Of course, the first one is pretty close to the original, but the second has been expanded quite a bit (although I like it better than the original KQ2).

MoE isn't freeware. It's still sold online(and in a few retail stores, probably). 8)

Firstly he will ask if it is a FPS :P, then we will say no, and he will say then what kind of a game is that :P

Well, I've never played a FPS, but I'm going to assume MoE was close *waits for someone to dispute that*  And to save Joshua from asking, KQ is an adventure game series :P

No where near MoE was pure crap where as FPS is pure gold :P

FPS's crap pure gold? :o

Wow, you learn something new every day. ;)

...seriously though, I have played a couple decent FPS games, but there just aren't many that I've seen with a good plot to round them out. Pointless shooting just turns me off. :P

OMFG, I didn't think u guys would make a thread for me  :o. *feels special*

I was though u had to be a groupeh for ur own personal thread. I though I would make one for myself at post count 2500 so i would atleast get noticed ;)

Anyway, so back to the game. I never have any money, even if i do, i something comes up and i have to spend it  :-\. If you guys could hunt around and find me some adventure games that are freeware/open source, then that would be great  ;D. There was one thing i needed to know, when i get Kq9, will i have an understanding of the storyline, since this is the final sequel to the series. Would i have to get previous titles in order to understand it?  :-\

thanks again for my thread ;D

*Congradulates himself on his largest post ever*

Like Cesar said...

Everything that we used from past games is throughly explained in King's Quest IX. We assumed the position that players never played past games, and took the time to explain all of the events needed from the past games through cutscenes, conversations, or others.

So playing the past games will enhance the experience(IMHO), but you won't have to play them to understand the storyline. :)

What about other adventure games out there. I just want  a feel to see what adventure games are like  ;). I'm always rapped up in the FPS genre, and wouldn't mind a break.

I could name some that mix the two genres(FPS and Adventure)... but I think you're talking about the "Point&Click" style of Adventure games. :-\

So that leaves out my favourite(finished) freeware Adventure games. :P

If you want a  good modern Adventure game(not freeware, or Point&Click), you should probably play Shadow of Destiny(as long as you don't dislike Anime ;P ).

It's about as easy as an Adventure game gets, but keeps the classic gameplay, and also has a good plot(once again, assuming you like Anime).

I think all 4 of the Monkey Island games are still for sell(from Lucasarts). The first two are hard to find though(I think they cost $50US :-X ).

I don't know when they were originally made, but the first two are older than Windows. The third has cartoon style graphics, and the 4th has PS2 level graphics(the early PS2 games :P ).

Besides...

I doubt you're PC can handle the maximum graphics level of some of the newer games(Doom3). :P

Then again... I doubt ANYONE'S PC can do that, at a decent framerate. ;P

Maybe I should test that idea... :D

I have played other fairly high quality games on my new computer at maximum detail, and they look awesome. ;)
