I was in math today, and had this great idea. My grade was in New Hampshire, and I was one of fifteen boys who stayed behind, and so I had to go to class... But, besides that, I was doing tons of brain teasers in Math today, and just thought I'd make a thread on it... And so start posting some brain teasers! Here's one: How many suffers does it take to get Neil to reveal a spoiler? XD

I never reveal spoilers, period. :P But Deloria's correct and here's the proof:
Let x = # suffers
Let y = # spoilers
In general, x >= y. But t(x) < t(y), where t(z) is the time when either a suffer or a spoiler is said. It should be pointed out that: t(y) - t(x) = x
So, the time between a spoiler is said and a suffer is:
x = { :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: ... }
Since that time is expressed as an infinite series, the number of suffers is infinite. :suffer:

I had one earlier... There is a boat which must cross a river. The boat is so small it can only hold one adult, one child, or two children. You can't have an adult and a child in one boat. How many trips would it take to get everyone across? There are 8 adults and 2 children.

Has anyone ever heard of 24? The game, not the show. :P Like, you have 4 numbers on a pretty card and you have to add, subtract, multiply or divide to make 24. It's REALLY addictive, and I've gone to two district 24 tournaments. An example might be 8, 3, 3, 9. 8-3 is 5. 5*3 is 15. 15+9 is 24. There are always lots of other ways to solve cards, (like 8+3=11, 11*3=33, 33-9=24,) but it's always really fun. XD
Here's a hard one, 8, 8, 3, 3. :P

Do the numbers have to be used in sequence, and are only integers allowed in each step? If the answer to both is no, you could say that 8/3 = 2.67, 2.67*3=8, 8*3=24

According to my calculations, if the plane was on the ground, the albatross would have to be at an elevation of 1.51^10 meters, or 1/10 of the distance to the sun. In other words, if an object wants to cast a shadow of an object ten times lager than it must be one tenth closer to the light source. Am I right?
