I was actually watching the death scenes through game-by-game recently. I feel they're an integral part of King's Quest, as well as the alternate endings! My favourite is in KQIV when Rosella marries Edgar - it's fun to imagine how things would pan out for her.

No! Death scenes are part of the fun in the series. I love reading the puns afterwards.
One of the staples of most all of Sierra's adventure games are the death sequences. They're just so integral to the experience. You can't say you've played King's Quest or any Sierra adventure game until you've died. Several times. I love the space quest deaths particularly. They are just too funny...
And that video is just too awesome for words. Maybe it's just my darker side, but I love the screams when Graham falls... My friends tell me I have issues. I'm starting to believe them now XD ROFLOL

Death sequences are just an important part of any sierra adventure game I've ever played. A lot of effort was really put into them. And they're just too funny. Anyone ever hear of The Many Deaths of Roger Wilco? It's basiclly a screenshot compilation of all the possible ways to die in Space Quest games.
I love the Instant Replay (tm) deaths in SQ1. Whenever I reach those spots, without exception, I save and kill Roger just to see them. :)
