Title: Graham the Klepto
Post by: daventry on July 13, 2010, 08:02:34 AM
Oh the Father was in one of the Cloud Trials of KQ2vga, if only People can Stick to the Original sometime  ???

Why is TSL starting on the Green Isles, i assumed Rosella wanted to get Married in Etheria   :)

How do you know that KQ4vga places the Time between KQ3vga Months Apart, that Game isent even out yet.  :-\

Yes, the Father only appears in KQ2VGA.

He's not a part of KQ3VGA.

QuoteWhy is TSL starting on the Green Isles, i assumed Rosella wanted to get Married in Etheria
Because the designers thought it would be a good idea?

Actually if you were going to the King's Quest Companion, it is stated that Rosella moved back to Daventry, and only visits Etheria occasionally. Likely would have married in Daventry. This has partly to do with the fact, if she was to stay in Etheria she would grow older at a faster rate than in Daventry, and could easily become older than her parents, if she stayed there too long. Something like for every hour that passes in Daventry, a day or two passes in Etheria.

So there are all kinds of ideas where the marriage could have taken place, LOL.

KQ3 and KQ4 have been out for years. I thought you said you played them? In the originals, KQ4 begins moments after the end of KQ3, on the day of Alexander's return to Daventry. KQ4 begins with the reunion from the end of KQ3. The manual for KQ4, states that KQ4 begins moments after the ending of KQ3... :p

KQ3VGA ignored that and put 3 months between the reunion, and the passing on the cap scene (in which he helps his father repair the land).

It was booked. Yes, the entire realm. Bureaucracy bends for neither deity nor royalty. :suffer:

Graham's not allowed in Etheria, he has that tendency to take anything that's not nailed down and there's a lot of valuables out in the open in Etheria these days so they just decided to pick a location where anything that's not nailed to the floor is too big to fit in his enormous pockets.

It's perfectly logical.  Would you want any of these characters wandering around your house?  I lose enough random things as it is without having to wonder whether Graham would wander off with my piano bench or one of the burners off my stove thinking they may come in useful when fighting that dragon next week.

Chapter 4: The Trial and Execution of King Graham for Kleptomania

Now that I think of it, it is a good excuse.

Everytime somewhere asks where I left a specific item or if I lost something myself I can just end the matter with a simple; "Graham must have taken it"

Now, is that a "Gray-um" or a "Gram", Rob?

"Gray-um" ofcourse, don't want people to think I lost it when I was cooking something or so  :-\

We're not turning this thread into another Graham pronunciation discussion--that has its own thread already!

Apparently, Graham has some VERY BIG POCKETS since he can fit a SLED in them.  If you don't believe me, go play King's Quest V  ;D ;D ;D

The magic mirror, the shield and the chest of gold were probably much larger combined... than the sled ;).

Is there something going on between Cassima and Graham after Valanice follows Alexander  ???

LOL, Daventry, I make that joke all the time about that shot! And Graham's resigned nod makes it even funnier.  ;D

It's just us mods doing some house cleaning. Nothing to worry about. We just try to keep the forum on topic and tidy.

So who has bigger pockets, Graham or Roger Wilco?  I remember Roger being able to fit an entire ladder in his pocket once in SQ3.  I think that's bigger than a sled.

Their pockets are the same size (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HyperspaceArsenal). ;)

That is a great article! I'd like to see a game actually reference that!

That is a truly fascinating article.  The hyperspace arsenal, interesting.  It'd be funny sometime for Graham to accidentally pull out something Roger had stowed or vice versa (doesn't Graham see into a Space Quest game or some other game in the original KQ2??).  I especially like, "as long as you can't see it, it weighs nothing."

Don't forget Laura Bow and her purse that she can fit a MUMMY inside of. :P

I had forgotten about the Laura Bow games, my bad.  These games are like the exact opposite of the Katamari games you know.

And I love that this topic is sticky'd.

Noticed that too.

That only proves how importent the moderaters think this issue is. Guess Graham took a few things from them too.

While we're on this off-topic, who carries around weirder stuff, Graham or MacGyver?

This topic was stickied by accident. And now that is being rectified. Mod powers, ACTIVATE!

Hahaha I pretty much assumed that was on accident, every so often we'll go to move a topic and then suddenly have no idea where it went or whether it became sticky'd.

"I meant to put that topic in resolved issues, where the heck is it?  Oh it's in the hyperspace arsenal, my bad..."

Graham ofcourse! what does MacGyver carries around that can be concidered weird?

you could better compare Graham with Alex. I always thought a Dangling Participle was kinda odd...

Well, the Isle of wonder is pretty weird too. And you never know what graham will end up carrying in episode 2...  :suffer:

I loved the Isle of Wonder in KQ6, he picked up the most unbelievably random items there.  The hole in the wall was fantastic, as was the "iceberg" lettuce.

I don't know about pockets, but I do know who has the largest suitcase (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5uPGgEuTHg#t=3m0s). ;)
