Hello everyone
I have just gone through the intro and episode 1 again. I still find it curious that there is no note on the pawn
shop door in the intro. But later when graham goes through the town he sees a note on the pawn shop door.
The note which says 'closed due to wedding' (this is crossedout) and underneath 'closed due to tragedy'. The
note disappears almost immediately'. I am wondering if this will be explained in episode 2 or later.
It will be explained.

I don't think the team will announce when it will be explained, but like liggy said, it will be explained.

Glad someone noticed that happening. Hmm, yes, it is quite mysterious, isn't it? :suffer:

I see what you did there.
I found it pretty interesting myself. Mainly because it's such a benign thing to have done. The motivations of making that vanish are a mystery to me. I'm having trouble even formulating a theory. Was it the dark stranger? Shadrack? A third party? Is Graham dreaming all of this because he, not his kids, was the one cursed and it's all in his head? It's just so inexplicably bizarre. I want to try to figure out a theory, but I just don't know where to start.
At the very least it's more complex than plain old disappearing ink.

Just out of curiosity, liggy, are you part of the team? 'Cause I didn't know if you were. ;]

You know, I really like the theory that Graham is dreaming everything because he's the cursed one...
Me too, kinda Twilight Zoney.

He is, but it's pretty recent - so you're not
that far behind. :)

My personal theory was that the note was left there by the Pawn Shop owner, Hakim, when he left his shop. The sign said, "Gone to Wedding". This may be me presuming too much, but I think the second sentence was written by someone who was not Hakim. Doesn't make sense to me that the Pawn Shop owner would feel the need to update his "Gone Fishing" sign on the door of his shop. So maybe Shadrack (or another Black Cloak member) had enchanted the sign with a "warning" of what was going to happen. Obviously, I'm taking shots in the dark, but it would seem that Hakim would be too distraught by the Tragedy to worry about the petty sign on his shop's door.

My bad, I was debating between saying, "Hakim" or "the Pawn Shop owner". I guess I forgot to take out the "the". :-[
But why then during the introduction, when the pawn shop owner is at the wedding, is there
no 'gone to wedding' sign to start with?

Hakim didn't leave for the wedding yet? The intro cuts away from the banner to the castle. There's no telling how much time went by.

Thanks Snabbott. You're very good at answering questions without making the asker feel like a nerd for not knowing. :)
Feeling like a nerd for not knowing something does seems a bit off :P

On the contrary, a nerd pays close attention to small details that raise many questions. If you didn't notice that something seems off, that makes you perfectly normal. ;D

That should also answer your question Haids. ;) When you are on the same team as Cesar, it is very contagious.
What is your role on the team?
I'm a beta tester.
Jealous!
That's very cool.

Yes, I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of the team and it is a priveledge. However, I will say that since we are the ones providing feedback on what needs to be fixed, we are forced to view the ugly "beast" side of the game before we can bring you the "beauty" on release day. This is somewhat of a bummer and it does ruin the experience slightly, even though it is fulfilling to see how it eventually develops into a shining jewel. A lot of the surprises are also spoiled for us as well. Additionally, episode 2 will be released shortly and believe me when I say it, you are going to enjoy what you see. So, try not to be jealous :) I think you will enjoy what is in store for you and it is not very far off.
That's a good point. Still, you're pretty lucky.
I honestly never thought of it that way. I suppose that would be a buzzkill...but it would make the end product that much more satisfying!
Plus, there's the ability to on the sending end of the :suffer: rather than the receiving end. That must be nice.
Yeah, I wonder what that's like? ::)
Well, the procedure is something like this:
First, you wait for someone to make an inquiry about the game.
Then, you chuckle softly to yourself and send out a line of:
:suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer: :suffer:
Like so.
Lastly, you laugh out loud like an evil dark wizard who has cursed an unsuspecting family.
Then, you feel bad later knowing that you caused :'( and :(

The guilt really sets in, huh? I guess you need a stone-cold personality in this industry. :P
Still, the ball is in your court, since you can effectively use the Suffer emoticon. You also know more about the game than we do. So I'd say the pros outweigh the cons.
I agree. Personally, I would enjoy seeing "the beast" evolve into "beauty".

Very true. I played through Episode 1 so many times that I actually haven't played it since the release. There's just something about being able to quote every line and STILL having to play through the same scene numerous times more to beta test that kinda ruins the whole experience :P
I kind of enjoy seeing the bugs and seeing the game develop, but I agree that it does take a lot of the surprise out of it. It's kind of fun using the :suffer:, though! XD
Sometimes the Sims 3 does programming glitch videos, you guys should do the same thing.
