Title: Calling Activision
Post by: waltzdancing on April 04, 2010, 08:27:54 PM
Okay here is the number and how to navigate through the electronic system. The phone number is 1-310-255-2000. You will then press 'zero' which will send you to the operator, she can be a bit gruff but you want the Public Relations section.

Remember, if you call to be polite and to let them know courteously that you are displeased with their decision and would like to have them change their minds and allow TSL to be released. I trust all of you so have fun calling and don't be offended if you get an answering machine.

So I just called and after going through a little song and dance to get to talk to someone, I spoke to someone in what I believe was public relations (that or complaints, I'm not sure.)  He didn't know what I meant when I talked about The Silver Lining, but when I mentioned it was about King's Quest and how Activision stopped the game from being released he said, "Oh yeah I've heard about that."  He told me he'd write about that in my complaint and "send it on up."

So hopefully that will be helpful :)

That's excellent!! I think I am going to try that and see what they say. Also, I have sent todays petition package to activision, I hope that those are working their way up as well.

Might want to make a new thread over in general about calling Activision.  That way I can make a post to it over on the Facebook Group and Atec can make a link to it on the Save TSL website.  :)

Great idea, Waltz!  I'll be calling in the next week or so.

We should encourage people who called to reply to this thread and tell everyone how it went, or at least just to report that they did it. Then we'd have a way to keep track of the calls, and maybe get some tips from the callers.

We should also add the "Calling Activision" announcement to the web page.

I will let Atec know about the Webpage.

I did the same song and dance with the operator again today and after answering several questions about TSL and that I was trying to express my disappointment, she transferred my call to a Mr. Ashley Dyer. He is the Sr. Manager of Cooperate Communications. I will see what he says when I call him back and if he knows what is going on. If he is the link to the higher ups I will dig for a number and email for everyone.

His direct line, to avoid the operator is 1-310-255-2548 and his email is adyer@activision.com

To talk to Kathy Bricaud Sr. Publicist call 1-310-255-2764.

This is such a busy week for me, but I'll tryyy to call all of those numbers!

Well I called both of those numbers and got both of their answering machines.  I left just about the same message on both of them, obviously expressing my feelings over TSL.

Hopefully they'll start noticing all of us calling in and that will get some things moving!

I don't want be an un-believer, but does public relations deal with employees?

It strange we should call there instead phoning board members or even executives members of Activision.

However, hopefully this will archieve something.

Talk to waltz.  I think she has been calling around and has been talking to a bunch of people in activision.  Seems like it would be in this thread.  But it might also be in the C&D thread.

I have spoken to at least three people inside Activision. I have been digging for board member numbers but those are harder to find. Public Relations are present at mettings depending on the company set up. When I get a hold of someone again, I will make sure to ask if our situation is being talked about, might not get an answer but I will keep asking them.

For a general idea about public relations is to view them as a ocean buoy. They are constantly testing the water, temperature depth. TSL fans are a part of the ocean, we are rocking these buoys around. Keep emailing and calling. I'm sure we can get through.

So far nothing worthwhile yielded from the phone calls, but I think they know we're here, and that's what matters.

Message left in "public relations"'s answering machine.

I think they're having trouble with their telephone system-- the first time I called I hit 0 for operator and was transfered to nowhere- silence for like a minute or two until I hung up.  Second time I asked the operator for public relations and was transfered to nowhere.  but third time lucky, I reached an answering machine!  So you may have to try multiple times before you get somewhere.

I think they are getting fed up with us. They won't even transfer my calls anymore, the operator says she is have trouble with her headset then my call mysteriously drops. I haven't gotten through in a couple of days.

So now would be a good time to point out that if they would just LET US TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT THE C&D, we won't bother them anymore!

She may just recognize your number when it comes up on caller id.   Or your voice!

I'd offer to take over the major phoning work but I don't know what-all you've been doing so I don't think I could.   :(

at least that means they are noticing us.

Seems kinda illegal if she is just hanging up on you, but I coudn't possibly know.

Today at work I noticed a book about how companies should/do deal with complaints.  Reading the back (while boss wasn't looking) looked like it also had info about how to make companies LISTEN to your complaints.  It might be worth checking the library for books like this, or the internet.  There's probably a lot of info out there about dealing with companies... there's probably also a lot of BAD info on the internet, so think before trying anything you read on a website.

The book I saw at work: http://www.amazon.com/Send-This-Jerk-Bedbug-Letter/dp/0898158117/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1271648558&sr=8-1  I may buy it next week just to see if there's anything useful in it.  Employee discount at a thrift store = only a buck or two, I can get anything!
