Still, fantastic intro! Tá sin iontach!! (I went to the effort of typing that in Sláine... a Gaelic font... but it didn't work :-\ ...oh, well, it brought over the accents at least. :P) (iontach is high praise because it means so many good things: wonderful, marvelous, fantastic, you get the idea... only word to describe that intro ;P)

I actually don't like the spider-y finger look as a rule, but I liked the fingers here for some reason. *shrugs*
the intro is silent as a homage to the Sierra games of the old, and other intros such as Final Fantasy VIII's intro. Also, personally, I'm very proud of an intro that carries you for 6 mins without a single spoken word. (well, aside for the "Alexander" but that falls more in the category of sound effect.)
You'll hear a lot of characters speaking right after, so... don't worry :)

Yeah, the intro was a very emotional bit for me... well done! I would have liked to hear a little dialogue, and then have it go silent as Rosella enters... but that's just my opinion on it. It's beautiful as it is. :D

I just saw the intro on G4's website...amazing! I felt like a kid again, completely smitten as I watched the King's Quest VI intro for the first time.
I am so excited to play this game! Most sincere thanks to everyone that had a hand in making this game possible!

Something about the intro reminds me a lot of Kingdom Hearts--and I say that as a compliment since the Kingdom Hearts series is my second favorite series next to, of course, King's Quest--And in fact that series somehow reminded me of KQ when I first played it. Both the atmosphere, the epicness, and the general beauty of it remind me of Kingdom Hearts.
Truly a beautiful, cinematic intro.
Part of the similarity between KQ and Kingdom Hearts may lie in the whole "black cloak = evil" concept.
But yeah, though I don't actually see a bunch of similarity beyond that, it's certainly not a bad thing to be compared with.

It's just the innocent, Disney-ish tone and silliness along with a heavy atmosphere of romance (like in KQ6) reminded me of KQ. The intro reminds me of Kingdom Hearts in both it's beauty with Rosella walking down the Isle, and the darker parts of KH, and it's in a very good way.
This game is looking epic, essentially.
Seeing all of the old characters, like the Royal Family Hakim, Sing Sing, the Queens of Chessboard Land, the land of the Green Isles itself--All characters I've cherished and loved since I was just five years old--Seeing them all together, and in a way I always longed to--3D--It feels like a homecoming, or a return to youth. Either way the introduction inspired in me a great sentimentality--Like finally returning to a place you once loved, where you were happy. That's what KQ always was to me--A place I could escape to from the stresses of life, both when playing it, and even in my dreams--And that place is open once more it seems.

I'm so proud of you guys! I got goosebumps when the "Phoenix Online Studios" logo flashed (appropriately decorated in flames :)), and cried during the intro. Can't wait for tomorrow!
I loved the shot of Sing Sing--It brought me back to the shot of the Seagulls flying in KQ6--Not sure if it was intentional but it came to me as a lovely call back right back to where we left off in a sense.
Rosella's wedding--before the darkness--Has to be one of the most beautiful moments of the whole series. I know some may disagree with me on that, but it's how I feel. Seeing the shot from her POV as she walked up the aisle, with the music--It made me feel like a child again when I played KQ6, or when I watched epic movies like Labyrinth--A sort of odd sense of wondrous, almost childish joy I haven't felt in a long time.

When I saw the Phoenix Online logo, I was just kind of like... "Wow. It's here. They're here. This is so awesome."

I remember a long time ago, when I was still going to school, it would take me an hour to get there, and I would put some music --at that time A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics from the Beautiful Mind soundtrack, and dream up of this intro, seeing the titles fly away over the piece of cloth, seeing the dove flying through the clouds, getting close to the islands, and then the whole wedding section.
Then working on the storyboards with Jonathan Stoll to bring the words to life. It was difficult since there was absolutely no spoken word (that was a decision made since the first day), and this whole thing was probably one page of written random thoughts. Then finally when we had the storyboard, putting it together on premiere to show the pace of it, then it going to the animators, who each got a chunk and put something together. Then it finally fell in the hands of the great Chris Ushko, who brought it to life.
And after that, Michael and Rich came in and added the magic, rendering it and making it as beautiful as it stands today. Then I worked with Austin on bringing the music to it, always asking him to fly higher, higher! Go higher Austin, I want BAMS, BOOM, sweeping score! Took us a couple of tries to get there! And finally, Daniel closed it with the beautiful and very much restrained sound pass, as to not fight with the music!
The final final touch came later from Eriq Chang, with his beautiful new logos for us.
It's been a long time coming. You have no idea how bad I wanted you all to see this. This is my very personal baby among the big baby that is TSL for me :)
And it brings tear to my eyes to know it's grabbing the hearts of you guys.

Indeed, couldn't have said it better! In my head I kept going "Look, it's the shopkeeper! Look, it's Jollo! Look...!", and it just made me remember all the characters I loved from the previous games while starting off the new plot beautifully. I loved the lack of dialogue and the focus on the music (which is gorgeous, by the way).
I simply loved it and can't wait until tomorrow when I can play the first part for myself! ^_^
It really just made me want to say "Hi! I missed you too!" XD

Why would Rosella be holding her wedding in the Green Isles? I thought this was supposed to be a birthday party.
I find it entirely plausible to think that that might just be the most convenient place for everyone to gather. There are probably other people (Connor, maybe? :P) that can keep Daventry safe while the king and queen are away, but maybe Alexander and Cassima, being relatively newly coronated have to stay in their homeland.
I'm not even sure what to say.... That was haunting, beautiful, exciting, wondrous, and like many have already said it truly takes you back into that world once again in the best way possible.
This is the start of something very, very special, and I can't wait for the journey in store.... Tomorrow!

César was right, it's very cinematic. Lots of moments from my childhoof have passed through my mind while watching that intro, this is going to be epic. When I play the game my brain is probably going to explode due to an excess of nostalgia going through my head!

I would really like to give my heartfelt thank you for this intro. I am watching it again and again for a few hours already. I must say it may be the most emotional experience I have had in any King's Quest game so far. In addition to being very beautiful cinematically, I am really awed by the way you could put so much emotion in it. Valanice going from motherly pride, to motherly concern and then to anxiety, panic and heartbreak, and even more Graham, with his more controlled style, but still conveying so much emotion, realizing that the "curse" of the family is striking him yet again. I am amazed of how sensitive it was, how sincere, how tasteful, not overdone in any way. I loved the way it had no speech in it. I loved the small nuances, the hands touching, the affection between Cassima and her parents-in-law, old characters attending the wedding (where are Caliphim and Allaria - did they pass away?). I am looking forward for the game, but I must say that even this 6 min intro was worth the wait. I will really cherish it.
