I was a bit astonished at how mean the narrator is to Graham. "Get your hands off of that Graham!" and "Tick-tock tick-tock! Are you still trying to do crazy things Graham?" And then saying how stupid you were for dying. It's actually very fun to have a mean narrator though.

It's a nice change of pace to have a mean narrator. In my opinion, mean ones are the best. Maybe that's why I loved Space Quest 6: The Spinal Frontier so much. Oh, such fond memories of SQ6.
Yea, I love how Amy played the narrator. XD Didn't see the "tick-tock" one though.

A lot of her comments are pretty good. There's a lot more than you think in this game. You just gotta try exploring a bit and clicking on random things with things that make no logical sense.
Ah, got it now. ;D
I think the narrator's lines are often outright hilarious, hoping to see the same tone through all the chapters.
It makes me wonder if Graham even sasses back to Amy- that would be hilarious.

Well, he doesn't sass back per say, but he does respond to her at least once in the first episode. See if you can find that.

Are you referring to his sense of.... notice, dear moderator, that I did not say it.

Did you got the one where she laughs at you and calls you dense? :'(

Where is that one at? She may be a rival of GlaDOS.
I thought the whole mean narrator thing worked wonderfully in Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine (http://www.alemmo.com). Al and the narrator are at each other's throats for most of that game...
...until Al gets a Crowning Moment of Awesome (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/SugarWiki/CrowningMomentOfAwesome?from=Main.CrowningMomentOfAwesome) and finally stands up to the narrator once and for all
Ok, that's a new one for me. I suppose there's still more for me to be exploring...

If you really want to know I can PM you with the location, but seeing episode 1 is short and it might take a while before we have episode 2 you might want to explore a bit more and see if you can find out for yourself.
Ooh, can you pm me? :D
Done!
Thanks!
It's hilarious and I think it reflects our changing social times while still keeping with the old and showing a new style of this adventure quartet. It's lovely when Amy declares, "You're crazy". Me and my sister laughed for 3 minutes at that. You really got to explore every inch of this game to get all the funnies. :D :D
Of course, depending on whether or not you find that stuff funny. :-*
"Tis beyond his reach!"
My favourite is what she says when you get Graham to sit down...
I haven't played very far in but in just a few scenes it makes me feel like the narrator is very well spoken. I love that she has lots of descriptive details on some of the scenery. I'm one of those kind of adventure gamers who likes to try everything out when I see anything that seems like you can interact with it. Plus the voice is kind of soothing (as weird as that sounds XD)
How about the one where she gives away her website and does a whole self promotion act?

I did liked that one a lot aswell, she is so bossy! ;)
I love it when you burn yourself on a torch, and she just bursts out giggling. XD
How could it not have occurred to me to touch a torch?? Or try and kill myself, for that matter! o_O
There's another thing to add to my list of "things to make sure you do the next time around"... And here I thought I'd done pretty well at covering things.
I did find it amusing, however, that Graham could stick his hand in the fountain despite the fact that he was standing near the blacksmith's area in the corner. ^_^;;
Graham is like gadget boy; go go gadget arms, reach that fountain!
It's either that or "tis beyond my reach" ;) :suffer:
In my experience, the "narrator" in old Apple II KQ games was pretty sassy.
Or am I reading something into it that nobody else saw?
I don't know but I totally envy the fact that you played the Apple II KQ games. Seriously
If you haven't already.....try looking at the tree in front of Hassan's ticket booth - tee hee hee

Amy rules! ;D

That HAS to be one of my favorites!
I say Amy does a good job as the Narrator...I think she's not sassy but sexy XP!! Don't blame me but she does sounds sexy right...I think they should have something where Gram tries to seduces her...now that would be really funny...

I agree, one of the best comments there is so far!
Really made me smile :)

I thought it was amazing how she referred to the TSL Asylum! I was like, "Hey! I've been there!" :D
Yea, it was really cool to bring something in from the forums like that. :D Which makes me wonder: how old is the asylum exactly? Know it's way older than me.
I don't know, Tess. ??? If it was here before you, then it's at least four or five years old. I would guess older than that, though.
Now if someone would restart the actualy Asylum...?
It was here before I was, if that helps the timeline any. :P
I remember back in 2006 there was a "KQ9 Asylum Inmate of the Year" award or something similar, so older than that.
That it does Kelsey, since that puts it before 2004 (going by your registration date) rather than the known 2006.
Yes, it really does need to be restarted, it's a long-standing tradition ;D
Yeah, last time I checked you were sneaking into the kitchen carrying a cactus and dressed as a hula girl...?
EDIT: I just checked the first post of the original Asylum thread: February 11, 2004. :o Wow!

The Lunatic of the Year awards! XD
Those were fun. XD

Ooh, we should have another Lunatic of the Year, sounds like fun!

Might be older then that? I joined February 25, 2004 and the Asylum was pretty active already back then (though it could've been become really popular in those two weeks or had it's roots from discussions in other threads)
Alright guys, let's keep the discussion on the narrator, ok?
Oooh, listen to d-d exercising his mod powers! ;)
Okay, sir. We will.
Best KQ narrator ever! I love that it's a girl. Did she write any of her own lines?

Hey, I have exercise my authority somehow, right?
And yes, I must admit that I like the female narrator for once. Girls in video games are so underplayed these days.
pfft, the moment a thread's length is past 2 pages there is no need to stay on topic! :P
That's what you think... But back on the topic at hand...
