I almost always just go by Liz, though... the only time I ever use my full name is when I'm filling out official-type documents or signing things or something. People started calling me Liz way back in elementary school, and it just sort of grew on me. Although I did have one best friend a long time ago who called me Beth... and she's the only person I let do it because I hate that nickname for some reason. I also had one teacher who tried calling me Betty once... ugh.
When it comes to odd names, though... my mom's name is Idabelle. AFAIK, she was named after her aunt, Ida Belle. She mostly goes by Ida, but people tend to screw up and call her Isabelle quite often.

I like the new design too, except for the fact that the white font scars my eyes horribly for some reason. :P
Slightly off-white would prolly work better. I also find that bright-whiteness is hard on the eyes. Truth be told, that's the only part of the old design I didn't like... it was too pure white.

About my personal opinions on that matter, Im going to save them, but the point is I did say I didnt like the previous design for the following reasons:
1.- It didnt represent the game or the feeling of the game.
2.- It was bad organized.
3.- It had no supportive effort whatsoever you dont do a site to leave it wonder forever alone.
Im not going to enter details on this since I dont believe I should, as I see everyone who codes and who does web things have a really different perspective on the matter either subjective or objetive.
All I can add to this, which was my point before, it was a project studied beyond personal matters and it has a point to it based on the facts and records PR handle which obviously reflects on the main goals and visions of the game as well as the development team, since PR handle third parties related to us. So when we act its because we have a need.

My first name came from my Aunt Cathye and great-great aunt Catherine. Elisabeth (yes, spelt with an "s") comes from one of my mom's best friends in high school.
Koko comes from the Siamese cat in the "Cat Who..." series by Lillian Jackson Braun. Awesome books! And, BTW, when we got our siamese, we named him Koko. I was going to name myself after the other siamese in the books, but Yum Yum actually may sound a little "nasty"! lol
And in a round about way, it all makes sense...Catherine, Koko, both Cat's (b/c sometimes I do sign my name Cat). Lol.

Haha didn't I tell that story before? lol well, when I was back in.. I don't know grade 1 or 2.. Firstly, where the
heck do they get Peggy from? I usually go by Beth, that's just always been what my relatives have called me, so I stayed with it.
It does have its advantages. If I want to make a good impression, I'll use Elizabeth because it sounds so dignified and refined ;). Around my friends and family, I'm just Beth. And when I'm feeling stupid, I'll use Bethy or Elzi or something hideous ;P
But, as you say, then everyone has their own take on it. I like "Liz", but it's not a name I use very often. So I hate it when people just instantly shorten my name to "Liz" because they feel like it. I prefer people I don't know to call me Elizabeth.
And, yes, I still wish I were named Jael :(. It's so much more interesting.
Well, mostly people call me by Catherine...but recently several of my RL friends have started calling me Cat! Interesting since the only time I go by Cat is on forums and when I'm leaving a note for someone...Catherine takes too much time to write out!
