Title: Thank You
Post by: TheReturnofDMD on June 16, 2006, 12:32:27 PM
I finally got the Making of TSL video to work, and I must say, I am greatly impressed. Watching how the game has evolved and how you've built it, you guys are truly doing something great, and even looking at the preliminary videos I can see that once completed, this game is going to look beautiful, and from you guys tell of it and show, it is definately going to be an epic and a true journey into the world of King's Quest. Keep up the good work guys!

PS- Two questions: The music used in the Making of Video, is that music from the game? If so, it creates a good atmosphere.
And also, the scene with Saladin and Graham in the main room of The Castle of the Crown, that isn't a finished scene is it? Because I don't know if it's my computer but it looks slightly awkward, like Saladin's mouth isn't moving when he speaks (or it's moving only very slightly when he speaks). It doesnt look like the screenshot in the media section, so it leads me to believe that that was an earlier version of that scene. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, best of luck. All in all it looks awesome and I can't wait to play it!

Yup, all music played in that trailer is original and created by our composers. :)

Actually, a lot of the animation in that video has been improved quite a bit since its creation (October 2005).  As Deloria mentioned, the sound was a bit out of sync (or a lot, depending on how slow your computer is at processing DivX vids :P), and the volume levels being inconsistent is what kinda irks me about it. :P  But considering we were under a huge time crunch to get it all done, I think it's pretty well done. :)

Hahahah!  He probably did! :cesar:

Keep in mind that we made this video as part of our proposal to VU, so it's quite specific to Shadows.  I can see us doing more interviews in the future. :) Who knows, maybe I'll have the time to actually be in those too. ;P

I just got to see it myself, I've been way behind on seeing the vast amount of goodies the team has released. XD

And, woohoo, I'm in the Making Of video! I couldn't be happier! :D

Wow!!  I just watched the "Making Of" video and that is amazing!!  This game is more than just another computer game.  To me it is an Epic Adventure and probably 90% of that adventure is the creation.  Coming up with ideas, creating those ideas, and giving a finished product to all the fans.  My only wish is that I was able to do more on the team than just Web/PR (not that Web/PR is not important) (that was for Neil :P :D ).....  But seriously, this is so amazing to me to see a group of people from all over the world come together, without pay, and create such a great product.  It still amazes me everytime I think about it.....

What?? *fires Donny* XD

;P But yeah, I know what you mean.  When I first entered the team I was seriously amazed by the quality of work each director and staff member put into this project, and for free!  That's how I knew this thing had the potential to become really huge someday, and still does. 8)
