Activision, thank you from the bottom of my heart. With this action, you have proven that you do care about gamers and that you are willing to listen, negotiate, and be fair. You will always have my respect for that, just as Vivendi has my respect for the license they issued, just as Phoenix Online Studios and Save TSL has my respect for all of the work they have done, and just as Sierra Online has my respect for the wonderful games they produced. My deepest thanks extends to Activision's management team and everyone involved in making this decision. Thank you!

I have been waiting to play kings quest since 8 came out all those years ago, so I want to thank you activison from the bottom of my heart :D

Thank you so much, Activision!  I found this site by chance some years ago, and have been keeping an eye on it ever since, eagerly awaiting a chance to continue the King's Quest adventure.  I've never seen a more dedicated group, both the Silver Lining team and the fans, and I'm sincerely grateful that you are allowing this to be released.  I know I haven't waited half as long as some, but it's a great feeling to know that the wait is almost over!

I don't normally pop into these forums but I've been keeping an eye on this project for the past... well, it must be about six years now. In all that time I've been amazed at the diligence and commitment of the TSL team, and I have nothing but admiration for these people who have taken such a very long time to make their plans and dreams into a reality.

But, at the same time, I am overjoyed that Activision is able to see things from this point of view as well, and allow all this incredible work to finally come to fruition. Sometimes I worry that gaming is dominated by too much business and too many statistics, and is swamping all the inspiration and passion that makes the medium great. I'm truly grateful that, in this instance, Activision took the decision to make thousands of people incredibly happy.

Woot!!!!!!! thank you Activision!!!!!!!!!! I have been follow this game since 2000 I'm so happy that activision has decided to let POS continue with The TSL. Looking forward to the release since KQ was one of the first games that I ever played.

I played all the original King's quest games as they came out with my son and loved them.  I have been waiting for this for so long.

Thank you Activision!  I can now share this with my granddaughter!  I am sure we both will love it.

This is an example that many other publishers should follow.

And this is how the games industry should work. People should ask for the games they love and publishers should listen. Not only to the big bucks, but to all of us, especially to a team who put so many years of effort into such a nice project.

The project team has worked really hard for several years to produce The Silver Lining, and we have waited long years to see it done. I can't believe that day is so close at hand. I almost drove myself batty, trying to play the old cd's in my newer co,puter...... Needless to say that couldn't be done!! It was music to my ears and eyes when the announcement came out about the revival of my favorite game!!!!!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!!

How do I phrase this.

You denied a license that had already been granted.

You acted like a troll issuing a Cease and Desist letter.

You pissed around for months hoping it would go away.

Now you want to be treated like a hero for doing what was written in the first place.

Thank you for doing what was right in the end ... no matter how grudgingly you did it.

I may even purchase your products in the future or do work for you ... after deep consideration. This is a huge move upwards from where you were sitting a week ago.

YA Activison doing it better than EA, I'm in AWE that you're this AWESOME. I am glad that your Company is not on my DO NOT BUY FROM list like EA (for spore Securom), Codemasters, AQ Interactive, Arc System Works, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Inc. (make watered down crap games), etc Thank You for continuing to Publish/Develop Great games like Prototype, Spiderman 1-3. I can't wait for your GoldenEye 007 for Wii The Wii graphics actually look good like they should, and want to see what Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will be like.

Hard to break it to you, but Activision also uses Securom on at least some of their games :p... So you best make sure what security measure Activision is using on any given game, if you plan to plunk down your cash.

This is incredible. I feel like I've judst been given an early christmas present. May niot have been active much but followed the project and sent out letters in support too...never quite believing in what was going on. I didn;t give this much hope, despite all the efforts, to be honest.... I guess that will teach me the power of combined effort, that sometimes things actually can be achieved. Well done, you guys and those of you who were most asctive in animating this movement agaisnt cease and desist- thank you.  For Activision..I'm just grateful they did not kill it off in the end. And I thank them for deciding not to do it.

And all of you out here, you;re the best, your effort and strength of will is admirable.

Activision has made quite a few bad choices recently... and I'm glad that this one was reverted. Hopefully such decisions will continue.

For all of my life, I've played the King's Quest series and learned things from each game. To have my childhood reborn in a modern time is not only a miracle, but a godsend. You may have made some very poor decisions in the past and recently, but at least one of them was changed. Letting a series end without a proper ending is something that many people cannot fathom. I'm glad that King's Quest fans don't have to endure that pain.

Thank you, Activision, for revitalizing my childhood and allowing such a dedicated group of fans release their labor of love.
