I'm guessing everyone will vote for King's Quest 8, but I'm sure a few of you enjoy King's Quest 8 and would never vote against it :suffer:

I am *very* interested in knowing who voted KQ3 and why!

And yes, I voted 8.

I voted KQ3 because when you get to the end, and you walk down the stairs and get outside Rosella blocks the way, and I haven't been able to pass the game all because Rosella is blocking me!

I'll never put KQ8, I mean it sucks but i have to many problems with KQ3 :-\ to worry about KQ8 ;)

What I voted would be pretty obvious to anyone who's been reading my posts  ;)

Kq1. Both 1 & 2 are worse games than MoE in every possible way. Better gameplay, graphics, sound, music, plot, puzzles, layout, etc.

About the other things I won't argue with you - just remind you that you're comparing game that where made about 20 years apart :-\ - but the plot is pretty much on the same level IMO  ;)

btw - Does that include the remakes of KQ1 and KQ2? and why not KQ3 & 4?

Okay, yeah, the KQ3 stair thing is annoying, but go back up and come back to that screen and you can get past it. *One* tiny little stair problem isn't enough to make it *the* worst! Just annoying at one point. I demand reasons!  >:(    ;)

KQ7 I know is unliked by many because of the style for one, and the majorly simplified gameplay. I also know no one better cross Akril on it cause she loves that one! haha.  ;D

Okay, this isn't an Official Poll. I thought this section was only for official polls. Good poll anyways, I guess. Unfortunately, it tricked me, I read it wrong, and accidentally voted KQ6 cuz I thought it was what's your favorite KQ. So...whoops!

Yeah, I was thinking the same at first Cris.  But it was a pretty good poll so I decided to leave it here.  I actually thought it said "best" too and was wondering why Katie picked KQ8.  Then I read the poll properly hehehe.  ;D

Oh yeah I totally love it, I understand Cris point though and dont worry we will find a way to make our official polls as well as if anyone has this very nice cool idea can actually share it with us, thats one of the main reasons why I moved the poll here, so people can actually speak up and not just vote but also drop in comments.

About the poll its was a nice poll idea but its obvious how much ppl dislike KQ8 lol :P, so funny though :D

I voted for KQ1

Which is interesting, cause I never have really asked the question myself.

And no, I didn't vote because it was the lamest one in technology comparison, I base myself on the story. KQ1 was very "unconnected" and simple.

My second choice would be probably MoE or the original KQ2.

My favorites are KQ6 and 7. Then maybe 3 and 4, and 5 is really the black sheep of the "good" ones for me. I only have but frustrating memories of the game. It was really poorly designed, even if groundbreaking. The story wasn't bad, the game itself was what bothered me. Especially finding out I had to restore to repeat a lot of stuff just because I didn't get the "insert the name of the item" here.

KQ6 suffered a bit of this but it wasn't troublesome, and it never happened to me. I just assumed it could have happened (like going into the catacombs without the brick or into the land of dead without the coins).

But nothing beats KQ6 (Only KQ9, of course :D

Well, I thought about it for quite a while and remembered all the heck that one game put me through, and after much careful consideration, I just had to chose...

KQ2.

Heh heh, I had you going there for a second, didn't I? Still, I'm a little curious about who chose KQ6.

Like Storm, if you've followed my path of posts throughout those forums, you know my response. From the KQ games, that was the only one I had to force myself to finish it.

I can sincerely appreciate any games no matter what the quality. ;D If it has a decent plot, some good puzzles, and fun missions then I'm all for it. ;) As long as the graphics are among the best that could have been used in the time period the game was made and there are no super annoying bits the game is good.

So the plot, puzzles and missions make up the quality? I never consider graphics as part of the quality, they don't even have to be 'among the best that could have been used in the time period the game was made'.

KQ8 got my vote.  Mainly because of it not being a "traditional" King's Quest.

Shoving MoE aside though, my worst of what I played was KQ5.  I found it so slow, boring, frustrating, irritating, the voice acting(!), as I always complain about.  I may try again, but it really didn't capture me, like KQ6 did *heart*

The older ones, I've only completed the first one, but they scare me, lol.

I really like KQ2 when I first played if but when looking at it again I realize how much it seems to be a rework of KQ1.  Just my two cents... ;)

I voted MoE.  I won't dwell on why--we know why.  (Because it was terrible! XB)
If I hadn't been able to vote for that, I would have gone for KQ1 or 5.  Any game that, after finishing with full points, I need only save once throughout the entire game and can finish in one sitting of less than three hours doesn't have enough plot, tricky parts, or puzzles. And since I can finish KQ1 in under an hour with full points, and KQ5 takes me about an hour and 45 minutes, if I'm slow and get interrupted (which tends to happen when I play it lately).

I liked KQ 7 the least.  It didn't have the dark edge that KQ 6 had and the story wasn't as compelling to me.  I never got to play KQ: Mask of Eternity and I've wanted to just to see if it's as bad as they say...

KQ3=I'm a slave!? :o
KQ4=Music, and day/night cycle
KQ5=Owl
KQ6=Gabriel Knight
KQ7=Valinice
KQ-8/KQ8=haven't played

I'll say KQ2.

Finding keys to go thru doors, reminds me of Doom.
Everyone, including enemys, at the wedding(confusion).
No "nikstlitselpmur" puzzle.

I agree that KQ1 had no plot to speak of, I'll even admit I get rather bored playing it now (even the remakes :P). I echo that almost completely(I actually still enjoy playing KQ 1, even though it goes really fast and I don't have to save the game(except maybe when I climb the bean stalk)). However I had to vote for KQ 5, since that was, considering the WOW-factor, the game in the KQ-series(yes, including MoE) that wowed me the least. The voice thing was really hard to get over, since you couldn't opt for text. Had THAT been an option, this would have been a whole different story.

As far as MoE, it is once and for all inextricably a part of the KQ series, whether we like or not, and as far as a game, I liked it. Do I think it is a KQ game? No. Do I think it belongs in the series? No. But it was a good game, in my opinion, and since it is a part of the series, for good and for bad(read: bad) I can't vote it as the game I liked the least.
