Just a quickie....
Is there going to be an MP3 pack of the music to download or are you going to stick to using Midi's? OR are you going to include MP3's as standard?
Yes, there will be an MP3 pack. Well, it may end up being OGG Vorbis because it compresses smaller. But yes, we want the music to be the best sounding it can be. I believe we will have a MIDI version as well (since the music will be a large download) but don't quote me on that.
I'll have to hunt Cesar down to see if he is willing to put a MIDI version in. It may be MP3/OGG or nothing. He's really big on the cinematic experience of the game (and I don't mean sit back and watch the movies go by - this is not Myst, this is definitely a KQ game).
ah good, I was worried there was going to be an epic story, amazing graphics then midi playing weakly though the speakers :P

Didn't they already say somewhere it's going to be OGG because of MP3's copytights issues? ???
Not copyright, it was licensing issues. I don't think it's free to distribute the codec or something weird like that.
Oh and Alex was on the team before, but he left before I started. :'( So since he's a regular like u guys, he's definitely allowed to ask questions here! 8)

No worries about ending up with crappy midis. The music I've heard so far is AMAZING!!!
I wonder who will be orchestrating all the music... ::)
I better get some really good soundfonts/gigasamples in the event it turns out to be me (knowing Cesar.....) ;D
Now, Mike, why would Cesar give you music to do as well as voice and color/textures? Isn't he overworking you too much? ;)
