The avatars and images appearing and disappearing thing happens to me too (but I use MSIE). Usually the smileys and YABBC appear fine though. I'm not sure why you couldn't save a post though. Maybe they were doing some maintenance on the server, but their site doesn't say they were. Their home office was without power today though, maybe that caused the problems. ::)
I'm using IE and I didn't have any major picture loss, except for the occasional avatar going missing (but that could be related to the server it's on, not this site's server) :-\
A glitch I did get is that the "Sketch of the Week" thumbnail on the main page still shows last week's sketch, even though it leads to the new sketch. The same thing happened to me several times before on the old server(s).
Maybe it's your Internet Cache settings. I have mine set to Check for newer versions of stored pages: Automatically. I'm not sure what the equivalent is in Netscape though. :-\
I thought that might be the problem too, but in this case hitting "Refresh" should re-load the page from the server (not the cache) - and that didn't work when I tried it before... However, it did work when I tried it just now. Weird :P
My preferences specify a page on the net should be compared to the one in the cache automatically too. Your avatar shows fine Yonkey, and so do Dotty's, Jeysie's and César's, Storm's, Say's and mine (amongst many others ofcourse) don't.
The fact I couldn't save could have been related to memory issues at my end, because it seems to work fine now. However, the image and smiley-problems persist. Reading a post without smile's is really not very interesting.
Got any other settings I should check?
Yesterday I was having problems seeing Storm's and Mango's avatar. Today it seems better. I'm not sure why the smilies wouldn't show up.
When you click on the smilies they don't appear in the post? Then maybe you have javascript disabled? As for the images, they are just gif files and should show up. ::)
