I am a huge fan of the Kings Quest series and i am very excited for the new one but when i try to open the demo it says "video card failed to initialize" I don't know how to fix it but I really want to try out the demo.

What video card do you have, do you have the latest drivers for it and have you set the properties to emulate XP?
Welcome takitto. You may have to update your drivers. I know for a fact that the demo will run on a Vista computer because my sister played the demo on her laptop which uses Vista. Sorry if I am not much help. :P
Right. I don't think you need to set it to emulate XP, but you do need an NVidia or ATI-based video card.
The TSL demo does run on Vista. I have Vista on my lap top and I ran it fine. The only issue that i had was the fact that the game play was somewhat choppy and I even ran it with a high tech G Force card. Don't quote me on that though since your system specifications are most likely different from mine. However, the Beta version of TSL ran beautifully on my computer. I wouldn't worry too much about running it on Vista.

I don't even think it needs that. My laptop is a standard one and I played the demo fine. Granted it does work faster if it has the video card as my desktop does. I guess I should ask my dad what he had installed when he had my laptop build. ???

How much memory do you have?
If he's getting the video card failed to initialize message, it means the game isn't able to detect OpenGL on the video card. You'll need to upgrade your video card drivers to the latest ones from NVidia, takitto.
