Yes folks... that's right! The movement to reverse Activision's Cease & Desist order gets a new chapter... in the form of a Facebook group.
Share your thoughts with other fans and supporters of The Silver Lining and make this Facebook group stand side-by-side as the public face of the petition to save The Silver Lining!

This group is open to ALL fans and supporters of The Silver Lining.
And for all of our MySpace friends out there.... you haven't been forgotten. :)

Ugh, I hate Facebook. Apparently I'm "in too many groups". I'm gonna attempt to weed that down now... unless someone can shoot me an invite? C'mon I know I'm FB friends with a couple of you!
Invite sent. I'll also point out to those of you on Facebook I am looking into purchasing some ad-space to promote the petition. If any of you have any suggestions for what the ad should say, feel free to post it. Just keep in mind the ad text is limited to 150 characters so it's gotta be short, sweet, and to the point.
I will be paying for the ad-space out of my own pocket, so no need to worry about that. :)

As an event promoter, I have quite a bit of experience with those ads. They're basically my bread and butter (except when I've got a realty TV star mentioned in it, in which case I pay 50 bucks for clicks and only get a third of them to decide that they're coming, not that I'm bitter...).
The wording has to be short and sweet -- which is hard for me, so I'll let you handle that. :P The most important part though is the tags you put on it -- these will help determine who sees the ad on their sidebar and these tags can be anything that appears on someone's profile, from employment to interests -- if it's searchable, it's a tag. This is all really easy to figure out and I know you don't need instruction as far as that goes but *this* is the important part:
make typos. People have typos ALL over their profiles. It won't let you add it as a tag if no one has it on their profile, so don't worry about that. However, someone may have "seirra games" instead of "sierra games", and it's worth it to put that typo in there just in case!
Just a thought. :)
Good suggestions all around. :)
On Facebook, search "Activision Assist". Click on the group you find, go to discussions, and you'll see one titled "The Silver Lining". Only 10 posts so far (2 actually from Activision). I think we should take the opportunity to hit this up. Let's get them with handwritten letters, online petitions, and run up their facebook with messages. Let them know we're not going away that easily!
Too bad I JUST deleted my Facebook account, I never used it. I'd totally be on it all the time now!
I very rarely ever got onto my Facebook, and now I'm checking it all the time. :P
Josh Mandel has joined the Facebook Group and has signed the petition.
We might be seeing some more former Sierra employees lending us their support.
I <3 Josh Mandel, that's exciting! :)

Wooooooo! King Graham in the flesh! ;D
I don't know how extensive you want the ad to be but I can think of a whooole list of more things to put under "who like", if you're interested. (Of course, I don't want to run you into the ground financially, but...)
You could add:
sierra, sierra games, sierra online, roberta williams, ken williams, ken and roberta williams, roberta and ken williams, quest games, old games, old school games, classic games, fantasy, high fantasy, epic fantasy, fairy tales, fairies, folklore, myths, mythology, adventures, sierra entertainment, vivendi, vivendi universal, phoenix online studios, the Silver Lining
You could also include each individual king's quest game (for instance: king's quest 1, kq1, and quest for the crown, maybe even king's quest 1 quest for the crown)
And again, remember to look for typos and add those in too. :) Remember, you can never have too many tags on your ad! :)
Also, if you have it pay by clicks it will be cheaper for you, if that's a concern. It doesn't effect how many people it will show up on the page for.
Just some completely unwarranted advice. :P I'm shutting up now. :P
Thank you for the advice

Hi,
It's great in having facebook group.
How about http://twitter.com?
Twitter has an excellent way for members asking their friends to follow stories/update and such!
TSL already has a twitter account. I don't know about Save TSL.
The Save TSL Movement is on Twitter under my name (oberonqa).
