Prince Alexander used "Zounds". And I'll be damned if I'm to listen to you insult him.
"Zounds, this sword must weigh a ton!" still cracks me up every time I listen to it. <3 (That and "Stay up, ceiling! Gooooooood ceiling." Yeah, I need a life.)
Peace & Luv, Liz
Lol about the ceiling! XD Was that in the labyrinth? I recall that line, jsut can't remember exactly where it were.
Yep. After the ceiling has stopped, if you click the TALK icon on the ceiling, Alex pops out with that line. After the adrenline rush of thwarting the trap, that line gave me a serious fit of the giggles.
(checks) A-ha, I do have it online!
(link go happy bye-bye)
Peace & Luv, Liz
*shakes head* Sorry, but "zounds" doesnt work for me... Its a little too "cutesy." and dont worry, Im not insulting Alex (KQ6 was a favorite of mine)... The scriptwriter on the other hand.... XB
Are you absolutely certain its not just a Holleywood'ized "medievalish" word? I, for one, am skeptical. I think it has as much historical validation as "Yowzers" does from Inspector Gadget.
(ahh... now THAT was a cartoon :))
did scooby-doo also say "zounds"? can't remember
Cat
Not sure, I can only remember Scooby saying "ruh-roh! :o". ;D
excuse me...did anyone in the Scooby-Doo cartoon/movies, etc. ever say Zounds...I know scooby's vocabulary was very limited b/c he's a puppy dog (ok...so he's a big dog...he's just so cute!)
Cat
I think shaggy said zounds sometimes.

Heh, that's one thing I haven't tried... Cracked me up as well :D
I'm not sure about "Zounds", but I'm pretty sure Connor uses "Egad"... what a ripp-off :P
Connor had a lot of weird sayings...and they were repeated over, and over, and over again!
Cat
Has anyone ever tried to make connor swear in MOE? It's a pretty hard easter egg, but it can happen...
I wonder what you've been doing in your spare time... ;P
Cat
Hey, i couldn't resist seeing connor swear...it makes me hate him more....(ever thought what roberta williams feels like when she sees fan feedback to MOE?
NO! I know what the mango one feels like...I mean the real one...Does she ever check this place? Can someone track her IP?
why you want mango IP? lol
No, he wants Roberta's. ;)
How do you make Connor swear ???
Clicking Queen Freesa's scepter on the Sylph in the Dimension of Death.
Zounds! (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=zounds)
interj. [Contracted from God's wounds.] An exclamation formerly used as an oath, and an expression of anger or wonder.
Hey, there's a Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zounds) too. Neat.
QuoteZounds is an old English curse word, a contraction of "God's wounds", referring to Christ's crucifixion wounds.

Wow, it was a curse word? :o

Hey, Stefanie beat me to the dictionary definition idea... I've just been on a Wikipedia kick lately so I decided to look for it after I saw she found it was a real word, hee. ;)
I guess somebody needs to wash Alex's and Connor's mouths out with soap! :suffer: Makes me wonder how nasty a curse word it was considered to be.

Hee, hee! Oh, that brings up some hilarious mental images. Harrison's quip he made a while back about a KQ barbershop quartet was crazy enough, but thinking about a KQ punk band is even funnier. I mean, like, they could jam on their lutes and stuff! XD

...does that means you're going to expand your 'curse-filter' ; )
i hope the dont filter it ;B
Zounds, that would be annoying if they did :suffer:
Well, I think you have to assume what we consider curse words these days. Until it was posted, we (or at least I) had no idea that "Zounds" was a curse word. (I'd post more, but I have lost my train of thought! lol)
Cat
Zounds ;D, almost spelt like Sounds ;B

Thank you, thank you...my moment of cuteness!

I always thought it was funny when Alex said Zounds, and now I know why...
