Title: The Questing for Questie thread
Post by: Questing Character on October 30, 2005, 10:52:35 PM
So, with my lack of being on the forums, I have decided to create a thread for myself.  This way I can keep everyone updated on the major events going on here at school.  And you can, of course, treat it like anyone else's thread and fill it with praise and random conversation. :)

So...I got to school fine.  My roommate is cool most of the time.  I like my classes.  And the reason for my absence on the forums other than classes?
-I'm in 12th Night.
-I'm in Pinocchio.
-I'm in a one act play called Double Take.
-I'm in a main character on a TV show that is going to be on our campus' TV station.
-I'm in the Lutheran group on campus.
-I'm in the drama club.
-I'm on the exec cab of the drama club
-I'm in the GSA on campus.

Oh, and...speaking of that last one...
XB XD I have a boyfriend XD XB

Heh, thanks Neil. :)

So, funny story...I think you'll all like it.  This weekend we were supposed to set back our clocks, yes?

Well, Sunday I woke up and my clock said it was 2 pm.  In shock I turned to my roommate and asked, "Did I really sleep til 2?" (which would indicate 12 hours of sleep :P)
Shawn doesn't even look at me or the clock and says, "Yes.  Except that it's really 1."

I dunno, I thought it was funny. :P

Questie! You guys are so cute together! Congrats. Unfortunately, I don't have a boyfriend...

J/K!  ;D I have too much homework.  :P.

The Gnarly Surfing Association came first, so it would be really rad if the other group could change their name\acronym. :P

I still say he makes us look cute together, but he disagrees.  As far as arguments (and really, it's a debate) go, that's not a bad one to have. :P

Oooh, my acting!
Well, we're doing 12th Night (opening night is Thursday, I cannot wait...) I'm incredibly sick of this show because, since it's Shakespeare, like every single one of my classes is studying it too.
We're also doing a one act festival which I kind of have a big role in.

The one act I'm in is called "Double Take", and I'm playing "Inner Man".  The concept is this: it's the morning after two close friends have slept together.  You have Inner Man and Inner Woman (who only exist in Outer Man and Outer Woman's minds) trying to get them to become more than friends, but Outer Man and Outer Woman keep screwing things up.

And then, one of our acting teachers has written a children's show of Pinocchio which I'm in.  I'm playing (among other, lesser roles) Lampwick, who is the boy that Pinocchio goes to Funland with.

And then there's a TV show that's going on.  I'm playing one of the main characters, Dave.  That's all I'm going to say because they are going to be making a DVD and I'm willing to bet you'll be able to buy it off of Amazon. HINT HINT. :P

Jafar, in my thread...you're whatever I say you are until I decide differently. :P

Lolotte: we actually just wrote the script, we based it off of the original book.  Alas, there is no Madam Spinoza.  But there are people on stilts. (I am, fortunately, not on stilts. :P)

Hee..thanks Deloria. :D And don't worry, the economy is doing great in this thread. :)

So, the news today is that I'm coming out to my parents when they get here today.  I'm really nervous, don't really know what I'm going to say.

On the other hand, if I haven't told them by the time they get to my room...we still haven't erased his message on my white board.  And my calendar says "COME OUT TO PARENTS" on today.  And when I open up my drawer to show them the sock with the orange paint on it, I have cleverly planted my t-shirt that says "Homophobia is a Social Disease" right next to it.
So.......yeah, we're good to go. :P

So, this weekend was a total failure (except that the show has been butt!)

They came with a family friend I barely know.  So, I didn't tell them.  Then this morning they were minus the family friend, but they kept treating me like a two-year old and I was far to P.Oed about that to tell them anything.
And they never needed to see the orange-paint sock, didn't look at the calendar, and I freaked out about the friend and erased the name off of his message on my white board.  Dammit!

Next time is Thanksgiving.  I spent like an hour coming up with ways of letting them know before then, but not telling them in person seems like a bad idea.

I came up with some really awful ones, but many of them are inappropriate for these forums. :P

Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread

It's a 9 hour train ride to get home.  And of course, because of my mother's psychotic scheme to keep me from driving (looong story...suffice to say, I'm at the point of selling myself to get a car...it's that bad) (and no, I have a car...she just has control over it, so it's not a money issue).  So, yeah, going home for a weekend is hard, especially with my rehearsal schedules.

And to make things better, I thought I had all the time in the world.  Except my dad is now planning on coming to see the one acts at the beginning of December -- which my boyfriend is also planning on seeing.  Dun dun DUN!!!!  The plot thickens!

However, 12th Night is now done (YAY!).  I've finished filming for the time being.
And the boy was here for the weekend.  It was a good weekend.  Except for our slight adventure getting him back to his school (he didn't think that far ahead and forgotten about getting a ride back.  Whoops. :P)  That whole thing could have been avoided if I had a car though.

But the economy outside of this thread is still bad.  Darn nibbit.

I ran the 2/3 mile to school, walked as fast as possible up to my locker on the other side of the school (running=suspension,) opened my locker, got my stuff (harder than it sounds, it's like 15 pounds :P,) and walked quickly to class in 15 minutes. And it usually takes me more than that to RUN a mile in PE (stupid asthma. :P)

I turn off my alarm in my sleep :P, so I came up with a plan :D

I put my phone on the left side of the room and set that to go off a few seconds sooner than my alarm clock which is over the other side. XD

So I roll out of bed and turn off the phone alarm and then the other goes off and I'm wide awake by then :P

LOL! XD

I've been going to bed and waking up at the same time recently, so for the past week or so I've been waking up before my alarm goes off. ;D

I couldn't get to sleep until 4:00 this morning, because of a stupid cold, (it keeps on making me sneeze and waking up the entire household) then I somehow managed to inhale some dust, making me wheeze and cough away. Finally my parents get me some medicine and then I can go to sleep, only to find that the cold's bad enough to keep me from going to school.  :P

I think that feet trick might work, actually.  When I set my alarm, I get up to turn it off and then I can actually get ready to go.

I got up at 8 this morning 'cause I had to print out a paper in the library.

I've been listening to Christmas carols, and I have to say..."Baby, It's Cold Outside" is a creepy song if you listen to it.  One lyrics goes "What's in this drink?" or something like that, and I think it's implied that it's *not* cinammon, but it may be something to make her relax, if you know what I mean...

Drugged, yes.  I'm rather disturbed by the whole thing -- what happened to wholesome Christmas music? :P

So I had no 9:30 class today, because the professor is from California and is, apparently, afraid of snow.  Or at least, driving in it before noon. :P

A few years ago, there was an unexpected snowfall early morning and I had to drive to work through all of that snow. That was FUN!!, especially watching the other cars. Ofcourse, I was late at work that day, but who cares? ;D

It's exam week, so I didn't have to get up.
On the other hand my Psychology exam is at 7:30 Friday morning.  Shall we take bets on how late I'm going to be? :P  My plan is to get up at 7 and grab breakfast then go to the exam.  That's the plan anyways. :P

And, because this is my thread, I shall commence to complain:
I DON'T UNDERSTAND RELATIONSHIPS!!  Why is my boyfriend acting all weird and distant?
I mean, I'm doing it too, but I know why *I'm* doing it.  And if he's doing it for the same reasons, I wish he'd come out and tell me so I'd feel better about it!
Then again, if he's being distant for the same reasons, he probably wishes I'd tell him.  But I don't know how to say that I'm having issues with the distance thing (which is silly, because if either one of us had cars it would be practically no distance at all -- our schools are just a little over an hour apart).
End complaint.
Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread

That's the reason I am currently not in a relationship. Distance is annoying, but then she was cheated on in her last distance relationship so I can't blame her.

I guess you could ask him why he's acting weird and distant. Unless you've already tried that :-\
Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread
Post by: Questing Character on December 15, 2005, 09:01:01 PM
That'd be an incredibly awkward conversation to have.  And he'd probably either say "What do you mean?" or stop talking.

Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread

If he does say "What do you mean?" then explain to him why you think he's been distant. If he's just been busy or something, then he'll be aware of not forgetting you. If something's wrong, then you at least will have a way to know. Sure it'd be awkward, but isn't the distance and confusion worse?
Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread
Post by: Questing Character on December 18, 2005, 11:26:03 AM
I guess that's a good point, but what do I do if he stops talking?

I talked to my mom, she said long distance relationships tend to fizzle out after a while and that usually that's the best way of ending them -- just let them fade.
Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread
Post by: Rosella on December 18, 2005, 11:30:40 AM
IMHO, that's the worst way of ending it. That would be worse than any screaming, cussing, heartbreaking fight, or sorrowful goodbye. There's no closure that way.

Cuddling and making out is soooo awesome!

And the work... that will always be there... but eventually find someone where you BOTH work at it and it's that much easier.

And if someone thinks you're an afterthought, then you're most definitely better off without.  What a horrible thing to say about someone. :S

It seemed quick, especially since I hadn't talked to him about it yet. :P  But, no, it was a fluke...a fluke that keeps happening every once in a while, often enough so that I'm confused. :P

I think what really needs to happen is that someone needs to cast an aging spell on Lolotte, so she can be J-Roc's rebound. :P (Everyone needs a rebound, I've decided.  I also decided that it might be helpful to pick who you're going to rebound with when you start a relationship, preferrably someone who is *just* eye candy. :P)

Not a back-up date, that's gross.  A short relationship, basically a fling, you enter into so you can get used to the idea of not being emotionally attached to someone more slowly.

That's why there's a magical period of mourning time after a break up so that you know you're over the person before you date someone else. Rebound dates are BAD. As far as I've seen (being in middle school and all,) rebound dates are usually for revenge against the person who broke up with you, or they're the person you go out with/ask out after you break up with someone just so you not only break their heart but SMASH IT TO THE GROUND! >:(

Sorry, having a moment. :P

But either way, messed up. XD
Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread

Like I said, rebound is only bad if you're being rebounded onto. :P You people care too much about other people.  But, if your rebound person is only eyecandy then they probably don't have a great personality anyways. :P

I would be a rebound date for a guyfriend if for some reason they wanted to get back at some ebil girl, but I would NEVER have a rebound date. There's some put-others-before-yourself thing that goes on. :P And JUST because people are fabulous looking doesn't mean that they have a bad personality. ;P

I know bugger all about Valentines Day, apart from the fact that everything is romantic and there are roses and chocolates, and the cards saying "Will you be my Valentine?"

That's all I know :P

I actually think HE sent a letter telling his wife how much he loved her before he was executed unjustly.  :P

Questie, tell us about the beauty pageant!  ;D
Title: Re: The Questing for Questie thread
Post by: Questing Character on March 18, 2006, 03:03:39 PM
Okay, so...well....I'm at the club (the same club frequented by my ex, who we don't like, I might add, so you have to keep in mind that part of this entire thing is just to get at him....the jerk...but that's another story).

Well, one of his friends, who happened to, at the time, have a huge crush on me, tells me about this beauty pageant.  And I'm like "Well, I'll think about it."
And then he says the winner gets free admission to the club for a year.  And then, I'm sold, because I spend most of my money on cover for clubs, y'know?
Well, so I decide to do it.  The categories, as it turns out are: skimpwear, active wear, clubwear, on-stage questions, and talent.
My opponents were this guy, stage name Pablo , who I didn't meet until the day of the pageant but he pretty much rocks like boulders.  Everyone was sure he was going to lose.  The other opponent, stage name Geo, (who I've made out with...a few times...) was getting help from my ex, and everyone was sure either he or I would win.

Well, I spent that week (cause did I mention I had one week to prepare whereas the other, more experienced, contestants, had had over a month?) asking questions, choreographing a dance with two of my friends who were going to be my back up dancers, and figuring out what I would wear.

Day of, I'm clothes shopping and cannot find what I want.  Also, I need to trim or shave my legs, and I haven't done that yet.  Well....I end up managing to do that (I finished shaving my legs backstage of the pageant!!)

Soo, I was told that skimpwear was replacing active wear, but that turned out not to be the case...so for skimpwear I just went out in my boxer briefs.
For activewear I wore these really short cute little shorts with ducks on them that looked like, y'know, swimwear?
Then for clubwear, I wore these pants I borrowed from the guy that had wanted me to do the pageant to begin with, this hot belt that I own, and a black mesh shirt.  Clubwear is when they read our bios, and when they asked the onstage question too.  What made this interesting though is that I'm friends with the host of the pageant, so she put in little anecdotes and asides to my bio that I TOTALLY never wrote in. :P She also thinks my roomate is really hot so at one point she goes "Did you bring your roomate?"
I say "Heh, no."
She goes, "Too bad.  Aiden (Aiden was my stage name) also has a really hot roomate if you're not so into him."
I'm thinking "Oh dear lord!  NO!!" :P Shawn has too many of my friends from the gay club trying to seduce/convert him anyways. :P
So, then it was time for my question.  The judge I drew from the hat (they had numbers) asked "If you were stranded on a desert island, would you bring hair products or porn?" Without hesitation I answered, "I would bring the porn because there'd be no one there to look at my hair." :D
The club loved it.  I got such, such good response from the crowd for everything I did.  It helped that about half the crowd was people from my school I had invited, of course. :P
Anyways, then it was time for my talent.  Talent was just a song that you would lip sync and dance to.  Well, I was contestant #1, so I went first.  But my back up dancers were NO WHERE to be found, so I had to make up a dance on the spot and I was kind of freaking out.  But I went out there and did the best I could.  The song I'd picked, by the by, was "Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang.

Anyways, when it came time to crown the winner....they first gave the awards.  I came in first in the on-stage question category.  Geo got most of the other categories.  Pablo got a couple.
And Pablo also came in first overall...he got the title!!  And then I came in second, and Geo came in third...and my ex seemed pissed over that so...I'll admit, that made me happy.

But then we went downstairs to talk to the judges, and they told us what we could improve on.  Mostly they told me to be less nervous, which...well, if I'd had more than a week and had had my backupdancers, I would have been!  So that's how it went! :)
