Title: All round good news! (Sam and max 2!!)
Post by: Drunken Chinchilla on September 15, 2005, 04:00:29 PM
Yes its true, Sam and Max 2 is now back in production!!

Telltale games have bought the rights for Sam and Max from LucasArts and have begun developement. Rather than starting off where LucasArts left they're wiping the slate clean with a brand new game :D

Also to do with telltale games, they've released the first part of a running series of adventure games based on a comic book series called Bone by Jeff Smith. Theres a demo available on their website (http://www.telltalegames.com/bone_the_game?rf=sd_bone) and to unlock the rest of the game it only costs $19.99. Seems to be a reocurring price point with adventure games atm!

Sam and Max 2?! This is way too good to be true! Last I heard Lucasarts dumped it, then some developer was negotiating with Lucasarts, but then Lucasarts went cold and that's all I remember. Was that Telltale? I don't seem to be able to remember the name, but in any case, whoever it is, I'm glad. So glad, this is great. :D

Would've been good if LucasArts had have gone through with it, but I'm just glad that another company got the rights :D

Can't wait to see it finished!

Well in a way they still are! Telltale games are made up of ex-LucasArt members so its kind of the same thing anyway :)

I bought it.

Don't waste your money.

Its not exactly a bad game but its nothing spectacular. In fact i think they should of released the entire game as the demo, its seriously not worth the $19.99 i managed to finish it in 2 hours. Some amusing one liners though :)

lol. That's the third sequel of a good series they've managed to ruin (the other two being KQ and LSL :P).

Ah well, at least KQIX will be awesome. XD

I for one will not pay $20 for a 4 hour game . You then have to pay another $20 for part 2 and so on. You can't transfer it to another computer. If TellTale games doe's the same thing with Sam and Max 2,I won't be buying it. I like to have a hard copy in my hands in case my computer gets the hiccups and I have to re-install windows. Just MO.

As for Sam and max 2, I'm betting Mango is happy about it. XD

Yeah totally. Unless I see a blinding review about the next part of the Bone game (and Sam and Max 2 for that matter) i wont be giving telltale games any more of my moolah im afraid. Took me ages to figure out actually HOW to register the thing in the first place!

It's an experiment, perhaps they'll charge $5 or so for the next chapters. ;P

I'm sure that once each game is completley done they'll release a bundled version on CD for those who want it.

Several billion years later and i am indeed happy that there is gonna be a Sam and Max 2!

I may get the demo for Bone, but it doesn't really interest me..  But it is only $12.99 now! :o
