I just got the specs from my dad on the digitizer pad he ordered me since he says I need it for my art! And it's totally awesome!  ;D And should be here around Wednesday!  ;D *happy dances*

Grandma is finally feeling somewhat human.
My laptop seems to have recovered nicely from this last stroke.
Saturday Farq and I are going to see a concert, if my aunt can ever get us the tickets.
THe 30th is just plain going to be great!
My sunburns finally gone for the most part, now I'm just a little pink.
I got my hair dyed, and am adding in red streaks later.
I'm going to get a strange new and bizarre haircut in a bt.
(there will be pictures this time I promise.)
I get to buy some new shoes.
And best of all, I get to see Wil again.  :smitten:

My strange haircut doesn't look so strange unless I pull it back.
Saturday was very painful, but very worth it.
The ebil sunburn is back, :( on the back of my neck anyway, I sweated off all the 50 sunblock in the 104 plus degree weather. :P
I love my new shoes!!! But my feet are too swollen atm to wear them. ;P
Aiden comes back in November and I will see them again.  :sweetheart:

I have a sort of question for anyone who can answer...because this is really been bothering me.

I have a friend, one of my bestest  in the whole world, and her life hasn't been going real well lately, so she is ALWAYS down. I have tried everything I can think of to cheer her up, but nothing seems to work for longer than a minute or two, and it's driving me mad (well madder than I already was at any rate) and I have now officially ran out of ideas since absolutely nothing works any longer.  :'(
So please if anyone has any idea before I end up collapsing from emotional drainage please let me know.

I'd love to help, but without knowing the friend, what is wrong with her or anything I can't say much.  :-\ Sorry.

I'd have to go with petra, but I assume you rather not discuss too specifically what's wrong.... All I can say is try your absolute best to help her... Sorry I am not of much help. I hope that everything works out okay!

Hmm... well, it sort of depends on what the problem is, but usually if whatever you're trying isn't working, it means that person needs to solve the problem for themselves.  I suggest just giving them some space, but be sure to let her know that you're still there for her, in case she changes her mind. :)

I agree with Yonkey too. Sometimes giving someone space is a good idea, especially when they feel down.  ;)

Thanks for the help guys, *hugs* unfortunately I have tried giving her space to work it out on her own. She REFUSES to give me any space :P
And If I'm not online then she'll just call me...
I am at my wits end with this one, I am perfectly capable of handling a little negativity and pessimism myself, heck I am a very skilled pessimist. :P
But lately it has been a constant non-stop barrage of "the world is out to get me, I should just give up now" from her and it's starting to really wear me down. :(
But since this is the only place I frequent that she can't find me *hides*
hopefully I can just put it out of my mind for now.

Happy pills are from the asylum's second floor. :D I'm afraid you can't have one, CC confiscated and destroyed them after I started flying around and had a generally very strange reaction to them. :'(

Farq and I had rented almost the whole series from Blockbuster before it shut down, but we never found Disc 4 :P
So now I'm just going to try to buy them all.

I haven't seen any episodes of Hellsing. :-\

That's weird though, I've never heard of a Blockbuster store shutting down, unless they're relocating. XD

I think they relocated, but where to is anyone's guess. Lately all of the stores and whatnot have been leaving our town for bigger and better places :P  It really sucks when you usually depend on your own two feet to get around.
After the 4th (i think) of December, we're even losing our grocery store. :P

If I wasn't so opposed to moving I'd think that maybe I should follow some of these places. XD

At the moment our area is changing from a country like town. I mean it's good because we get heaps of stores to buy DVDs etc. But it's bad because they are cutting down trees to build houses and accommodate for 3000 more people. :(

I know I shouldn't let it get to me but it does. I worked very hard on a picture for a contest on DA and not one single person has voted for me. :(
I don't really need the prize anyway, but it still would've been nice to receive at least one vote. I don't know why it gets to me so much, I guess I just want to be recognized for my art work as it is what I want to do with my life someday as a career. :P
Farq keeps saying that he'll log on and vote for me, but whether or not he gets to it before the day is through is anyone's guess.

I've thought about spamming all of my online friends and bugging them until they voted for me, but I don't just want votes to get votes, I just would like for somebody else to enjoy looking at my picture as much as I enjoyed drawing him.

See, that's my problem exactly. :P Which is why my current musical tastes run to one of two music groups or solo-work from the artists in said groups.

I can think of some good metal bands to get into but it depends if they're your type.

Anyway I'd recommend Disturbed, Spineshank, Mudvayne, Pantera and Rammstein.

I could go on but... yeah. :P

I recommend Sugarcult. They're a lot like The Academy Is... :D

Okay, now that I've gotten that somewhat out of my system :P I will clue everyone in as to why I'm such a happy girl.

As you may or may not have noticed, I have been very sporatic in my visits here, but I have had a lot going on in my life.
One of the many things that has been keeping me quite busy is that I have been helping my older brother with random things (mostly making banners and whatnot) for his INet radio show. Well on Tuesday, I recieved some very exciting news.
Coming soon on every Thursday, I will be cohosting a show with a good friend of mine, spotlighting all of the Finnish bands that we so love.

I am sad about the fact that it will likely keep me from here more and more, at least in the beginning until I can get this hosting thing down, but I am so excited!!!! I was literally bouncing off the walls darn near when I heard the news, and I still haven't quite calmed down. :P

To answer the question that seems to interest everyone:

Yes, anyone and everyone should be able to tune in, up to 25 listeners at the moment :P ...until Fox gets a bigger server anyway.

Not sure yet when the show will start airing, possibly on the Thursday after next... but I'm not positive yet.

Unfortunately I am not positive yet what time slot our show will fill, that is sort of up to the heads of the station, but I can let all of you know when I get that information.

Anyway, the music is all from different bands all over Finland, and all types of music will be played. If Dj Blackrose and I can get it, we will play it. :)

I have already been in contact with some of the bands from Finland, and a lot of them have agreed to/and been sending us music. :D so it should be pretty fun! ;D

The show is called FinnAddix, and we (me and my new roommate) spotlight music groups from Finland, and we will be on every Thursday at 5 pm eastern for an hour.
Not sure how the time zones work out for anything else, I just know that I was told 5 eastern which is 3 my time. :P

Oh, if you've done it before then it should all come back to you pretty quick.  You might be nervous for the first few minutes, but after that it'll become more and more natural. :) By the end of it, you'll be wondering how the time flew by so quickly! XD

I wish it was downloadable, but right now its only available through streaming...and I guess a problem has been found and sometimes it has trouble opening through programs other than winamp. :P
If it isn't one thing its another... but I know some of my friends don't have winamp and have been able to listen just fine... so I guess it's just sort of touch and go at the moment.
Anyway... still trying to battle with nerves, but we tested again last night and it went pretty well. :)

Kay, now that I got that out of the way lol, can I just say that the first show was a lot of fun! :D
There were a few ups and downs at the beginning but me and my co-DJ and room mate were able to get everything straightened out.
Even though we were supposed to only be on for an hour, the station manager told us to keep going for as long as we'd like, so we ended up clocking right around 3 1/2 hours.
Next week he wants us to do a longer show again. :D

Though there is a lot of work we need to do to get ready for it so we can avoid some of the last minute craziness of today and so that we can get used to a new server.

We're still waiting to hear back with what our peak on listeners was, guess there has been some computer problems on the stations end, but I think we did alright....and I know that one of the members of one of the bands we featured was actually tuned in to the show, they were on msn with Blackrose for most of the show. :)

Anywho, just wanted to thank all of my friends here that were able to tune in, and say I hope you will again. :D

Been a while since I've been here, but life has been hectic lately.
Between all the ups and downs of trying to keep the radio show going, including losing the server for a bit, canceling one show at least and now having a new day and time, I've been beginning to wonder if its worth it to continue. Plus I have this feeling that I am starting to be phased out of the show a bit. So who knows...

Plus as some of you may know, I have a room mate, who happens to be my co-DJ and I'm not really going to get into that side of things much here, though some of you know how life with her has been as well.

Uhm anyway, I'm not going to be spinning for a bit, not been feeling my best and had enough dizzy spells without the aid of spinning round and round.
Anyway, if any of you are interested, there is now a new server and date and time for FinnAddix and since I am too lazy to type it all out, I will just copy and paste from the bulleton here, please excuse the shouting but Blackrose likes typing in caps. :P

HERE IS THE NEW SERVER TO LISTEN TO THE SHOW....http://s5.viastreaming.net/7700/ THE SERVER HAS BEEN UPGRADED AND THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO LISTEN...WINAMP, MEDIA PLAYER, I-TUNES, QUICK TIME, REAL ONE PLAYER, AND VIDEO LAN PLAYER.


The new day and time is Sundays, 4 pm PST 7 pm EST. I have no idea how all of that works out to everyone elses time zones, I just know its at 5 my time. :P

Because of company bigwigs, I may no longer have my radio show after next month. :(

They are trying to get rid of all internet broadcasting as a whole, or at least make us play loads and loads of money if we want to continue. According to something my boss at the station said, even if I wasn't going to play any music any more and just was going to talk on the air, I'd still have to pay 250.00 for everyone who tuned in to listen. :(
There is no way I can afford to do that. I don't know many people who can. :(

And even worse, from what I understand this isn't going to affect just internet radio, but any web-casting at all, so it includes sites like YouTube which my little sister lives for, and videos and things uploaded to myspace.
Basically anything that is uploaded for others to watch or listen to online by anyone who isn't part of one of the multi-million dollar companies. They don't understand that we are not getting paid for what we are doing. :( This has become an effort of love for everyone at my station at the very least, and it is not a cheap one for us to do, but we have still been hanging out with our listeners and playing music because we love doing it. If all of these laws go through it's all going to end. :'( :'( :'(

The current cut off date is May 15th, but the head of FoxFM is going to keep all of us on air until May 31st, so that we have a chance to say goodbye.
This has been fought and fought inside of congress, and we are still fighting, but right now it looks bleak.
The sad thing is, through my show I have actually been in contact with a lot of bands personally that have asked us to play their music. Most of these bands are small and independent and no one else is willing to play them yet since they haven't made it big. And a lot of them have had a growing fan comunity that has gotten larger thanks to the fact that we have been playing them.

I know there is a lot of rules regarding political talk and everything on this forum, so if this post works out to be that, a mod can feel free to delete it. But I needed to get some of this out of my system so that I can at least try to enjoy what is left of my show if we should end up losing the battle.

Aww, sorry to hear that Zelly. :(  I guess they're charging these fees so that the record companies can cash-in on the whole internet broadcasting thing. ::)

 :'( Sorry to hear the Zelly. It's definitely not fair and hopefully things will turn out ok. I don't know what they're thinking because they're not going to get much money from it because no one, ok Very few, can afford to pay that. It's just not right.

In the place where I live there is a pirate channel that's legal,
but they share it whit Germany because I live near that border. :D
From morning till afternoon they play many songs that no other company plays and afther the afternoon it's up for the germans music. :thumbsup:

Then again if in your country it becomes illegal to play music whitout paying a ridiculous sum of money per year, some people will start do it in secret. :sneaky:

Can't believe its been so long since I've been here. Well, actually I can :P but I just didn't realize just how long it had been.
A lot has changed in my life. The radio show went away. :( But for totally different reasons than what we thought might happen. A big part of it was the sudden realization that the people we were working for and with, were not only annoying, but were also quick to jump at the chance to gang up on anyone who didn't quite fit into their little clique. >:(
Also, my life has become a great deal more hectic lately, and I just didn't have the time for giving the show the attention it and our listeners deserved.

I am back in school. *spins and does happy dance* So in January of 2009 I will have my degree in Graphic Arts. :D
It's taking a bit of getting used to, but all in all I am still having a lot of fun.
Though I still do not understand why, as I graphic artist, I need to have more knowledge of American History than I do already. :P

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted anything here. :P

As some of you may or may not know, I injured my knee back in August and because of this my life in some ways is even more hectic than it was before. :P

I have not been to school regularly since, in fact I haven't attended at all since the second week of October.
I may or may not need surgery/physical therapy, that all depends on what last Friday's MRI says.
If I do need one or both I may end up disappearing again for a while, though I really hope not. Especially because of certain contests that have come into being that I am finally eligible for.

And even though I don't like the sound of getting work done on my knee at the same time I would like to be able to find out why it isn't healing like it should. I never realized just how long 3 and 1/2 months really was until I had to live with my leg in a brace, and have limited mobility etc.

Hopefully I will be getting good news soon *crosses fingers* though I still don't understand why my results have to go through three or four other people before I get to find out whats going on. :stars:

Anyway, I wanted to tell everyone I'm sorry I haven't been able to be here more often as I really really miss the old days when I was able to spend at least an hour or two every day visiting.
I miss you all! *huggles*
