Title: help with QFG4 1/2
Post by: Rosedragon on August 19, 2005, 07:11:04 PM
I've been playing the fan game QFG 4 1/2. Anyone familiar with it? I need some help. I'm almost at the end, I've rescued Elsa and now I need to find the magic wand so I can enter the secret passageway behind the log. I have no idea where the wand is, Can't find it, does anyone know where it's at? Somebody please help me find the magic wand!

I've never played the game, but here's (http://wwhs.fangames.co.uk/sections/guides/QFG4.5.htm) a walkthrough for it. :)

It's been a long time & very hard work repressing it, so I don't really remember how I finished the game... but I think I may have gotten stuck at about the same place so I'll give it a shot ::)

***Warning!! POSSIBLE Spoiler!!***

Have you been to the island of homosexual pirates yet? maybe you get the wand from the caves there... oh wait, now that I think about it, it could have been an amulet there... crap, now I'll have to re-install the game and check :X

/me looks for the "Games Backup O-Z" disk, and hopes her CD drive is in a good mood

Ugh, I can't believe I filed that piece of crap under "Quest for Glory" >:(

Ok, Yonkey posted the walkthrough while I made the previous post and saved me from re-playing the game ;D

Rosedragon - I was wrong about the wand's location there, but my hint was in the right direction... so let me know if you want another hint, the walkthrough is very explicit 8)

Heh, yeah sorry about that.  I was trying to find their official site, but it looks like they don't have one. :S

Sorry? ahh, you probably hadn't heard that loud sigh of relief I made when I pressed "Quit" ;)

Funny, it used to have a site (http://qfg2001.cjb.net)... seems to have gone missing :S

I think it was shut down. I'm not sure though.

You get the wand from Erasmus' castle, first you need the amulet to get in though. It might also be a good idea to get the gargoyle some work. More tips under www.bigbluecup.com go to hints and tips and you'll have to search through it to find QFG41/2.

Maybe the Good Taste Police got to them ;P

But even though the site is shut down, the game lives on. Have you killed Cleo's murderer yet? He's tough. If you don't restore after each miss and save after each hit, you run out of stamina and die. You don't have to kill him in order to finish the game, but for the sake of justice and points do it anyway.

Quotefor the sake of justice
Justice in a game like this!?  :P

Yes! Truth, justice and the right to do naughty things with centaurs! :P

Well it was your choice! You didn't have to click on that button. You could have just walked away. Anyway I suspect something 'naughty' was going to happen with the barmaid before Crusher came in and ruined the 'date'.

Did you hear me complain? ::)
Besides, in adventure games you have to try anything and everything - you never know what you'll need to finish the game. So you don't really have a choice, except for not playing the game in the firstplace :-\

At any rate you could have made it through the game without doing naughty things to the centaur!

I couldn't be happier about never playing this so called game. :P

It's a pretty good adventure game though. I liked the puzzles, but couldn't really understand what "Ye Old 'Orehouse" was doing in a game that wasn't made by Al Lowe.
