Think about it guys. The team members have been less reluctant to give away semi-spoilers, the biggest of which was Say's post about an announcement about the release date coming soon. Also, it's getting close to October, which is the last time the gave out the release date. I think that, even though they need Vivendi's approval, it is coming soon. What about you guys/gals?
I think one thing:
:suffer: :suffer: :suffer:
lol
Well I hope It will be soon that the game will be released. In the meantime join the contest and winn great spoilers/trailers/teasers (just like you would like to call them)
One can only hope....But until then :suffer:

Maybe it's already released and they will tell this to you soon. ::)
Let the suffering begin.

Is this some sort of sign?
TSL Tomorrow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOtkct67LTg&mode=related&search=)
EDIT: added hyperlink :P :cat:
From 1999? I don't think they'd even started writing the plot then! :P

they had a great vision of the future that the silver liner would come :D
XD
Thanks for the hyperlink Koko, I don't know why I didn't do that myself.
No problemo! That's what I'm here for :D
nice link, it WOULD be nice if a release date were to appear in Oct, but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't... :)
I try not to think about it. Otherwise the anticipation drives me crazy. ;P ::)

Quote from: icarus on September 30, 2007, 02:05:39 PMcrazy enough to get locked up in the asylum? :P
*ahem* How many times do I have to repeat it's not a person
crazyness that decides whether or not a person belongs in the TSL Asylum but a person's
insaneness?! :scholar:
BTW, I still think the Fannatic contest has something to do with the release of TSL: Shadows. :pleased:
Better lock me up then. *puts out wrists* I'd rather NOT be in Fannatic if it means I end up being a beta tester. I wanna play the game after beta testing is complete. :P
I dunno which I'd prefer. I think that I'd prefer to play it after it's been tested, but I'm sure that if I was offered the position of beta-testing, I'd take it in a heartbeat.
My desire to correct things really makes me want to beta test it. XD
XD
Last night, I had a dream about TSL. :P I dreamt that I got on the site and everything had changed. It was blue and red and there was this pumpkin :dan: at the top and it said, "Happy Halloween", and then there was a button to press to get TSL. The only problem was that you had to pay $33 for it because Vivendi needed some sort of thing. I was just downloading it when I woke up. :(
Why do you always wake up when you're having a good dream before it's over? :P
And that would be lame if Vivendi actually pulled that. They didn't even DO anything to make a new game and they demand money? Pfft!
I had a dream once about getting TSL... I had it in one of those little boxes they put games in now but I woke up before I got to play it, or the dream changed or something. :P
Quote from: Rosella on September 30, 2007, 08:33:42 PMMy desire to correct things really makes me want to beta test it. XD
I'm a very efficient foolproof reader, so beta testing is not far from that. Plus, I've had some experience with the demo too. 8)
Can't say I every woke up during a dream about TSL. I rarely wake up during a dream, which is not difficult since they last mere seconds, or so I'm told.
I'm seeing signs of TSL EVERYWHERE!
Here's another sign:
There's a DP version of KQV? :D :P
Yeah, I ordered it after Amazon promptly after seeing that, because I suspect that there are more clues to TSL in the DP version.
GAH! It's beginning to be something of a DaVinci Code.
It would indeed be awesome if the game's release was near, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see... :)
As for beta testing, I'd probably prefer to wait and play the final build of the game, however a chance to play any version would be very difficult to pass up! XD
Only time will tell if the game will truly be coming out soon. As for what Copycat said, I too believe that the fannatic contest relates to the release of shadows in some way, whether it be beta-testing or an announcement of release. I will wait patiently for it, as I have these past years. And unfortunately, I have to go to science class now, so I can't post for long... :'( But just keep your eyes open, the slightest clue is always a good sign. BTW, what's DP mean?

lol, I don't know but it was in A3P's picture. XB
Oh, I get it now! XD, Wow, I'm pretty slow! Well, that is rather odd that KQV is in that code verification thing... XD But of course, all we're going to get out of Yonkey is :suffer:, which I do miss very much!
Quote from: dark-daventry on October 02, 2007, 11:26:49 AMOh, I get it now! XD, Wow, I'm pretty slow!
Not as slow as me, because I
still don't get it.
In Guild Wars
TM DP stands for 'Death Penalty' but I guess that's not it. ::)
Look at A3P's picture on the first page, then it should make some more sense. It was just random letters that came with KQV on a code verification thing.

That picture is on the 2nd page here, is it on the 1st page where you are? I didn't know you could set how many posts you wanted on one page. ::)
Ah  It just came to me, without fully understanding your last sentence but I do now. :D
lol I thought the image was on the first page. I'll have to check again... XD
Hey guys, I got the DP version today!!! And guess what?! NO CEDRIC!! I have NO idea what DP stands for, but Cedric is nowhere to be found. He's even gone from the cutscenes in the intro! All the dialogue about him is also gone! It's TOO WEIRD!
Anyway, just thought that I should let you know about it, in case anyone wanted to buy it because of it's non-cedricness.
Cool, where do I get it! XD I can't WAIT! No Cedric= Loads of FUN! XB
I got it on Amazon but apparently they don't have it anymore. :P However, you can find it on eBay:
Wait, is there seriously a DP version? I'm just so confused right now... XD If this is so, I need to buy it sometime!
Will somebody please explain to me what this DP-thing is?
It's the non-Cedric version of KQV. I'm guessing the DP stands for Dead Parrot, but don't quote me on that. :P It might not stand for anything at all, like Pokemon XD. XD
Pokemon actually stands for Pocket Monsters, Unless there's a specific strain of Pokemon in Yonkeytown where it's entitled Pokemon XD.
Also, there is no DP version of King's Quest V. It was a joke inspired by one of Yonkey's earlier posts. This whole scenario has been a test of my improvisation (and Paint) skills.
So to sum these events up, I was just joking....
....about joking. :suffer:
BTW Neil,
How did you get XD to show up as two letters?

I was wondering the same thing. :P
He probably has magical admin powers. :P
He put a period after it, so it cancels out. At least, thats what I think he did. Also, you did well with the DP thing. I was wondering wheter it actually existed! That Ebay photo is what really threw me off!
Putting a period after doesn't do anything, I've done it lots of times before, like this: :P. Putting something like a letter or slash (though not a period) before it cancels it, but then you've got the slash showing.
Here's how he did it. (I inserted some spaces between the braces.)
Quote from: Yonkey on October 07, 2007, 04:07:34 PMIt might not stand for anything at all, like Pokemon X[ b ][ /b ]D. XD
Ah ha!
:P
Cool. That's clever.
Heh yeah, you just put any tag in between them with no text. I saw someone do that on some other forum some time ago. :P
Oh, and A3P, I guess you've never heard of this game: Pokemon XD (http://www.pokemonxd.com/)! XD
Ha! I actually have heard of it, but it was a long time ago!
Remind me to try that out sometime! Very clever Neil! So, back on topic... I do hope that something will happen with TSL soon. Does Say's departure affect the release of the game and/or any community updates? I look forward to it's release!

It doesn't affect production, but it does affect updates. An official statement on this will be announced soon.
Quote from: Yonkey on October 08, 2007, 11:44:20 AMAn official statement on this will be announced soon.
How? It was actually pure luck I stumbled onto Say's Farewell-thread since I don't frequent the General-section of the forums. I don't even frequent all the thread in this section so if someone hadn't put that link in a thread I
was frequenting I probably wouldn't have noticed it. :-\
I'd figured it wouldn't affect production, since she is/was PR.
I'll post a journal entry, but I'm just waiting to hear back from Michael B first. I guess if I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'll post it then.
Cool, I'm definitely reading that journal entry. I can see how it affects updates, considering how Say was the one who managed them all. Has a successor been chosen, or is that confidential information? In the meantime, I look forward to reading this journal entry for any new information.
I suspect the new entry will mostly pertain to saying goodbye to Say and perhaps naming someone to take her place, and not much new actual game info. :P That's ok with me though, this is an important thing that's happened.
It's now posted.
Cool. I'm glad you guys told us that there are going to be minimal site updates, instead of leaving us wondering (not that you guys ever would do that to us!). I do hope that people will not ask you guys about site updates, as that will get to be annoying, I'm sure. Although I think I can safely say that the forum regulars like me will go around and tell the people that ask that an update will be posted when it's posted, and that bothering the team will solve nothing.
Well, like I said before, we're still going through with the Fannatic thing, so there will be some updates related to that.
And yes, replying to the same questions over and over again is a waste of time and effort for everyone, the constant nagging doesn't make anyone work any faster, and it obviously does not improve team morale whatsoever. But, there will always be people out there that do not understand this, which is why they are free to speak their mind to feedback@tsl-game.com.
Well, I'm happy that there is a recepticle for such comments. Then again, a lot of the time it's new members that ask the questions and don't neccesarily know that asking the team such questions is useless. When I started out on the forum, I don't think I knew that questions like that were annoying. But I mean updates will be scarce now. Of course, with contests there will be updates and such, but besides that, not too much. Speaking of contests, will this update cutdown effect any contests in the future? Will new contests in the planning stages be post-poned/cancelled?
I think it'd be cool to have the Forumers collaborate and come up with new and interesting content to keep other hungry fans at bay. We could have poems, stories, music, little games, etc. What do ya'll think? If it's fine with the team, I wouldn't mind organizing it.
Ah, guess I was wrong about what the update entailed. Thanks for it, Neil!

Monthly contests will be cancelled, but there may still be one more after the Fannatic one.

Sorry, PK. It wasn't exactly what I wanted either.
So, how much of the game is completed, Neil? :P j/k
Nah, however, nice to see you're keeping close to the current planning. :)
No apologies necessary, Neil. Just keep up the good work....It just FEELS like it's getting closer and closer to a release, and whenever that is, is when it is, and it's going to be fantastic :)

We could start a tread where the forumers write a story together. One paragraph a person. In that topic we could write adventures that happen before TSL.
That's a good idea, icarus, one paragraph at a time sounds like a good length.
I like your idea A3P! I think the forumers should definitely collaborate and make contests on their own! I'll help too! And that paragraph idea is really good Icarus!

You know...the truth is...each day, it IS closer to the release :P
My writing skills don't extend to fantasy, I have about zero inspiration in that area. If you expect me to write paragraphs, that's even worse. Sure, I can get quite lengthy in my blog (which is by invite-only and in Dutch), but all those things have some foothold in real-life.
Koko: Smart-aleck. :P

Koko does hold a point... I'll put :suffer: in for you all! XD
