Title: Has anyone ever heard of Ronin Warriors?
Post by: dark-daventry on March 25, 2006, 09:45:44 AM
I am a huge fan of Ronin Warriors, but I think that there are no more fans left. At least, none that I know. I own the entire series, and have fallen under it's spell of enchantment!

There's a class in Disgaea called Ronin but I didn't realise it was related to anything else...what is/are it/they?

Ronin Warriors was one of the best TV shows of it's time, in my opinion. It focused on five people who have five mystical armors. They are: Sage of the Halo, Rowan of the Strata, Psi of the Torrent, Kento of Hardrock, and their leader, Ryo of the Wildfire. (Ryo is pronounced Rio, with a long I in the middle. It was incommonly pronounced something else in the OVA's.) The show centered on these people defeating the Evil Talpa, with the help of the Ancient One. In the end, they defeat Talpa, or so they think. The show was very well made, and has some nice morals. One of my favorite lines from my favorite episode is: "To win, we must have Trust, Wisdom, and Justice merge with Lifeforce! Then I will have the Power!" That was when the Ronins were defeated by Talpa in the first season, and Wildfire's calling on the guiding virtues of his friends to help him rise again. Together, they form the Inferno Armor, one of the most powerfull armors ever made. The ancient one gives up his life so the Ronins can enter Talpa's dark domain. The second season focuses on the return of Talpa, and the new Ancient one.

There are four other armors, which are worn by the Dark Warlords. All nine armors were created from Talpa's armor, and therefore connected, but they can all choose how. The five ronins were swayed by good, while the dark warlords were corrupted by Talpa. One of them, Anubis, turns against Talpa and becomes the new Ancient One.

I know I gave too much spoilers, but I love the show so much! I miss it so much! :'( :'( :'(

Sounds a bit like a lord of the rings rip off to me!

I vaugely remember something about it now but im not sure why...i think it was the armors that triggered it. Maybe i have seen it and forgotten all about it... ???

If you want, I can direct you to the intro, where you can see if it triggers more. You can find the trailer on http://www.toonamiarsenal.com, by going into the downloads section and looking for Ronin Warriors, and then click on US Intro. You can't view it right there, which is unfortunate, but that's the way the site is.

No. It's not on TV anymore. It only lasted two seasons plus 3 OVAs. It's not in re-runs either. You won't find it on TV unless some country other than the US is showing it. I do wish that they still had it. They even took the Complete Collection off the market. I'm probably the only person who even owns the thing! I do miss it though :'(. And how was that improper grammer? :P

I've watched the show. Not to the point I'd even know how many seasons it ran, or the details of the storyline, but I've watched it.

I consider it a decent show, not great, but decent(keeping in mind I think it ranks well above most modern American cartoons). If you want to talk about it further, I'm willing to, but I honestly don't know what I could add to the conversation(as I can't even remember the names of the characters at this point).

Too true.

I was just trying to point out that I don't think it's a bad show. ;)

It's one of the best shows ever made in my opinion. It aired around 1995 or 2000. So it's not like the shows today! And I'm happy for that! The shows today are kinda bad. Like Ed, Edd, and Eddy. I can't stand that show! No offense to any fans of it here!

The god's have answered a prayer! You're the only other human being who's ever heard of the show, from whom I know... If you want to own every ep ever made, go to amazon, I think they have a few collections lying around there somewhere...
