There were tons of songs from KQ6 that I loved (and that was on PC Speaker too, woo!). ;D There were just a few from KQ7 that I liked. :)
You can't compare the music of KQ1-3 or even KQ4 to the rest of them. It's beeper vs. MIDI and SoundBlaster, and they didn't have a full soundtrack like the more advanced ones ::)
I was just listening to the KQ5 & 6 soundtrack a while ago... KQ6 is definately the best, but I may be biased since it's my favorite - KQ7 had a good soundtrack as well :D
I'm putting in my 2 cents for KQ5. :suffer: Seriously, though, I enojyed the music in it, especially the opening and some of the musical sound effects. Also, nothing can beat Graham's scream when he falls off the cliffs in KQ5. ;)
yeah..the music in the woods of KQ7 was a "tearjerker" type song, something to that extent...One of those weird happy, yet sad songs. You can hear it at...http://www.sierraplanet.com/~ugarte/KQ/KQ7.htm

Haha...under the "Additional Facts" part of the page, it says that the music in KQ4 was so emotional that people started to cry in a test screening convention type thing
Weeeeee! That Bandit Camp song I was talking about from KQ5 is here too: http://www.sierraplanet.com/~ugarte/KQ/KQ5.htm :D
::dances to the music ::
The first time I heard this song (PC speaker) I was cracking up! ;D It also reminds me a bit of the flute song Alex plays in KQ6 heheh. :)
In 6, I just love the music that plays while you're in the land of the dead.
And in 7, I like the simple tune that you have to play to see the fates.
And in 8, I like the music in the sun temple place.
Yeah I still think the masterpiece is in KQ7 though in the forest.
I loved Alex's flute-playing number in the garden, too. I remember smiling because the whole scene was so cute. The xylophone bit in the Land of the Dead was neat as well.
Of course, the flute number, the town theme, and Cassima's theme, at least, all have the same motif to them. (And one neat little puzzle clue is that the Bookworm's theme and the Dangling Participle's theme also have the same motif.)
The music for Alhazred and Cassima's wedding, while not exactly original, was pretty cool, too. Prolly one of the few cases where the game music alone was enough to make me nervous. (I love how funereal it sounded.)
Peace & Luv, Liz
I had to choose KQ8 cos it has cool freaky kinda music :D, it sends shivers down my spine ;)

I find that hard to believe. Those must have been some pretty emotional peple to begin with :P
The poll should include AGDI's KQ2+ as well. It also had a great soundtrack - original yet KQ-ish :D
Yeah, I find it hard to cry about a computer.
I absolutley loved KQ4's music, although there was't loads what was there was awesome for the the time it was made. The main theme is so catchy. Still I haven't playd the rest a while so there might be loads of songs I've forgotten...
Arrg...bad typing on my part. I ment over a computer game.
Heh...KQ9 will probably be #1 in all of these polls, and will be the first to make people cry...heh
Future review of KQ9: "I laughed, I cried, I threw a rotten tomato..." :suffer:
Amen to that.
have you guys heard our few samples on music? if you havent... you should <3, excellent music, I'm looking foward that cesar will allow me to put more, it's really good.
Yeah, we have some pretty awesome music, I agree. ;D
It's pretty cool stuff, but weird for me to listen to without playing the game...heh
hahah you got visual memory, its like you need to listen to the music and associate it with something else? :P??
dont worry, you will like it a hell of a lot more then ;)
Oi Oi Oi! ;D
hahaha, k I'll take that as a yes... or something hahaha :D
yeight! w00t w00t. Sorry...I'll stop talking hacker/gamer/lameass language.
Kings Quest I
The KQ2 VGA remake again had pretty good music. Anyone tired of me bumping these threads yet? No? Good... :suffer:
I'd say KQ2+ but as this one is not on I voted for KQ7 because it has that (unfortunately much too short) "A Land Beyond Dreams" and some cool background music that gets stuck in your head forever ;) (remembers Ooga-Booga BG music)
Yes, KQ2 VGA had some really good music and features; it kinda snuck its way into being my all-around favorite Kings Quest. They really nailed the game perfectly. The storyline is arguably the strongest of any of the games, everything comes together so well. Great game.
The new music is awesome, so I stand at KQ9. :D
*listens to Alexander's theme* :)
I have all sorts that I love from all sorts of games. I liked quite a few from KQ7 (Ooga Booga, Falderal, loads). KQ6 had mostly fine music (Beauty and the Beast, the wedding bit, I totally agree with), I liked the Oasis music from KQ5 (prolly one of the few things I did about that game :P), and the organ music from KQ 4 is great. As for before that, Greensleeves title music = CLASSIC.
KQ6 !!!!!!
What I've heard of the KQ9 music is really good. ;D
I voted for 6 but 7 has also very good music
Well I personally think KQ6 has an amazing soundtrack. The town song is my ultimate favorite (sometimes when my school Jazz ensemble plays this song, "Sing a Song of Song," by Kenny Garrett, I'll sneak the melody of the town song into my improvisations ;D), but I also really like the Cassima theme, the flute song, the song that plays at the tree (mechanical bird shares the same theme), Beauty and the Beast song...
Wow. A lot of them. The Isle of the Crown has by far the best music. Man...what great music.
With me it was a draw between 6 and 7, finally I just chose 7 because of the Land beyond dreams in the beginning.
