hmmm.... what have you been doing all those years?? I mean, you have posted lately a lot, you didn't do that before?
Title: Re:w00t on a stick!
Post by: Storm on March 29, 2004, 07:45:26 PM
There were less people on the forums back way back then, so there were less people to talk to. Say might be a mean, lean posting-machine, but even she had to deal with fewer threads, especially fewer rant threads ::)

Yeah the forums definitely weren't as active as they are these days.  Heh, just a few weeks ago you were lucky to find someone else online and now there's at least 2 every time I check (and I check here pretty often too!)  ;-D

Post by: J-ROC on March 29, 2004, 08:22:50 PM
I really have no reason to post here other than to get my 50th post.

And it two days.

(Okay, so I don't get out enough. :P )
Title: Re:w00t on a stick!
Post by: Storm on March 29, 2004, 08:29:45 PM
Yeah! it's heck on wheels around here nowdays :P
I can't even finish reading all the new posts before a ton of new ones appears. I kinda miss the days when I could find the place deserted and have time to read everything... now if I can't even write a long post without 3 other people jumping in and posting before me ;)

EDIT: As I was saying... :P

It is quite busy around (my) midnight, and it is always fun reading these forums ; )

I'm a spring person... it's the only time the weather is decent around here. Too bad it usually only lasts for about a month or two at most.

'Looks' to me, are not as important as the 'content'. So I don't care with the site or the forum looks like, as long as I can talk to the people I like, I'm happy. ;]

Yeah, me too. It's too warm in summer and you can't make any snowmen. :(

In most IDE's you can configure the background colours.  Well at least I know you can in Visual Studio .NET, JBuilder & Flash.  XD

I have the KQ9 Alex wallpaper as my background. Mmm... (drool)...

...er.

(cleans up the drool)

Anyhoo. I also find bright-white backgrounds to be uncomfortable to look at for long periods of time. At home I have Opera and Notepad open the most, and I have both set to have a sort of pale blue as a default background. If I go to read a website with a bright white background for a long period of time, I have a user CSS sheet I switch too that's a bit tamer on the eyes.

At work I'm stuck with default background-ed Word and IE5. But I generally don't have to look at either for very long periods of time, so it's not too bad. Our database program gets a lot of use from me, but it's a very plain light-text-on-black DOS-based program, so not bad. The desktop wallpaper is random images of scenery throughout the country. Kind of interesting, and easy enough on the eyes. No, it's the fact that the monitors are old, and thus can't handle more than a 60Hz refresh, that's the issue. :P

Peace & Luv, Liz
