I was wondering if the song Greensleeves which was featured in the first KQ games as the main theme and was said (in the KQ Companion) to be the anthem of Graham's court, will make an appearence in TSL?
Hmmm, would be a nice nod to the series' humble beginnings.
I support this idea!
It would be a nice idea, but I'm not sure they could use Mark Seibert's version without getting another C&D letter. :P Granted, they could always make a new version, but frankly it would prolong the game's release. (We really don't want to wait longer than we have to :P)
Oh! But imagine what Austin or Nick could compose!!!!
"Greensleeves" is a very old song and is probably in public domain. As long as PO used an original version of the song, no copyright laws would be broken.
I like this idea, DMD. It'd be especially exciting if this is the song we hear when first booting the game. *chills!*
Greensleeves is not part of the current soundtrack, but I can think of a place or two where to include it ;)
So..... maybe we'll bring it back :)
That would be great, since it'll tie in the older games with this one :)
If Greensleeves were to be included in the game, I think I'd like to see it incorporated into the game in a less-than-overt fashion. For example, a character could wind up a jewelry box and it plays the tune, rather than have it actually accompany a scene as part of the score.

Yeah, and then Greensleeves would fade into a darker, original theme...That would be so awesome :D
This is gonna be awesome. But look at what Cesar said:

That means that originally they DID have it.
I think he means "bring it back to the series." As in, it was the theme for the first few KQ games.
Oh. Well as long as it's in there I'll be happy.
Nobody even knows who originally composed Greensleeves. XD It goes back to the period of King Henry the Eighth, is all I know.

It does. It's said he composed it for his second wife, Anne Boylen. Some people think, he had someone compose it for him, but his reputation as an accomplished musician dictates otherwise.
awwww. and then he killed her. how sweet.
He killed her on the grounds that she was an adultress both with her brother and her musician :P (besides he stuck with her for two years, which is a lot more than he did with Anne of Cleeves)
yeah, well kings can make up whatever they want. she was my namesake's mommy, i'm partial, what can i say.
anyhoo, putting the song in this game would be hot. way appropriate. i'll be keeping my ears perked up. (of course, the original soundtrackery sounds fabulous thus far ANYWAY) ;D
Or we could put it in backwards and call it Redsleeves. ;)

XD
That would sound horrible :P
I too would like to see this song incorporated into the game. As Amayirot Akago put it:

If you have an MP3 of the song you an probably edit it into the game. :D Note that I'm not a computer geek and this only applies to my experience with a couple of games.
I think if greensleeves was added to this game it would be absolutely amazing. It would really be the little finishing touch that makes the game. I hope it gets included into the beginning - then it would really fit the series and just make it perfect. Although we wouldn't have the Sierra logo/music/sparkles that I know I love, haha.
I doubt it will as the demo is basically the begininning to the game as well, minus super spoilers. :P
And I think QuestStudios may have an MP3 of it...
I guess that makes sense - with the menu and everything. But who knows!
Torque doesn't support mp3, so if you guys want to make audio mods, you'll need to conver to *.ogg format (and use the same filenames we have in there XD).
just fyi, Greensleeves absolutely IS public domain, so it is completely legal to use it. There is a website that lists all songs that are public domain (http://www.pdinfo.com/list.htm) and Greensleeves sure enough is there. I am a musician and had to look it up a few years ago when I was thinking of including a version of it in an album that I was working on at the time. So yes, you should definitely try to work it in. :) I also agree with the poster who said that it'd be nice to have it snuck in there covertly (like the music box example) rather than as part of the actual score.
