutions so...)
Title: Re:B'rrr's Thread
Post by: B'rrr on September 22, 2004, 09:03:37 AM
i think the 24 scale on a watch is quite usefull, have to get used to it first.... but i like the idea ( it is less clear to figure out the exact time though)
Title: Re:B'rrr's Thread

Hmm, I would actually find it clearer to work out the time as it displays the data more literally than other clocks.

Post by: Louisiana Night on September 22, 2004, 09:51:07 AM
I'll agree that it's probably easier to use,
but if they put it in a grocery store,
I wouldn't know whether to use it as a scale,
or a clock. :P

I think I'd like the clock,
except that all the scales in
the grocery stores around here,
look almost exactly like it. :P

Though, it may rank up there with my favorite pics ever.

that's right, the good thing of hair is that it grows  :D

but, yeah, it was kinda weird to see myself with short hair. my hair wasn't long long but i thought it was getting long enough. I heard that hair is getting better if you cut it once in a while really short... so  ::) :P

Hah, well I once heard that the facial hair starts to grow faster after you shave for the firzt time, but I've yet got to experience that, and I've already shaved quite a few times. Therefor, how cutting your hair to a certain length can improve the quality of one's hair is beyond my scope of logic. :scholar:

:suffer:

I have no idea how many posts it took me to get into the Top-15 when I joined, but it can't have been too much, because there weren't nearly/not by far as much people registered as there are now. Besides that, I wasn't interested in my position at that time, after all, this wasn't my main forum back then, I just visiited once in a while, seeing as how I could easily keep up with new posts. 8)

I'd have thought that would be referred to as a 'notice' not a 'sign'. But then again, I'm not English, just English-inclined. 8)

paper trap.

As in, fly paper(I assume). :P

The fly(Rob) touches the paper, and sticks to the sticky paper, so they(he) can't leave. :P

You needn't have put that picture there for me, I know perfectly well what a fly paper looks like and what it does. Any way, I assume that trap would be located at the entrance/exit of this thread, so if he's stuck there, he can't come back here. ::)

That's why it was a Rob-paper trap, did you not bother to read a few posts back?

That's a difference with a flypapier trap then, that one's not designed to release its victims, at least not until they're dead. :sweating:
Now I'm starting to get confused about the location of the floor of a thread. What I consider floor, is the end, but that's moving a lot of the time, so that can't really be it. Can you shed any more light on my confusion? ???
Also, that age 11 and up, does that mean it can only be used on people age 11 and up, or by people age 11 and up? :P

Well, it's a sticky trap. Thats enough for me. :P
As for the floor of a thread, it's...er...under your feet!

It's meant for use by people ages 11 and up. And a good thing too, you never know how those wacky 10 year olds will misuse stuff like this. ;P

Taken literally, there's a piece of my socks under my feet and under that there's a slipper. Are you saying my slippers are the floor of a thread? ;P

Title: Re:B'rrr's Thread

But you still, at one point would have to step on the trap. Putting the cheese farther ahead simply insures that you won't stop before the trap to worship it. :P

Not if I came from the other direction -- then the trap would be behind the cheese.  You'd have to know where I was gonna come from.

There are mouse traps that trap the mice in plastic this plastic cup :P

Technically only one entrance on them so you would have to get caught, or break your neck when it slams down :P XD
