So a lot of times I'll be checking the forum and I'll notice that there is someone else on at the same time as me, and we kind of talk back and forth to each other through threads. That's fun, of course, but it interferes with the flow of games! (You guys and your goofy "wait two posts" rule! ::))
So this is the thread to chitchat back and forth with whoever happens to be on at the same time as you. It doesn't have to be deep conversation (or even be on topic), anything will do. Plus, it'll boost post count, and that's always a great day for everyone!
Sooooooo......hello. I actually don't think anyone is on right now (;]), but here I am.
won't work for me! i open every thread with new posts and when i am at the last thread i leave the forums usualy, so that doesn't give me the time to chat :P
Well, there's one more post you've made. :scholar:
Mission accomplished.

They should amend it to "wait two posts or at least an hour" or something like that. :D

Whose rule is this?
It's pretty much the rule for every forum game to keep things from getting too spammy. :P
My suggestion would still do that.
what is the fun of a non spammy forumgame? ::) ::)
Forumgames are pretty much spam in the first place.
Too much spam is bad for you. :P
If that was the case, everyone in the Asylum would be very dead right now.
Meh, this is pretty tame compared to what I've seen. :P

Lol.
Hi Doon.
I'm breaking the "wait 2 posts" rule, but:
Hey Haids. Are you listening to music right now?
I don't think the Two Posts rule really applies here, since this is less of a game and more of a conversation thread.
A Useless Conversation Thread, if you will. :P
Very useless indeed.
Yeah - I think that was at least part of the point of the thread - getting around the two-post rule.
which is different from the general chat thread because... ::)

Ummm... you can get a higher post count if you post in both?
Too true. ;D
It's all about the numbers, right? ::)
As evidenced by the fact that this subconversation is still going, yes, it is. ;D

Well, from what I remember back in the day, the General Chat thread was relatively serious, while the Useless Conversation Thread was for loony misadventures. :P
So, which is this? It doesn't seem serious, but it doesn't seem very loony, either.
Three pounds of flax? :P
Jafar, seeing as this thread has to real topic in the first place, I'd just like to say that I really like your avatar.
That is all.
Thanks. That reminds me, I outta try to make some more one of these days... :P
You should. You have some serious talent my friend.
How exactly are you making them? From scratch?
Aw, it's just some simple recoloring, that's all. When I can do the hats properly, THEN you can say I have talent. XD

How exactly are you making them? From scratch?
Well, basically, I take a simple standing sprite of Mega Man: (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b180/RetroJafar/MegaNoHelm.png)
Then I take a quick screenshot to use for reference. (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b180/RetroJafar/Alexander.png)
I put them next to each other, and go to work at Mega Man's sprite in MS Paint. Sometimes the hair needs tweaking, and sometimes the outfits are a little complicated, but I just do my best until I come up with something that looks half-decent. (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b180/RetroJafar/MegaAlex.png)
Some characters are a bit trickier though...what with their hats, purses, facial hair, curly shoes....
At least the latter two I can just edit, but I pretty much have to make the hats by scratch, with varying results.
I STILL can't get Pepper's silly colonial hat to look right... XD
That's pretty cool. Do you use Photoshop for anything?
Not so far. I haven't really needed any fancy effects. MS Paint's basic, but it does fine for simple jobs like this.
Photoshop is incredible.

Jafar, seeing as this thread has to real topic in the first place, I'd just like to say that I really like your avatar.
Didn't we used to have a thread which purpose was not to be on topic? which ofcourse was impossible since if you go offtopic in an offtopic thread you are on topic, but myea.
Dude, you're killing my buzz! ::)
This is just for chatting. It doesn't matter if it's on topic, it doesn't even matter if you actually chat or say a random word (remember the TRAIN thread ;)), but yeah, it gets around the two-post rule. ;D
TRAIN!
That reminds me of Inception.
Haha, there should be another thread like the Train thread. That was a good one.
Loved the train thread. That thing went on ridiculously long XD
How could we top that, though? Like, the "locomotive" thread or something? :P

Hi Doon! *Waves*
We are oftentimes on at the same time. Do we live in the same time zone or some such thing?
I reside in the Eastern Standard time zone. And you?
Pacific Standard Time. :( I'm a Washingtonian.
Oh, cool! I've never been there but may be traveling in that general region in the next year or so. There's something very cool and awesome about The West.
*Puffs out chest* Well, you know...;)
But truly, you're right. Especially the Pacific Northwest. How come you might be coming this way?
Long story short, I'm taking a year off between high school and college to basically do whatever I want - including working for Phoenix Online (I applied for QA Tester). *crosses fingers*
Anyways, I have some relatives out West that are working in my future profession and are willing to host me for a few weeks at a time. So in the interest of acquiring life knowledge and experience, I'm going West!
Hi Tess! *Waves*
XD Hi!
How's your day going? Anything of note happening this weekend?
Pretty great, actually. Nothing I had to get done today other than grocery shopping.
My sister and father are going skydiving, which I do not like, too dangerous. Personally there's no way I would ever do that, I hate heights and the sensation of falling. :S
Other than that, not much. Just waiting for orientation on Monday and then classes starting on Wednesday.
Dude, I've never gone skydiving before, and if I did I think there'd be a trail of urine behind me. ::) You're kind of a thrill-seeker, aren't you? :)
Class is already starting again? Sheesh. Good luck with that!
Thanks. Looking forward to it! Just hope I don't get completely swamped with work.
How about your weekend?
Nothing that I know of, which is fine. Seems like I've always got something going on, but this weekend is chill. Yaaay!
Maybe I'll play the Sims all weekend.
Hey, Haids.
Hi waltz! :-* What's up wicchu?
I'd like to announce the word "orangutan" to everyone.
You see, it's a very special word because it begins with the word "orange" but it gets cut off by an "utan". How many other words do that? None. Because if they did, they would be "orangutan" or perhaps "oranutan". One of those is already a word and the other is just silly. The defense rests.
Thank you. You may now return to your regularly scheduled off-topic chatting.
Sweet. I dig. Any other words we should be aware of, Cray?
(Posted on: August 23, 2010, 05:19:13 PM)
Doon, we're totally breaking the rules on other threads by double posting...
Indeed we are. Oh well.
Should we continue to rebel?
Of course! Though I no longer have anything to say...
Well let me head over the magic soda machine...I think I have some spare change clinking around my pocket...
Whoops, not the soda machine. It was the question game. ::)
