Now...what kinds of easter eggs would all of you like to see?
Personally, I think there has to be something involving the suffer smilie, or this isn't the game we were promised. :P It'd be nice to have Graham find a page with C9 plot written at the top and a strange face that almost looks like it's laughing or something. :P
Otherwise, I'm still excited to see Cuatokomacen. XD
lol, I love the idea of the C9 Plot! XD I do know there are a couple of forum related easter eggs...
Amy did an amazing job with the voice-inflection of all of them too. I wonder how long it took her to say some of them with a straight face!
Fantastic. The best part of how some of the easter eggs work is just how nonchalantly the game responds to them. In KQII, if you tried to ride the carpet down the mountain while in the shade of the cave, it said something like "You should move out of the cave before getting on the carpet. Only weird QA people do that." I just imagine that with a deadpan delivery and, well, as much as KQII was pretty bad plot-wise, I loved it easter-egg-wise. XD
We are definitely going to have to make sure we have a thread for the found easter eggs once the game comes out!
As long as people only say how they found them, not what actually happens, I entirely agree. XD
I love the idea of Corridor 9. It could be hidden in the bookshop. Another Easter egg I would like to see would be Cedric the owl again. He was always good for a laugh.

Very true! We'd have to say "have you checked out the one when you click "hand" on ..." And "did you have a good laugh when you did this...?"
With adventure games in particular, there is great room for easter eggs. I am really looking forward to finding them.

It would also be funny if Graham got caught doing something someone didn't like and was told "Cease and desist!" and then he thinks to himself, "Hmm, where have I heard that before..."
:)
I LOVE it! XD

Thanks! :)
I'm going to try to come up with more; I love thinking about this kind of stuff. :)
For a Corridor 9 Easter egg, perhaps we could find a small mention of it behind a tapestry, in a hole, or on a tree... you know, as a bit of a reference to similar easter eggs in KQ2 and 3.
I'd go with behind a tapestry, myself.

You have to look "behind a tapestry" in the labyrinth of KQVI as well, don't forget.
If Etheria is still in the game, you could have a section where there's a cloud bank on ground level just covering the edge and make it possible for Graham to walk off the edge and die. Then you could bring up a death message like "Didn't learn your lesson from your first adventure, I see."
If there are some narrow stairs (hey, it's a King's Quest game, it's *got* to have narrow stairs), you could make it possible to fall off and have a message like "Come on, point-and-click should make steps like these a lot easier!"
ROFFLE! Awesome, Enchantermon!
If there are any dead bodies to search that have nothing useful on them, you could play off of one of Space Quest's "empty body" messages with "Your search of [whatever it is] reveals nothing even a space janitor would carry."
I think they should have had an Easter Egg in King's Quest VI where Alexander could pick up a dog treat and distract Saladin or one of the guards with it.
Lol! That made me think of this: "I have instructed the guards NOT to let you into the-- SQUIRREL!"
Thought of another one: have a small rock, or tuft of grass or something insignificant in the background that, when you click the Look icon on it, brings up a message like: "Gosh, after eight years you'd think they'd have thought up a description for this but...nope. Sorry." ;)

I liked the patch someone (I don't remember who) made for the original RC1 demo - when you looked at the dresser, you heard a muffled Cedric saying "No, Graham! You can't do this to me!" (or something like that).

Really? That's hilarious!
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that XD, that was awesome.
Will there be a Fou! parade? ::)
I have never seen that one. OMG I am going to have to look for it now.
Oh man, Enchantermon, that dog was the best part of the movie. The voice they had him put on was hilarious! The bird was great too- I loved how it kept picking up the little fat boy like he was a baby.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say that'd be a TribeHasSpoken mod to the game. :P

I have never seen UP. Is it any good?

He was, he was. I forgot to look up that voice but was absolutely brilliant.
Quote from: waltzdancing on July 08, 2010, 11:47:20 AMI have never seen UP. Is it any good?
It is. I think it was a little overhyped, personally, but even so, it was as strong as the rest of Pixar's menagerie.
Yes, if you like Pixar's movies such as Toy Story and Wall-E, you will love this one. It was a well-done story and humorous.
And I *totally* saw the very ending of UP coming.
UP was great. I cried like 3 times. Every time I see it. Love it!
I'm so confused as to how the topic became Pixar movies. XD

I wanted to kill myself after 20 minutes (or more specific kill myself if i ever ended up alone after 50), but after the depressing start it turned out quite fun :)

I made a comment about a could-have-been KQVI Easter Egg referencing Up and it just went from there. :)

Sorry, it was my fault for distracting the topic. ;]
No problem. Since I've not seen "UP"...I didn't even catch the reference XD

Sadly (but not surprisingly), the link to the patch does not work. :(
Yeah, none of his links do. Which is sad because I really wanted to show some of his MP3s to my boyfriend, who has recently developed an undying hatred for a certain feathered member of the KQ cast. :P
Another death Easter Egg - Graham dies, and the narrator says: Graham, respond! Graham? Graaaaaaaaaaham! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWFJNo2LY18)
;)
I'd really lobe to see an easteregg featuring the boogieman from KQ7.. but sadly have no idea what kind of :-[
I'm still waiting on the naked Cesar easter egg that's been tossed around in years before. And here's one I just thought of: In the credits, Suffer HAS to be mentioned. Even if it's just a quick passing glance or something. And I kinda want there to be audio with suffer... Something really menacing... lol

XD OMG that's awesome! I was kind of thinking of something a bit deeper, almost inhuman like.
Haven't read the whole topic, but at some point in the 5 chapters there surely will be a cave. And there must be a random chance to see the Batmobile at said cave.
Sam and Max reference plz! ;D
