This is what I believe could happen in the Silver Lining, and is certainly what I want to happen. A final battle between Alexander and Mannannan, an awesome battle, good against evil. Who will prevail? Please enjoy!
The Final Battle
The two met, eyes unflinching, still and steady, the light of the dying embers of the coal brazier reflecting the passion and hatred they had for one another. They were statues, ornaments and chess pieces for the gods to move, the question was, who would advance first. Alexander surveyed his old tormentor, the stretched skin over the empty, hollow skull. Mannannan was the same as he had remembered though something of the cat that he had so been transformed into still remained. It was those piercing eyes ablaze, shining out of the darkness, unblinking, green and wide. Alexander flinched as he felt the cold, empty stair course into his flesh like a dagger, turning and twisting pain that stung him. But he would not yield, he would not falter, his wizened Nemesis returned the same thoughts.
The very evil that coursed through his mind, the ancient veins that pumped the flow of darkness about his body to his evil brain, the energy source of his wickedness and deceit. Alexander was no longer the same boy who had served under Mannannan's tyrannical regime. "So boy" his enemy boomed, the same threatening, omnipotent voice that had haunted Alexander's nightmares for longer than he could remember. "I see that you are no longer the pathetic wretch you once were. Yield now, you cannot hope to defeat me, I am darkness incarnate. I am the hell in which spirits dread. I serve Father Shadrack as his most loyal servant, and it was he that granted us this confrontation that I have desired for so long." Alexander felt the chill of his words up and down his spine, and they caused him to shudder horribly, marking his weakness to Mannannan. "Where is my father?" He retorted, calm and ready, wand pointed in threatening manner towards Mannannan's ancient structure. "That old fool is with Shadrack, you will be joining him shortly."
Alexander stood defiant till the end "No, he will fight. He will win. Your dear Father Shadrack has weakness, he is still human. Just like your brother. He fought him, he destroyed him!" At the reminiscing convulsion of his brother, Mannannan's eyes glared to slits, unsettling him and creating his anger to higher heights. "How dare of you speak of Mordack!" And with that, protruded his wand that had so surreptitiously been concealed beneath his dark cloak, "Dragokal!" He screeched, and a venomous serpent writhed out of the end, black coils sliding and coiling about Alexander's body like fetters and chains of iron. "Eaglefly!" Alexander whispered as he felt his lungs and bones grind under the strain of the snake. A brilliant eagle of flame and light soared from the dying brassier, clawed the serpent out from around Alexander, and pecked downward into its evil brain, until the coils just twitched, and the serpent turned to nothing. The bird returned to its nest of the dying braziers and suck back down.
Mannannan smiled for the first time, revealing his vampire like fangs. "Impressive. Thordak!" His wand shot out long spears of thorns, speeding toward Alexander, urging to impale, to kill. Alexander was ready, and ducked down, and in a high pitched shriek yelled "Protectice!" His wand turned to a shield of gold, and easily reflected the thorns that fell lifeless to the floor. Mannannan's eyes opened wide, gaping. "Darkness!" From the tip of his wand protruded a thin bolt of red lightning, and it met with Alexander's chest, burning and searing his flesh. Alexander could not speak, his words turned to moans of agony. The lightning sucked the life out of him, and Alexander felt his heart and body begin to give way. No. Not like this.
In a last act of defiance, he used the last magic invested in him and whispered; "Light!" A similar blue lightning blot met against Mannannan's, forcing it back, a sword of light grinding against the spear of darkness. Mannannan's face turned white with anger. "What, this cannot be!" The eternal force acting on one another grew as a fire, but it was clear, that the blue ray of light was forcing Mannannan back, dissolving the dark red flame. Mannannan began to step back, pushed by ghostly hands, strangling him. Suddenly, the red flame evaporated into a brimming shimmer of stars, and the bright blue bolt struck him, triple in size and power than both of the bolts. Mannannan was blasted back, towards the open window of the tower, the same that had held his mother captive for so long, to the window that had been her only solace as a captive. Mannannan's screamed, a last gasp of hatred before he was blown out of the window entirely. Alexander dropped the wand, filled once more with the cleansing power of the magic, and ran towards the window. He watched his nemesis cascade towards the moat below, bellowing screams echoing as he fell, finally hitting the moats surface, and being lost beneath the inky blackness. Mannannan was no more.
Alexander let out his long sigh of relief, and fell to the floor, panting. The very demon that had never left him, haunted him, his booming voice locked in his head was no more, suffocated and dead, a floating corpse beneath the water. Alexander came to his senses. He had to find Graham.
That's really good! I really liked it, especially as it had Alexander.

Sorry, I have finally read it though. I found the scenario quite good and the story interesting. Very good. I wish I had those latents.
My one critique would be: I would think Manannan would torment Alexander more verbally/psychologically first to goad him to attack first and irrationally.
Very good though. :thumbsup: I would love to see more fan-fiction stories around here. Yours and Tessy's are the only two I remember seeing. Maybe you two will spark something. I would love to hear more form both of you. :D Keep up the good work.
If you really do want to read more of mine, I am working on a project right now. It's rather long though, only about halfway-done and already thirty pages in word. If you want I can post the first half of it soon. :)

Awesome story! I've been away, and am disapointed that only one person commented on my Crystal Dragon story, so I know the feeling. I like your story, sounds a lot like Harry Potter. Go Alex! I like him, he's hot and has an interesting, tormented history, I must write about him myself. I enjoyed the description of Manannan falling into the moat.
