I love the way it changes from being all philosophical into a big dramatic buildup. Beast is looking very impressive too :yes:
My favorite!!!11111 part is probably the whole trailer itself, just the setting, the dialogue and the ending, it's all very well done. My most absolute favorite part is the one with edgar and the shack in that grassy outdoors environment, looks very happy and fun, like KQ1!
My least favorite part is the spikey haired, foriegn looking anime-like Alexander :(
But the rest is great good job ya'll!! XD

I agree with Jesse...love the part where Edgar and Graham are outside talking. I'm trying so hard to place the shack. Also, many compliments to the composers. The music's awesome, as always!

d*mn, baby. That trailer has only confirmed that this project WILL succeed, in ways Sierra had never even dreamt of. The character animation is truly excellent.
My only gripe is that Alexander looked a bit too goofy when he held his head in pain... or was that intentional?
Nonetheless, an awe-inspiring and powerful taste of things to come.

Just watched it! My favorite parts: the scene with Rosella and the Beast with the motion blur looked really cool. Whole opening sequence with Graham was tight. The first shot of Shadrack is totally badass, I'm loving that.
Least favorite part: Alexander looks kind of...young/animeish/why was he smiling in that scene. Also some of the textures look pretty fuzzy, especially when Valanice (?) is fighting that ogre on the stairs of the castle, the ogre's texture looks really flat and blurry.
Overall awesome job, can't wait to play it!
BTW Yonkey...is my character going to be in this game, another game, or what?

I believe it's supposed to be in this part. I know Allert worked on your character a while ago, but I haven't heard much since then.

I downloaded it and it finally loaded fully it took a half an hour and now all I can do is listen to it?! There is just a big white box and I can't see a thing I can just listen to it! Great music though.
I got a bit of an error, but when I tried it in Quicktime it worked perfectly. Try that :)
I only have quicktime, it only came with a quicktime folder when I downloaded it. What did you try before that?
Windows Media Player. .Mov extensions should work with Quicktime...Have you tried looking for another media player?

I just watched it again and it still takes my breath away.
I really like the contrast between the softer music and the little black and white glimpses, to where it's all in colour, the music swells, and it looks like all h*ll is breaking loose.
I can't wait till winter and the game is done. I haven't been this excited for a game to come out for a very long time.

Yes the game does look great although maybe they ARE finished.... maybe they just want to keep using this :suffer: and they think when it's out they won't be able to use it. Because actually they will! Everyone will be asking for help! Except me because I really don't like to cheat in king's quest games (seems to ruin the fun :()

I tried like fifty thousand times already. I'm getting soooooo anxious...... I have ADHD, which makes it so that I have hardly any patience. Oh well.... I guess I'll have to wait... :'(
What is up with these goofy smiles? Are they intentional...because they sure seem odd given the circumstances of the shots.

They are not goofy smiles, they are reactions, you can't analyze everything frame by frame, because well, they are not supposed to be seen in a frame by frame ratio but as a whole.
These models certainly don't have the hundreds of muscles humans have in their face, so unless you want them expresionless, we do our best to mimic human emotions ;)
I didn't really analyse it frame by frame, really what I did was I noticed that they were smiling, which seemed strange to me, and then I went back and froze the frame to make sure they were doing so as the shots cut away pretty quickly.
Don't take it as too big of a criticism, it's just something that struck me as odd while watching the trailer. The trailer on the whole, as I said before, is really awesome. ;D

Already one person, who has never played a Kings Quest before, replied and said it looked great, and is thinking of playing it when it comes out. Hopefully more people will find it enjoyable(they might even buy the new Kings Quest compilation when it comes out to see what all the fuss was about).

Favorite part--simply Graham's narration and animation--but I'm a sucker for the emotional and character development more than anything else, so I guess that makes sense. And the vioce works (I'm sorry I don't know the actor's name). I thought I would miss Josh Mandel, but this voice fits the character well.
Least favorite part--all the little foreshadows of Graham's death in the trailer. I didn't realize how attached I was to the character before that, I guess. Now I'm even more anxious for KQIX, cause I have to know what happens. But seriously, not Graham . . .

Heh... don't worry. This is an adventure game; if he dies, there's a good chance that restoring will bring him back :)
Favorite Parts: The character close-ups are very impressive, particularily that last shot of Graham (lookin' good for an old guy ;)). The character movements in general are good. I'm also intrigued by that scene with the girl in the tower...
Least Favorite Parts: Nothing too big, except that when Rosella closes her eyes, her eyelashes are still above her eyelids. Of course, there's not much that can be done about that. Also, I don't personally care for Alexander's anime hair, but he looks cute as a button otherwise.

Is it safe to assume that the methods used for distributing the trailer are something of a "test run" for the distribution of the game's first chapter?
If by first chapter you mean Part One, then no. The game will be available from our website first, but we are definitely planning on having mirrors/multiple servers. Since the game will most likely be bigger than 120mb, the distribution method will be quite different and we'll even be using more than one method. 8)
I hope it doesnt take up all my hard space, I only have 6 gb left :P

Use this program www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html it plays any video that your original video program does not have. :)

Not bad, the only real thing i had a problem with is when Valenice pushes that king and he just kinda pops back into postion, like those blow up toy punching dolls, he should be stepping backwards not foreward.

WOW! Looks sooo fantastic. It's already getting cold in wisconsin...I think that means it's winter...so the game should be out tomorrow right? ;) I am so excited! My heart was beating so fast waiting for the download to finish! Ack! One weird thing though. Cassima and Valence's upper torso by the armpits...looks squished in or something. Almost alien-like. The game play itself is more KQ5/KQ6 style; point-and-click interface. The game itself is 3D, but the cursors are the traditional Hand, Eye, Walk, Item, etc. 8)

I'm a fan of the KQ series, 5 & 6 being my favorite and I didn't even realize this game was being made until I went on PC GameWorld and they had an article about the game getting a license to so it continue to be made.
So far it looks really good and I'm definitly looking forward to it.
I went into the media section and find the trailer but when I went to download it and the link was removed. Anyone know why? Or is there another place to download it?

So far nothing is confirmed, I do not have in the near future (within a month) any trailer scheduled, but we do have really good stuff coming, better rather than a teaser!
I really want to see this teaser, but whenever my quicktime starts up to play it, it shuts off right away. :-\

I just installed so I assume it's upgraded already. There is another choice to buy it for 20 dollars but I think that might be for extra features on quicktime/i tunes. Will realplayer work for it?
You can try it. I'm not sure if RealPlayer plays *.mov files.
It wasnt the movie it was my quicktime. I downloaded a new one without I Tunes and it works fine. Wow I can't wait for this game. 8)

I just downloaded the trailer. It's pretty ridicliously amazing, I'm not gonna lie. But then again, it's torture. It gets you so excited about and then youe realize, wait...it's not out yet...crap.

And yeah, I hadn't seen it since December, so watching it again was really awesome. :) It seems like the video quality of this one is actually way better than the small KQIX version in .mov format, and it's only 2 MB larger. 8)
