This is a topic for recommandations & reviews of adventure games. If you have any, post them here!!! ;D ;D ;D
If not, I'll just post mine here and it's going to be pretty boring :'( :'( :'( :( :( :(
I always wanted to play that game and never got my hands on it...!
Recommend a game? hmmm... of course!:
King's Quest IX!!! :D
but... seriously..... if you want me to recommend a game with ALL my heart, I will then go ahead and tell you about my fav series:
GABRIEL KNIGHT!!!!!!!
First game starts with vodoo, then we have the second which is my fav, and a classic-horror werewolves game (very Anne Rice-ish), and the third game is more like an Agatha Christie mistery with Vampires. However, I must say that the stories are so twisted and incredible that I tell you: THIS IS A GAME EVERY ADVENTURE LOVER MUST GET. Why do I say "twisted". Well, in the third game, yes, we have Vampires, but not your regular kind of vampires... more like alchemist vampires after the blood of Jesus..... it gets better :)
They are also a nice way to learn interesting facts about different places in the world and their cultures.
THEY RULE!
Just get them :)
César
Very funny, oh mighty C'sar, always tooting you own horn!! Â ;D
(Is that the right expression? I'm never quite sure... Â :-[)
You can find "Eric the Unready" (and many other abandonware games) at:

I also like Gabriel Knight. I have 1 & 2 but I never finished #1 because the game gets stuck at a certain point and wouldn't work. I wrote sierra about it but they didn't answer me  :'(
I loved #2. I don't understand what some people have against its real-video style, I liked it a lot, even if it did mean playing with 6 disks... Â 8)
#3 I only played the demo  ::)
well I don't :)
Gabriel Knight 2 is my fav adventure game EVER!
Ok...it's pretty outdated, but I really used to enjoy playing the ECO - Quest series: Search for Cetus and Lost Secret of the Rainforest. Ever heard of em?
Actually as far as games went in the 80s they wern't very popular, except a little in Australia! I just loved the beautiful (for those days) graphics and the wonderful (also for those days) music!!!!! ::)
I also loved the whole adventure "game/complicated/interesting plot thing"...you know!
It was also quite tricky and intriuging, and no matter what the psycologists say about computer learning - I actually learnt from that game (problem solving, the environment, etc.) It was loads of fun!!!!
I wish they still did them! I just loved the adventure gaming way of playing....I still can't figure out why adventure games never were very popular??? :-[
Well...as my rating goes....for those days:
****1/2
(4 and a half stars, that is). :)
