Unfortunately, not so much. Her water broke ~10:45 PM, and we went to the hospital. She was having contractions, but she wasn't dilating. Around 9 AM, they induced her, and the baby wasn't born until 7:44 PM.
WOW! My sympathies to her for having to go that long. Almost a full day! OUCH!
(I didn't know babies could survive that long after the water had broken before being born. Not that I know anything about this, mind you. I just thought there was a smaller window in which they had to be born after the water had broken.)
Congratulations just the same.
The doctors strongly prefer that the baby be born within 24 hours of the water breaking - to decrease the chance of infection.
Yeah, it was a LONG day, but at the end of it, we got a beautiful, healthy baby boy! :D
Beautiful, beautiful baby! Congratulations and may you sleep well in the months to come. :)
