Title: I've Fallen Down the Stairs Club ~ Part Deux
Post by: Mary Jane on June 26, 2006, 01:20:06 AM
Ok, as many of you know, I have fallen down the stairs.  I did it when I was only a baby.  The basement door was accidentally left open, so I took my stroller for a ride. it was head, wheels, head, wheels all the way down.

A few years ago, I joined together with some who had been through similiar experiences.  These brave people, Celli, Storm, Mango, Koko, and myself, banded together to form the I've Fallen Down the Stairs Club.

What many of you may not know is, it happened to me again recently, and this one, couldn't have happened at a better time.  It was the last day of high school. I had just finished my last class, and taken my last exam.  I stepped out of the class room, tripped, and slid down the stairs.  I barreled into a happy couple who, thankfully, were able to slow my descent.

In honor of this sacred occurence in my life, I am starting a campaign to renew the public's interest in this club!  Come, share your stories of fights with gravity upon stairways.  Here is another thing many of you probably don't know.  Our friend, LouisianaNight has just come out and confessed to me that he has fallen down the stairs before.  I applaud your bravery gentle sir!  For that, you have garner yourself a seat in the I've Fallen Down the Stairs Club.

Hehe, Three Cheers!!!
Now, don't party too hard, I wouldn't want you getting hurt and having the whole forum come down on me in revenge. ;)

I too fell down the stairs, before work, ironically enough.  It was a few months back though, but it still scarred me emotionally.

I fall UP the stairs...does that count?

We feel your  pain Mango.

Jafar:  Falling up the stairs is a serious manner as well.  If you have really gone through the pain of an upward stairwell lateral inversal, then you can be an honorary member.  Since the is the I've Fallen DOWN the Stairs Club (How many times am I gonna have to type that tonight?), you can not be a full member until you have fallen, tripped, or slid down the stairs.

Does riding down the stairs in a box and crashing at the bottom count?  :suffer:

There is a solution to every problem Jafar...

Why don't you find yourself a nice flight of stairs, and get your sister to push you? ;P
I think it's against the law to have stairs in Sweeny. :P

I've been pushed down the stairs several times!

My brother found it amusing somehow. :P Once he convinced me to clean out my toybox and get inside, and he'd push me around. "No! You're going to push me down the stairs!" "No I won't!" "Yes you will!" "No I won't!" "Fine..." *gets in, bump bump bump crash* Technically, I had a protective shell, but my 2 front teeth came loose, and they were my only adult ones! XD

If the fact that I had a vessel prevents me from joining this club, my brother has pushed me down the stairs before in more direct ways. :P

Me and my sisters used to slide down the stairs in pillows.  :D

And yes, I have fallen down the stairs regularly before, but I was good at tucking and rolling so I managed to get up with nary a scratch.

I almost fell down a week ago. The stairs were slippery and I kind of stumbled but caught myself, does that count? :P

When I was little I accidentally somersaulted down the stairs. OUCH! Funnily enough I didn't cry. I just got up and was like...Ouch.

So THIS is the infamous "I've Fallen Down the Stairs Club." I've slid down the stairs in sleeping bags, fallen up the stairs, and fallen down the stairs on several occasions. The other week, I slipped on a stair, fell backwards, and comically slid down the rest of the way, injuring only the tip of my pinky for some strange reason. I conclude that stairs are pure evil, second only to doors that don't have twistable doorknobs (my arch nemeses >:( ).

I have injured myself so many times trying to open doors (for instance: pushing doors that are supposed to be pulled and vice versa, running into a door I didn't know was locked, being hit by unusually heavy doors after passing through them, mistaking a regular door for an automatic door and running into it, etc). Usually they're doors you find in schools or other public buildings. I hate them so. :(

Ah. I hate it when I push or pull when its the opposite as well. :P

Does deux mean two? I tried to "define: deux" in google and it didn't come up with any english translations.

At play practive once, I slipped on my cape down the stairs, and one time I accindentally somersaulted (sp?) down the stairs, I've also slid down on pillows/blankets into pillows/blankets!

I seem to have more problems with stairs that are only one or two steps long than actual staircases for some reason. :P

Although I did actually fall down the stairs at my house just last weekend. I think I prefer falling down the short starcases.

Yep, it's french for "two".

I've also done that push or pull when you're supposed to do the opposite. :P  Usually it doesn't take more than a few seconds to notice though. XD

I have fallen on my butt down a few steps but I've fallen UP the stairs several times....It always happens on a staircase I'm "used to" climbing so I do the little "jog up the steps" and I miss a step and slam down both feet and then land on my forearms on the stairs.....I think I hit my face and bit into my tongue to draw blood once.

I don't think I've ever fallen down stairs before...  I've almost tripped on flat ground though, particularly when it's icy. :P

Here's a tip. When you come to a door that needs to be pushed or pulled...look at the door hinge. If you see it, then you pull, if you don't, then you push :)

I haven't fallen down any stairs recently. I DID sprain my ankle when I was in high school - I missed the bottom few stairs.

Although I cannot bring to mind any recent misadventures, I recall one time when I was around 7 years old.

For some reason, I was holding on shut the door at the top stairs (on the stairwell side), when someone opened the door. I lost my hold on the knob, and fell backwards down the stairs. Needless to say, I didn't try that again. :P

Awesome XD

I slipped on the last stair of the our staircase at home during Thanksgiving break. Didn't fall, luckily, though even slipping down one step is still scary. :P
