I actually had gotten all the expansion packs except for Makin' Magic. Yeah, I was obsessed at one time. Though I haven't played it in at least a year now... :P

I have every single sims expansion ever made in human history, and barely play them! That includes the Sims 2! I do like the expansions for like an hour, and then I'm bored...

SimCity2000 was the worst case of false advertising ever. They said that there would be aliens and ufos, but instead we got a dancing spider robot known as "Monster". :P

Buy sims 2, because the character creation ten times better than that of sims one... You can literally mold their face the way you want! I made a bug eyed freak! (I'm not kidding! I just don't have pics...)

I mostly played the Sims 2 because it was 2 player and it made it so I could do something with my cousin that didn't involve wanting to punch her. ;P

I meant the PC version! I have the PS2 version, and I think it was a waste of time personally! I got bored in about the same amount of time!

I find Sims exceedingly dull. They should be able to handle bodily functions on their own dangit. :P

Now, if you could set a daily *schedule*  for them that they could deviate from as needed (ie spontaneous actions you throw in), that could work... :D Much better than telling a bunch of idiots to poop 24/7.

Sims 2 is the best. They've announced The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff. (It's a stuff pack, not an expansion pack. Two very different things.) The next expansion is The Sims 2: Pets! Go pets! Pets will also be on console from what I hear, which is quite dissapointing to me... Anyway, that's it for now...

Sims 2 was the best! It was the most i've ever anticipated a game, until now with TSL.

The Sims Wii looks strangely cute, and interesting. I will play the sims on the Wii to try it out before saying it may be bad. A lot of people say it will be bad, but remember to never judge a book by it's cover...
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: tessspoon on November 30, 2006, 07:53:23 AM
the sims is on wii?  :o I don't think I'd like it though, I don't like the console sim games ... or console games in general for that matter.
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: Jafar on November 30, 2006, 11:35:06 AM
I don't think it makes sense to put The Sims on the consoles. Then you can't use expansion packs! :P I never did like The Sims though, so whatever. :P
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: MangoMercury on November 30, 2006, 12:02:06 PM
I like the first one..  Have the complete collection.  The second one bored me, it was too complex!

I also have Sim City, Sim Farm and SIM ANT.  Heck yes.
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: tessspoon on November 30, 2006, 12:08:42 PM
I like the second one, particularly the aging part. That way you're not just controlling the same sims forever and ever anymore, there's actually a time limit to it. I can't play the first one anymore, its too different. When the second one gets to complex for me is when you add the million expansion packs to it. (Although I still want to try Sims Pets, haven't gotten it yet.)

heres my 2 cents on games-if its possible to do in real life(ex. sims, flight sims), then do it in real life.  its much more fun.

I got the Sims: Life Stories, and it has classic free play, but it also has a brand spankin' new STORY MODE. I haven't tried the story mode yet, but free play is lacking. The lot sizes only go up to medium. The good thing is that you start with double the amount of simoleans that you usaully do, and all the cheats from the Sims 2 games and expansions work, just about. Family Funds is in it, plus Motherlode. I love Motherlode. It's my favorite. I am assuming that you have to unlock more lot sizes, but I have no proof to this. The Sims 2: Seasons expansion Pack was released yesterday, but I won't be getting it for a while due to lack of funds. If only I could put in Motherlode in real life! XD

ive heard story mode is just free play with specific scenarios
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: racx_00 on March 01, 2007, 05:30:23 AM
I heard it is for beginners and story mode is like the scenarios from the console versions of the Sims.
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: Rosella on March 01, 2007, 05:58:17 PM
Well, considering my PS2 version has story mode, I'd assume it's similar. XD I really like it though. :P
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: dark-daventry on March 02, 2007, 05:34:07 AM
I haven't played either version's story mode enough to make a decision! (I've played the PS2 story mode minimally, and the PC I haven't played at all. XD) But free play is kind of dissapointing... No Jumbosized lots to use my cheats on! XD

Just a spoof of the sims games, like how stupid the AI can be at times and how unrealistic some of the movements are. I liked the repo man and the burglar at the end; that really is how it looks when the take stuff. Poof! It just disappears.

Well, it's been quite a while, but here is some Sims updates for you all!

The Sims 3 is confirmed to be in development!

Simcity Societies has been officially announced and will be out in November of this year!

The Sims 2: Bon Voyage expansion pack has been announced and will be released this september.

A new Stuff Pack has been found online. I forget the name, but it has to do with teens.

The Sims 2 Castaway will be released on the Wii, Playstation 2 and Nintendo DS sometime this year. To be honest, I forget when...

Mysims will be released on the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS in september, I think. I am not one hundred percent positive...

So that's all I've got for the moment. I could've been much more detailed, but oh well... XD

I'm looking forward to how My Sims works out. It's certainly an interesting idea.

(Posted on: August 08, 2007, 02:37:38 PM)

I thought that I'd revive this thread to tell you all about 5 new Sims games, and the release date of Spore. Though not entirely sims, it is made by the creator of the sims. EA has now announced Sim Animals, SimCity Creator, My Sims Party, My Sims Kingdom, and The Sims Next Gen (or Sims 3, if you wish to interperate it like that...) I got this info from http://www.thesims2.co.za (I once again forgot how to do the cool HTML code thing... It's sad really... I should make a thread for HTML codes and everything...) Anyway, I just thought It'd be good to post this here for you to enjoy. Oh, and Spore is coming out September 7th in the U.S., and MySims is going to the PC... Anyway, enjoy this info!

September?  That so far away... :P but at least it finally has a release date. !!!
Title: Re: The sims thread!
Post by: dark-daventry on February 13, 2008, 12:51:06 PM
I'm so excited for it! They also revealed a new movie for it. It doesn't show off any game play, but it's more like an official trailer for the game. It sounds and looks almost like a Movie trailer. September will be here before we know it, hopefully. I'm interested in seeing what Sim Animals is. I really want to see how they intend to do that. I have a suspicion that Sim Animals is a game where you play AS an animal... But of course that's just my random speculation based on the title. Now I've got to save up my money for all of this! And I also have the feeling that a Spore Expansion Pack is inevitable... I'm concerned mainly about the system specs of that game. My comp may not be able to run it. Strangely, it doesn't really have a video card. It takes memory from the CPU to render graphics. If/When I get a new comp (AKA when my dad buys a new one) I'll make sure that it has a good graphics card in it to run high end games... But back to the sims... The Sims 2: Freetime Expansion pack will be out later this month (February 26th) in the U.S., and The Sims 2: Kitchen and Bathroom Interior Design Stuff will be out in either April or March. I hope I have money for both of them... XD

I remember the first time I played The Sims when I was twelve. I had played a little of simcity, and I was talking to my dad about it while we driving home one day. He was telling me he had some other sim games, but the one I was very interested was The Sims. He wouldn't let me play them though for a while, just to give me something to look forward to or something like that. But I was so interested that the next day while he was at work I went through all the cds in the office, found it, and started playing it anyways. He wasn't too happy when he found out, but it was too late; I was already addicted. :P
