Title: Classic sierra games on Gametap
Post by: dark-daventry on January 15, 2010, 10:20:06 AM
So i was browsing the internet for the third king's quest book, and an add on google listed the KQ games on Gametap. I went to look for myself, and low and behold, it's true. But not just King's Quest; they have sierra's back catalog of games in it's entirety, so far as I can tell. Police Quest, Space Quest and Quest for Glory are there too. i havent yet checked on Leisure Suit Larry, but it's probably on there too. The downside is that you must pay 4.99 a month in order to play them... it also says they can be played in the browser. click here (http://www.gametap.com) to go to the website and type in the name of the game you wish to play. Just an interesting alternative for those who wish to play the games and not bother with installation issues on the desktop.

I hate monthly fees.  but thats a cool idea.  If for whatever reson I can`t get ALL of the original KQ`s to work, I will maybe try that.  or that saerien thingie, that was cool too.

I didn't even mean to stumble into that one. It was by accident.

The advantage to using gametap is that they have the VGA games on there, while sarien.net can presently only support the EGA games. The developer is working on getting the SCI games to work, but it'll be a while before he can get the VGA games.
