Title: Meet the Mods: dark-daventry
Post by: dark-daventry on October 18, 2010, 06:31:03 PM
So, now it's time for my Meet the Mods segment!

Forum Name: Dark-Daventry
Goes By: DD or whatever variation of Dark-Daventry you want to use. I'm not fussy.
Real Name: I was debating whether or not I should put this in, and I figure I should because my name is already in the credits for TSL and it's in my POStudios e-mail below. So, without further ado, my name is... Drum roll please... RUMPLESTILTZKIN! Ok, not really. It's Chris McDermott.
Current location: Massachusetts (Originally I was going to be mean and put only New England in, but I figure I'll go easy on everyone)

General Interests: I've got a very unhealthy addiction to TV, having grown up watching it as far back as I can remember. My other interests include Video Games, Anime/Manga and technology in general. One of my all time favorite TV franchises is Star Trek. I own roughly 23 seasons of it on DVD and the 11th movie on Blu-Ray (I did own the first ten on DVD, but I sold them in order to eventually upgrade to the Blu-Rays that are out now). My favorite series of Star Trek is Deep Space Nine. I could go on and on about how much I love DS9, but I'll spare everyone that pain. I'm also a big fan of Science-Fiction in general. I like Stargate, Farscape and so much more! Oh, and I can't forget about Joss Whedon. I worship him. Dollhouse, Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are all among my favorite shows of all time.

King's Quest: My father and I used to bond playing King's Quest when I was little. We played all 8 of them together, all the way through. And then again and again. For years. My dad loves KQ5, while I love KQ6. We have our difference of opinion on that, but we still love KQ regardless. And finding TSL for me was like finding my soul mate in some regards. You don't think it will ever happen, and then BAM! It does (Please note, dear reader, that I have not found my soul mate yet. I'm only 19... I'm a little on the young side for that...)

As for my history with TSL... Well, that's quite a long one. Officially, I registered on the forums in 2005, but don't let that number fool you. I've been around for QUITE some time. I first learned of TSL through an article in PC Games Magazine back around 2002 I think (It was a LONG time ago, and my memory is very spotty the farther back I go...). I was here before the age of the Blue Forums. I was here at the tail end of the white website phase. I lurked on the forums for years until I finally joined, and I'm happy I did.

My employment with TSL began back in the day when I decided, "Hey, I wanna work for them!" Due to some minor issues that had to be worked out first, I started working for the team a few years later, albeit in a limited capacity.  My first duty was to keep a watch over our old facebook group, TSL Phoenicians. Back then I reported directly to Yonkey and had no contact with the rest of the team. I eventually pitched the idea to Yonkey of a twitter account, and I became the overseer of that as well. When TSL got shut down by Activision, I started to have more contact with the team. I was instructed to speak with Cez, and I was officially brought on to the PR team in order to help tell the world of TSL's triumphant rebirth. My mod position didn't come about until around the release of Ep 1. I asked to become a mod, and my request was granted. I now do various things for the team, including, but not limited to, beta-testing, moderating the forums, brainstorming PR ideas and even writing a few FW articles... Not yet published of course, but in due time... In due time...

Fun/Interesting facts: For something weird about me, I've got PLENTY of DVDs. I mean I could own a whole blockbuster store with the amount I got. 23 seasons of Star Trek, all 10 seasons of Stargate SG1, all five seasons of Stargate Atlantis, the complete series of Farscape, the complete Thundercats series... The list goes on and on (into the hundreds I'm sure. I haven't actually counted...). So if you ever want to borrow a DVD from me, let me know. Chances are I have it, or know where to get it.

Right now I'm a student at the New England Institute of Art studying Web Design and Interactive Media. First semester is a pain in the butt... I've also worked in a grocery store for the past five years. I'm no stranger to customer service, and I've dealt with some particularly picky customers.

And I know many people have been DYING to see a photo of me, so I figure I should actually post one for once... The photos you see below were taken with my new digital camera, courtesy of my grocery store (And by new, I mean REALLY new, as in I-Just-Got-It-Two-Weeks-Ago new). Frankly, I like the last photo a lot... And in case you're wondering, no that is not my hat. It is my friend's hat which was forced onto me... And yes, that shoe did enter my mouth. And no, it didn't taste particularly good or wholesome.

Ah, I see I'm not the only Star Trek fan here! That's good to know! I do love my star trek... I mean, I own 23 seasons of it on DVD... That's kind of insane and shows at least some level of dedication lol.

By the way, Enchantermon, is your avatar by any chance an image of Digimon Tamers? I can't remember the exact character name, but it looks an awful lot like a character from Tamers... I must say this now: I LOVE DIGIMON! haha. Particularly season 3. I know it's not favored much by other Digimon fans, but I love it.

And yes, Waltz, it appears we are!

Indeed. If I had the money, I would own all of the series' on DVD, and someday I will.

Indeed it is! It's Ryo. :)
I love Digimon as well; it's the show that got me into anime. I still remember watching the first episode of Season 1 the first time it aired in the US. I immediately fell in love with it. I agree that Tamers is the best. It's certainly not as reviled as Frontier and Savers seem to be (except many seem to hate on just the English dub of Tamers for some reason, which I thought was really good).
Have you watched any of the new season, Xros Wars? If you don't mind it almost completely redefining Digimon, it's really pretty interesting (and in HD! :D)

FINALLY! Someone else who likes Tamers besides me! I had a feeling his name was Ryo, but I wasn't entirely sure. I haven't seen Xros Wars yet, but I have watched the intro. I gotta say, it actually looks pretty cool. But I'm still waiting for my Tamers continuation. The series did end on a cliff-hanger (ok, in some countries it did). I don't know why people hate on tamers so much. The dub was great (I'll be honest and admit that I never saw the subs. I prefer dubs because I like to watch tv, not read it.) and it was a lot more mature than all the other seasons, past and present, in my opinion. I could gush about tamers for hours, but I've got school work to take care of. Darn you, college work load!

You really should take a look, although you'll have to wait a while if you don't want to watch the sub. That's assuming that it gets dubbed in the first place, but I have a feeling that it will.

That would be pretty sweet. I don't think it'll happen, though, because I think the story was continued through drama CDs. Not that they couldn't continue the anime anyway, but I think it's less likely.

I love everything about tamers. The animation, in my eyes, is far better than season's 1 and 2, and it's a lot more vibrant. The story line, for me, was MUCH more powerful. I mean, it actually deals with the death of a digimon, and what that means for the tamer. In this case, Jerry. And I must say, the D-Reaper was so awesome. And, for some odd reason, I just LOVE Bio-merging. Oh, did you see the dubs they did of the movies that were previously undubbed? I really like the tamers ones (gee, what a surprise lol). I've got them on my comp because Disney is being stupid as usual and not releasing Digimon on DVD. I WANT MAH TAMERS ON DVD! lol Oh, and Belzemon. Nothing more must be said. He is just that awesome. I still want them to dub X-Evolution: The Thirteenth Royal Knight. Did you ever read the manga? The manga that hasn't (officially) been translated into english? V-tamer is made of pure epic win. And so is NEXT. Wow, I'm gushing a lot more than I intended to. And I'm asking way too many questions and I'm going on and on unnecessarily.... Dude, you're like a carbon copy of me. That's almost kind of creepy XD

If you can find me, then sure. But I must warn you, I'm an expert at looking like Waldo. Ok, not really... But seriously if you want to watch star trek, you're best bet is to buy it on DVD. Sadly, it's not available via hulu or netflix, and the DVD's can be pretty expensive. The blu-ray of TOS season 1 cost me 80 bucks alone, and most of TNG cost me 130 a pop at Barnes and Noble. I didn't buy all the seasons at once. In fact, the first star trek DVD I ever owned was season 6 of DS9 (Yes, I started with season 6 of ds9. Don't judge me... It was all BJ's had at the time... And my Christmas money had to go somewhere...) It took me years to aquire the library that I do now. I own a lot of DVDs, and the list just grows bigger and bigger by the year. I have all six seasons of Highlander: The Series, the complete Stargate SG1 and Atlantis (complete with both Direct to DVD movies and the original movie) the Complete farscape series, The complete thundercats series, and believe it or not, my most prized possession is the Ronin Warriors Complete Collection. I'm an absolute Ronin Warriors JUNKIE! I LOVE that show with all my heart. I love the dub. It's actually pretty good considering how much they tend to screw dubs up. Oh I could go on and on about the hundreds of DVDs I own, but I'm sure you don't want to read all that.

Yeah, that was definitely one of the most emotional parts of the entire series. They did something similar in Adventure/Adventure 02, but stretching it out over two seasons detracted a little from its impact.
Quote from: dark-daventry on October 18, 2010, 10:00:58 PMAnd I must say, the D-Reaper was so awesome.
Indeed, and it was a nice break from the enemy always being a Digimon, though the way they defeated it, while also a nice break from the traditional firing-all-at-once shonen ending, was kind of...anticlimactic.
Quote from: dark-daventry on October 18, 2010, 10:00:58 PMAnd, for some odd reason, I just LOVE Bio-merging.
'Cause it's awesome! :D It was a nice new take on the way Digimon and humans interact, and set the stage nicely for Frontier.

I want them all of DVD, too. Movies, series, the lot. I know Disney is releasing Data Squad on DVD. Of course it's only the English dub without the Japanese (because they're marketing to the younger crowd), but I'll probably get it anyway. I bought DVDs of Adventure 01 and 02 a while back from Amazon for a pretty penny, and after receiving them discovered they were bootlegs. :/
But yeah, the movies were awesome. I need to watch them again, actually. Maybe we'll get lucky and Disney will release them, but I'm not holding my breath.
Quote from: dark-daventry on October 18, 2010, 10:00:58 PMOh, and Belzemon. Nothing more must be said. He is just that awesome.
I liked Impmon until he turned truly evil and began rampaging. When he came back to his senses, though, then he became awesome in my eyes; a true success story.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been a huge supporter of TSL over the years. I'm actually kind of a pessimist in real life believe it or not, but for some odd reason, it's just not in me to be pessimistic about KQ. It has some sort of quality about it that I know everything will be alright. I truly hope my posts over the years have inspired people. I love KQ. In a way, it defined my childhood, much the same way TV did. In fact, if I wasn't watching TV, I was playing KQ. No joke. I started watching star trek at like 5 or 6, and I can't even remember when my dad got me into KQ. It was so long ago really.

I suggest you go and find the scanlations. V-Tamers is made of pure epic win. I haven't actually finished it yet, but regardless, it's awesome. It'd make a great series. I have the manga for Tamers (all 4 volumes) but I prefer the anime. You and I seem to have quite a lot in common. Star trek, Digimon. It's kind of uncanny. You're seriously like a carbon copy of myself in a lot of ways. Kind of creepy, yet kind of cool!

Nice to meet ya.  I'm a Digimon fan too, but Frontier was my favorite with Adventure as a close second.  I liked Tamers and how serious the story was, but I didn't like Beelzemon.  He was much more sympathetic than Sephiroth, but anything that reminds me of Sephiroth puts a bad taste in my mouth.  I did cry when Leomon died, and anything that touches me emotionally like that has to be good.  Biomerging was also wicked awesome.  I also have the Tamers manga, though I wish they didn't abridge it like they did.

I'll definitely look them up. :)
They condensed all of Tamers into 4 volumes? How in the world...? They must have done some serious slicing. I'd still like to get it, though.
Creepy and cool at the same time; that's awesome. I'm a little behind you on Star Trek though. I haven't seen much of DS9 or Voyager; I never had the opportunity. But I will, eventually, watch them both all the way through. It's just a matter of time.

Nice to meet ya.  I'm a Digimon fan too, but Frontier was my favorite with Adventure as a close second.
Adventure is my second as well, with Frontier as my third.
Quote from: LadyTerra on October 19, 2010, 09:17:22 PMI did cry when Leomon died, and anything that touches me emotionally like that has to be good.
Well said. The emotional depth of Tamers is one of the things I love about it.

Maybe it's just me, but I guess I like the series that are always looked down on. Frontier wasn't bad in my eyes. I quite enjoyed it. If I had to rank the series, I would most definitely put Tamers first, but I'm not sure what I would put second. I guess Adventure 02 would go second and frontier third, but thats not set in stone.

Voyager isn't all that great compared to DS9, in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, it was most certainly good, but not my favorite. I like DS9 the best for a lot of reasons. One of them is definitely Captain Sisko. I LOVE SISKO! He has such power in his voice. DS9 is a different sort of star trek. It's a break from the formula, and I like that. It takes place on a space station, the captain is torn between his duty with starfleet and his role as the Emmissary of the prophets, and the whole Gamma Quadrant thing. I don't want to spoil anything, but the series really does touch on religion in a lot of ways, and it's an interesting take. Religion is always a touchy subject, but I think DS9 really did it pretty well. Now go watch DS9!

And yes, they did condense it into four volumes. Adventure was in five, and Adventure 02 was in two. Frontier never got (officially) translated. The best digimon manga in my opinion though is V-Tamer. I love it. It's basically an alternate universe prequel to Adventure, I think. It's been a while since I've read it (I intend to re-read it and actually get to finishing it this time).

Adventure 02 is my least favorite, I think. I didn't realize it until just recently when I watched it all the way through with English subs, but a lot of it just doesn't make sense. Dagomon's Ocean, a potentially great concept, felt tacked on, everybody's slapping everybody else, evolutions (besides armor evolutions) were introduced in very dull "Oh, I guess I'll suddenly evolve now" ways, Oikawa uses the wrong card to open the gate, etc. etc. And BelialVamdemon...a truly terrific setup for an epic battle wasted on the horribly anti-climactic ending.
Not to mention I never got to see Taiora or Takari realized. :'(
Of course, it had its highlights, too. Angewomon and LadyDevimon's catfight part 2, WarGreymon and BlackWarGreymon duking it out and the World Tour.
Adventure 02 wasn't completely bad, but it certainly could have been much better.

I remember reading somewhere that DS9 was basically a soap opera in space, which turned me off to it a little. Didn't discourage me from watching it, because I will when I can, but I'm hoping it'll end up being more substantial than that.

I suppose you could say DS9 is a soap opera in space, but I love it.

As for Adventure 02, it's been some time since I've actually watched it. I should probably get back to that sometime soon...

That's not to say it's bad, of course. Soap operas are usually pretty shallow (at least from what I've heard), but they don't have to be. Perhaps DS9 is the only good soap opera. ^_^

Yeah. You may see what I'm talking about; I rewatched it subbed because I heard people talking about all of the weirdness in it and I didn't believe them, but when I watched it again, I noticed it a lot.

AKA, a space opera. :)

I don't know if that could apply to DS9--from what I've heard, that's more of just a drama. But 'space opera' is a genre term. I've heard it applied to Star Wars, actually.

Wow.  I have too much time on my hands finding this stuff.  Anyway, there's an anime reviewer, JesuOtaku, working on a Digimon retrospective, and she's done a great job so far.  Here's the link to Adventure:

I have no idea when she'll get 02 up.  I'll post the link when she does.

Each episode is only 22 minutes, though. One 22-minute segment of the day isn't that much of an investment, imo. People with families may not be able to do this, but while I was in college and away from my family, I would watch anime while I ate in order to make the best use of my time, since a meal for me usually takes about a half-hour anyway.

Title: I'm coming out...
Post by: dark-daventry on December 12, 2010, 11:58:29 AM
So, I've been thinking of this for a while, and I've discussed it with the PR team, and I think I'm going to do it now. I think you as a community have a right to know, and I feel that this community is mature enough to handle the truth. That truth being that I am gay. The reasons I am coming out on the forum are two-fold. One, I want to encourage anyone to feel free to express themselves openly, whether they're gay, major science geeks, or just plain awesome. And two, I want to be able to express myself more openly on these wonderful forums. Normally, I am not the kind of guy that believes the whole world needs to know of my sexuality, but I feel a commitment to the community. You've stuck with us, the whole team, through thick and thin. Hell, before I joined the team, I stuck with them no matter what happened. And I feel you have a right to know about myself in a little more detail in return. In this quickly changing world, homosexuality is on a fast track to becoming widely accepted, but there are still those out there that oppose it. I believe in freedom of speech as well as freedom of expression, and I welcome everyone's personal opinion. I don't want these forums to become a battleground for anything, be it personal matters or political matters. These forums should be a place for everyone to come together and put whatever prejudices they may have aside. We're gathering together as a community for one reason: To support Phoenix Online Studios. I am a fan and an employee of Phoenix Online Studios who just happens to be gay. I'm proud of who I am and I'm proud of this community. You've all accomplished something I honestly didn't think could ever happen in my lifetime. You've revived the King's Quest genre, you fought two corporate juggernauts and won. That's no easy feat. And I was right there along with you. We all come from different walks of life. Each forum member here is unique in every way. We're all individuals who gathered together for a cause. Some are religious, some are gay, some are teachers, some are college students... The list goes on and on. The point is, we all gathered together despite what makes us different. We found a common ground, a common belief. The fact that I'm gay, I'm sure, will not change this. But I feel you deserve to know. That being said, I hope this doesn't change anything. I'm still the same old dark-daventry that you all know and (hopefully) love. I'm coming out to you all so all forum members can feel free to express themselves no matter what. I am taking the first step. Will anyone follow with me?

Well, as long as we're being honest...
Since I'm a Christian, I have my own views on homosexuality based on the views of God presented in the Bible. That said, I don't think any less of you because of it. I'm still glad that you are a part of the community and the team, and your lifestyle won't change that. :) Everyone on the team has been doing tremendous work, so if their personal lives contain things I don't agree with, that isn't going to affect my opinion of them or the work that they do. This includes you. :)

Thanks, and thanks for the honesty. My best friend is Christian, and she's totally down with my sexuality. And because she's Christian, I try to be open minded about religion in general. I'm not that religious, but I respect other religions, so long as they respect me. I'll be honest and say I have a little beef with The Westboro Baptist Church, but they aren't strictly anti-homosexual. Their anti-america. They protest the funerals of American soldiers. Have some respect for the men and women who defended our country! Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the bible tell people to be respectful of one another? I try not to engage in religious arguments, and I feel that religion and politics should remain separate. Discussions on religion and politics, in any capacity, have a tendency to get out of hand. I think, as long we can keep the discussions respectful, they can exist on this forum. And I think Cesar mentioned that Corridor 9 would make us all think about religion and science differently. I'm totally looking forward to corridor 9!

The Bible does command us to love one another as Christ loved us (His love is unconditional), and things like protesting at funerals certainly aren't loving and I believe are not Biblically sound.

Props for actually posting this.  I pretty much am on the same boat with enchantermon here.  I'm not so much a "religious" person, but I believe in God and Jesus, and the Bible.  More on that in another thread somewhere, I think.

So yeah... nothing wrong.  I'm glad we can all be honest here.  A couple months ago (I think... I have a really bad sense of time right now though) I made a thread admitting that I am actually 14 years old and joined when I was like 12 or 11. (I had said I was 18)  I eventually felt the need to just be honest and tell people here the truth and now I feel a lot better here (even though I haven't been posting much)

Believe me, the original was so much worse. If they were gonna leave that in there, we'd have some issues. I almost feel like we should release bloopers and discarded lines, but who knows if that will ever happen.

And yes, he should read children's books. Him reading the book the oyster on The Isle of Wonder really sounded pretty good!

Hey, I'm a mod, and it's my thread. I give this conversation my official seal of approval. And, it is technically on topic. Let's make it even more on-topic: Prince Alexander of the Kingdom of Daventry, from the acclaimed video game series King's Quest, by Roberta Williams, Published and developed by Sierra Online Entertainment, is sexy. Very, very sexy. And, his voice, particularly, that from King's Quest 6: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow, is dreamy. The most recent interpretation from Phoenix Online Studios' own The Silver Lining, is even more sexy. And his voice is equally as dreamy. There. Is that now on-topic enough?

Oh- wow! Good on you Dark Daventry! I know how bad it is to hold in a secret deep inside that you want to tell people but know you shouldn't till the right moment. Homosexuality is still such a taboo thing even in modern society. I strongly believe though that with kind of open mindset and open heart, being homosexual will be an acceptable thing in 50 years time. Like showing skin. It took a LONG time before showing ANY skin was acceptable- heck, just showing ankles was sexual at one time, but now look! Women get away with bikinis and all sorts and it's ok. I think with determination, future generations wont need to shy away.

I have alot of Gay / Lesbian / bi / etc... friends, and to me, as long as they accept that I am not lesbian, and that I am 100% straight, then I'll giggle about ANYTHING they're interested in like all the rest. Welcome to the Alexander Fanclub, hon  I hope things are easier for you now that you've come out

This. :)

Well, for what it's worth, I've been out in various places, such as facebook, my close friends and my family. I've been out with some of the team members, but that's all because of facebook. Now I'm out on the forums, and it feels good to feel accepted. I won't get into my personal opinions on religion here, as they don't belong here. All I'll say is that I respect religions so long as they respect me. So far, I've been respected, and that's good. The way I think, I'm not a gay employee of Phoenix Online Studios, I'm an employee of Phoenix Online Studios who just happens to be gay. Which means, I put my job first over my personal life. I don't think the whole world needs to know about my sexuality, and I don't flaunt it. Granted, my friends have dubbed me the straightest gay guy. I'm into a lot of "straight" things, so I don't fit the stereotypes, which makes it easier for me to "blend in" should I choose to. But as I said before, I believe you, the community, has a right to know about this. If I'm going to be working with PR, I think the community has a right to know about this. And besides, my coming out will help to pave the way for potentially more forumers to express themselves. If there are any other gay forumers out there, don't be afraid to come out. My coming out here has proved that we have an accepting community.

I can't remember for the life of me what it's called, but there's this hilarious movie with Cuba Gooding Jr. where he pretends to be gay to get onto a cruise ship for free or something.  Been a while since I've seen it but he performs a musical number to this piece.

Do you really wanna play this game with me, sister? I know quite a few things you may not... For example: I work in a grocery store. I have for five years. If I really wanted to, I could use my connections in the industry to stop selling your favorite products in your area. This would require me to go to my manager and ask him to make a bunch of calls, basically playing telephone. I could do it. I have friends in every major grocery chain in the U.S. You don't wanna mess with me. I will CRUSH your bread! I will CURDLE your milk! I WILL RULE THE GROCERY INDUSTRY FOREVER!!!!!! (or not...)

I could also just convince Phoenix Online Studios to stop producing the game... Or better yet, just change the whole alexander plot to make him gay... I do work for Phoenix, so I could. Not that my evil intentions would be listened to, but it's within my power to pitch the idea... The possibilities of what I could do are endless. Trust me, you don't wanna be messing with me. In fact, I already blackmail my teachers with their groceries. I have control of the food they buy. If they don't give me an A, their eggs may have an accident on the way to the car... It's worked so far (disregarding the fact that I'm a relatively good student to begin with. I'm sure that has nothing to do with it). So yeah, don't mess with me! I'm the kinda guy you don't wanna cross. I mean, groceries are important...

Touche my good woman, touche. But here's something you didn't realize: ip addresses. The ip addresses for Paris Hilton and Cesar wouldn't match up. Every computer in the known world has a unique ip address. J.K. Rowling's would be all the way over in England. That's on another continent. Mine is in the United States. Clearly, I can't be J.K. Rowling when she's over in England. And, we could match up the times each IP Address was used to determine whether I was hopping on a plane to make this one long elaborate scheme... Which, is preposterous of course... *burns the hundreds of plane ticket stubs lying around college dorm*

So you see, you're argument makes no sense. I just shot a huge gaping bullet into it. And let's be honest, I'm sure Alexander has fantasized about other men. I mean, who wouldn't want to be with Alhazred? (Yes, that is a joke.) And come on, Alexander's voice in KQ6, while dreamy, wasn't really so straight sounding to me. I detected a slight gay-ness to it. It's so soft and gentle, not strong and commanding.

Wow, I just used my own coming out thread to try and analyze how Alexander is secretly gay... That's um... Quite an interesting conversation pattern, I've got to say... And yes, I'd love some sushi. Just, not with puppies, please?

Yeah I won't be trying to run my networks on v6, what a mess.  I'll just stick with the v4 unless something forces me to change.

Yeah, as long as you're behind a router with an IPv6 address and NAT, I'm sure it won't matter what you use.
Of course, that's assuming that there exists NAT for IPv4 to IPv6, but I would assume that if there isn't yet, it will be coming soon.

Honestly, that's a good question. I know a few people who aren't fond of me, but they're just idiots. They can't see how lovable and huggable I am. They have beefs against me for whatever reason. Whatever I did to them, I either don't remember, or should be forgotten because it happened so long ago. One person told me I was horrible person and the like. She kept berating me until I broke down into tears. I came home crying in my dad's arms because of this girl... Flash forward to driver's ed years later, and she's in the car with me. We were talking about friends for whatever reason, and I said that I didn't have many (which is true, really. I keep to myself a lot. The friends I do have are awesome and I'm cool with them, but I don't go out of my way to make new ones) and she said that's probably because I'm mean and arrogant or something like that... I can't remember much of what she was calling me really. But suffice it to say, I don't like her, she doesn't like me. I try to avoid her at all costs. Ironically, her dad is a science teacher at my high school, and he was on the school committee as the faculty representative. I used to film the school committee meetings at my school (a note to anyone looking to do the same: DON'T! They are the most boring thing ever invented by man. I only did it because of the pay and the experience...), and the entire committee was sad to see me leave for college. This girl's father certainly seemed to like me. I have no idea if she ever said anything about me to him, but I never asked. But he liked me, and I suppose that's the most important thing...

People suck. >:( Once you're out of high school and find a group of like-minded people, it all gets so much better. Count in your life the people who love you (including your fellow Questers) and to hell with the rest. :)

Well, to be honest, a lot of my friends right now are from high school. Like my best friend. She and I met in freshman year, about half way through. Now we're seeing movies all the time together. She goes to school only another t line away, so she's not too far from me. Which is great, because she and I share a lot of interests. One of them being King's Quest. It's weird though; she's one of the only girls in the group of girls I hang out with that didn't have a crush on me in high school. I've had like all my female friends practically throw themselves at me, and then I have to give them the unfortunate news. "It's not you, it's me. Honestly, it's me." *slap* "No, I mean, I'm gay." *Hug* "You're gay?! WOOHOO! I GOTS MESELF A GAY FRIEND!" XD ok, so it didn't actually happen like that, but whatever. But a lot of girls apparently like having gay friends. Go figure!

I don't know if it was because I was homeschooled since 4th or 5th grade until this school year or what, but I am loving highschool so far.  I have a bunch of good friends (most of whom I have known for a while before school) and get along with most people (even though there are a lot of people who I don't really know that well, cause I just met a lot of people this year).  I'm pretty sure some people don't like me, but I don't care if they don't bother me.

people say everything gets better like after high school, so I guess either highschool gets worse after freshman/sophomore year or college will be amazing beyond my current comprehension.

or maybe I was just really deprived before, being  homeschooled.

kinda offtopic but whatever.

Actually, I miss high school. Most people do say that High School was the worst four years of their lives. I'm the opposite. High School was among the best four years of my life. I can't attest to college much myself, or the future, as I'm only 19 and only a first semester freshman, but who knows. So far though I miss high school. Granted, I went to a really good high school. I was in a small special ed program (yes, I am a special ed student. Another surprise! I suppose I should enlighten you all now to my ailments... I have ADHD and OCD. YAY ME! XD) and I had amazing friends, with whom I'm still friends with. I made one new friend so far at college, but not much else. I have gotten involved in my school's GSA, which is great, but I miss my high school GSA honestly...

Hmm...I suspect I am just a happy person. ;)

(Although middle school SUCKED. Three years I want back at the end!)

Katie, I haven't met a soul alive yet who said they enjoyed middle school. If I ever do, I'm likely to beat them with a bat. Seriously, middle school was one of the worst experiences of my life.

One of my ex's loved middle school. Weird!

It makes sense. I mean, who isn't a jerk or weird or awkward or shy or figuring out boundaries, etc, when they're at that age span? And all the hormones are just starting to kick in!

there are a few 8th graders that are cool but even they are a little awkward or something. I'm only in 9th grade and I already kinda agree with this. :P

I was  homeschooled for middle school and as much as I disliked that, actual school might not have been any better.

Middle-schoolers are just...ugh. I mean, some can be nice, yes. I'm pretty sure I didn't make anyone's life hell in middle school, I'd be shocked to hear I had somehow. I was not what one would call popular by any stretch.

On the other hand, I learned from it, I'm stronger for it, and I'm a better person for it.
Title: Re: I'm coming out...
Post by: dark-daventry on December 16, 2010, 10:21:50 AM
Yeah I was never one of the popular kids in middle school, and frankly, I'm alright with that. Because being popular is vastly overrated. But I've also been on both ends of the bullying spectrum (yes, I regret to inform you all, I have been a bully in my time. But that was elementary school) and neither end is any fun in the long run. I would get made fun of for any various reason, not strictly limited to any one thing. For example, as strange as it may sound, apparently star trek wasn't the popular science fiction in middle school. During a field trip to cape cod (or as I call it, the field trip to hell.) We saw star wars episode 3. I walked out of the theater saying star trek was better And that it would return. Kids just looked at me funny like I had said something crazy. Admittedly, I kind of did. But in the end, star trek did return. I just wasn't able to see the look on their faces when it did...

And yeah, the whole hormone thing was not fun. I believe seventh grade was when I had first come out, first to my teacher, who was fine with it (speaking of which, I gotta email her and have lunch with her. She and I still keep in touch) and then I came out to my "friends" (or rather, I was the third wheel and they didn't care about me one bit) and they all said I was confused. I'm pretty sure I'm not confused.

Atec,  how do you like high school so far? I loved it, honestly. At least, once I found my current friends I did.

Still, coming out is always a big deal and I'm proud of you for telling us!

And to contribute to the sort of current conversation.... I hated all school, from kindergarten straight through college. Hated. School. Still hate school, as student loans are currently ruining my life. :P

Well, Dark, I say congratulations for having the courage to come out, and in such a public place and manner as well! That takes bravery, and personally, my Gods don't care if you're gay, black, straight or a lesbian, and neither do I. As long as you're a decent human being, that's all that matters at the end of things.

As to myself--I'm a straight guy. I LOVE women, everything about them. I'm an old fashioned romantic and I see things in romantic shades, but I've had horrible luck with women generally. It'd actually probably be better off if I was gay because so many girls see me as this friend they can talk about stuff to than a potential lover.

There's this one girl, I've been IN LOVE with her since 2006. She knows it, but has denied me. We remain friends, but it's very painful to watch her loving men who treat her like crap when I know I'd treat her amazingly. Yet our relationship is a strange one...The first time we ever hung out we made out with each other, for example. Yet she says she loves me only like a brother. Yet the other night--New Years Eve--she invited herself to myself and even willingly slow danced with me.

You'll find someone, perceval. It takes time. As my friend told me in a very poetic manner, love is like a rose bush. To get the flower, you must first brave the thorns. And believe me, I know how painful love can be. I've been hurt by a few guys, and I've watched others get hurt. It's not that much fun. But I know in the end I'll find someone, and I'm sure you will too. It just takes time and patience.

Don't waste your time on someone who you're "IN LOVE" with, yet they're with someone that "I'm so much better!  I'd treat her better!"

I spent years pining over a girl like that.  Always her support, always there.  She still ran after dirt-bag dudes.  I waited, like a fool.  I finally let it go.... and subsequently met the girl who became my wife later.

It just isn't right to cuckold yourself like that, and wonder WHY she's with dirtbags.  Some girls are just broken and there's NO FIXING IT.

lol I know how that goes. In middle school and high school, kids are still growing up, and sometimes they don't grow up too well. I've met plenty of people my own age who aren't too fond of gays, or as they like to call me, "those q**** freaks" or some other slur. Hey, what do you know, the forum has a gay filter! I didn't know it filtered words like that! Yippee! Now I don't have to add things to the filter myself! (not that i could anyway... that's an admin ability...) but in any event, take some solace in the following: those idiots won't amount to much. Right now, they may be king. But later on in life? They'll realize that people like you are the future, and that you were right all along.

And I'd have to agree with blackthorne here. I once had a huge crush on a kid I met at camp years ago, and after that summer ended, my crush continued. For three years I was hung up on him. Without contact. Finally, I got Facebook, and we friended each other. Turns out, he was straight. But even after I found out he was straight, I still wanted to see something in him. I later realized it was a lost cause and I should just give up. I told him how I felt about him and left it at that. It was a relief telling him, but he didn't share the same feelings for me. He reiterated that he was straight. So the moral of the story kids is don't get hung up over anyone. It will only end badly. If you're meant to be, you'll find your way back to them in time. I may not be entirely religious, but I do believe in fate and destiny, and of course in true love. But for now? It's best to move on. If she truly likes you, she'll find her way back to you. If not, you'll know it wasn't meant to be.

I guess it's a lesson for everyone though. I'm still hung up on a crush I've had for 15 years. I want to tell him, but I don't want to ruin the friendship we have T.T

15 years? That's.... Wow. I have to give you props for holding on for that long. My advice? Tell him how you feel, and mention you don't want to ruin the friendship you have, but you feel he has a right to know. But then again, I'm no expert in these matters, and I'm only 19.

Oh dear me. I hate to sound cynical and harsh, but...if it's been fifteen years, then there are two things I cannot help but observe.

1) If it hasn't happened by now, it's not going to. Sorry.
2) He should be able to handle you telling him you have feelings for him.

And like others have, I would recommend moving on from the girl you've got that crush on, Perceval. You can't change her--only she can. And if she isn't responding to the efforts and signs you've tried to put out there, she won't suddenly start. Be her friend, but look elsewhere for a date.

LOL! Well, shucks, thanks. :)

I've got experience with good relationships and bad ones, long-standing crushes (on both sides), and I've seen my friends go through various ringers, so yeah, I guess I've got some experience working for me. Also, I enjoy reading the Love Letters (http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/relationships/blog/) column from our local paper's website--Meredith there gives out great advice most of the time! (Plus both the letters and her replies are fun to read.)

I do hope that's cry in a good way...

I'll admit that I have days where I don't feel so stellar, but I also have days where I'm reminded of how great all my friends are. Seriously, my friends are awesome. You guys too. You're there for me when I need you, and I'm around for you in return. I don't know who could possibly not like me... But then again I know plenty of people that do for stupid reasons. In fact, the last guy I went out with came up with a whole list of all my faults. Apparently, I swear too much (Ok, so that one's actually true... I have a very dirty mouth. I should probably use some Orbit XD But seriously, I do swear a lot, I admit, and I won't ever apologize for it either. I don't believe in bad language. We as a species created the english language and have positive and negative meaning to all the words therein. It's our own fault "bad words" exist. But I'll leave my philosophy on language for another time...). I also apparently have really chapped lips. I'm Irish. My skin ain't so great, big whoop. He legit made a numbered list. I was appalled. And a little upset at the time. But I got over him really quickly. Like within two months.

I agree.  Here's my thing... I think language is only actually "foul" if it's taken that way (or maybe if it's intended to be taken that way)

Everyone cusses at my age, and basically no one cares.  If I'm not offending anyone, I will cuss.  Most of the words don't really mean anything.  they magically have come to mean whatever they mean in an "offensive way".  when you realise what the words actually mean, it's pretty stupid to care about cussing.

the problem is that not everyone thinks like that, so you can still offend people.
whatever.  thats kinda off topic.

Swearing IRL is different to online. It's more offensive in words. I try not to swear online unless I mean it. IT's SO easy to miss interpret without emotion to back it up.

Here's my take. Yes, words are only taboo or bad because we assign them meaning. BUT--we have still assigned them that meaning. And someone knows when they use one of those words what it is they're saying and what it means to the person they are saying it to.

I don't swear too much--I'll do it, and sometimes it's jokingly done, but for the most part, I don't do it a lot. So when I really start, you know damn well I mean it and I am not happy.

It counts even more so how we present ourselves online, I think. It's so easy to get carried away and let yourself rant and rave in a way you would *never* do in real life, because there's no immediate consequence to doing so, and there's no face to the person you're ranting at. Because it's so easy to forget these other people ARE people, I think it's even more important to choose my words carefully online. How you compose yourself when there are no consequences to what you say and do will in return say a lot about who you are.

That's a very valid point Katie. I do know the time and the place to swear, so I do limit myself at times. Like when I'm interacting with customers. Not a good idea to swear. I've witnessed co-workers getting fired for mouthing off in the parking lot. There are also a few words I prefer not to say because they were conceived as a derogatory term from the beginning, particularly the N word. I hate that word. And of course the anti-gay words I don't much care for, but for some reason, I have some tolerance for it, so long as the person saying it is fine with gays. My manager at GameStop uses anti-gay words, but then apologizes two seconds later. He knows I'm gay, and he's fine with it. But he warned me upfront he uses anti-gay words a lot. As long as the person using the words doesn't mean any offense by them, I'm fine with it. As for other words, like the F, the SH word and so on and so forth... Well, I have a little problem with them. In the sense that I love them... XD But I respect boundaries. But do you wanna know something? I was mainly swearing in MY car when this kid was with me. It's my car and I can do what I want in MY car. He doesn't have a right to complain about what goes on in my car.

That's so funny!  I can't imagine you swearing a lot.  It's a crack up to find out things like that about your online friends. XD

I actually swear too.  Not a TON, like my brother does (I don't hardly ever say the F word and most DEFINITELY don't say the C word :X), but I get
"pissed" and things that surprise me are "holy sh*t" sometimes, and I "da*n things to hell" every now and then.  Oh, and when a girl acts like a "b*tch" I say so, just like when a guy is a "d**k" or an "a**hole."
There is just so much more emphasis with a swear word!

I try to limit my swearing online, though.  I perceive people who use a ton of foul language online to be immature, lame, and pretty much just an ignorant person in general.

Hence why I don't use it online. I've run into many an immature person online who use swears in a bad context. I'll admit, my facebook is full of fowl language, but when it comes to interacting on forums or other online spaces, I do try to limit myself. But my facebook is my personal online home, which is why I swear on it. But yeah, I should probably get some orbit to clean my mouth out... I've even sworn in front of my teachers. I don't usually swear online,  on forums meant for actual discussion at least.  (I do sometimes, but I try not to because it really does make it sound unintelligent)

in real life, I don't care what anyone says to me really.  I don't take things too seriously in general, so if someone cusses me out I will probably just laugh and cuss back at them.  The few  things I have a problem with saying  are the n word  (well... the n***** word.  not nigga as used by black people and in rap music.  there IS a difference, because people have assigned the meaning differently)  The only time I would say that is maybe   to another white person jokingly when everyone is cool with it.  I wouldn't say the c word either, even if a   girl is cool with it.  in my opinion, thats just going too far.

I'll be honest: I have used the C word, but only if the person truly deserves it. So I've used it like twice in my whole life. But I do try to steer clear of that word as best as I can. But when it comes to verbal interaction, I'm generally pretty open about language. I just love to swear... And if you're really mad at someone, the F word really just makes you feel better sometimes...

Wow, my thread went from me being gay to swearing... We have one interesting thought process, don't we?

I'm a little confused...how is the C word more offensive than the F word? I find them equally as bad...

Well, I think it's a matter of perspective. I personally don't find the F word all that bad, but that's probably because of a few things. One being my age. Having just graduated high school and now in college, a lot of people around me swear, including teachers. Two is my geographical location. Being in New England, I'm surrounded by more liberal people than you'd believe. A lot of people here, including a lot of teachers I've had and even my friend's parents, really don't care and raise their kids accordingly. New England is pretty accepting of just about anything really, and that's why I love it. I'm even thinking of joining organized religion in the form of Unitarian Universalism. They're mentality? Believe whatever you want. Which is my mentality, to a degree.

I guess...to me, a cuss word is a cuss word. I just don't see a rationale for one being any worse than another.
Title: Re: I'm coming out...
Post by: Damar on January 03, 2011, 08:57:01 PM
I think that the f-word is used a lot more often, so it's not seen as being as offensive as it was in the past, though its still a swear.  The c-word isn't really in circulation all that much comparatively, so it retains its shock value.  Plus it's a word that is specifically degrading to women, which makes it akin to a racial slur, except with gender instead of ethnicity.  So I think that's also what makes it worse.  Lack of circulation in casual conversation plus being a slur plus a dash of general nastiness equals a completely socially unacceptable word.

Again, it's a matter of perspective and upbringing and a whole bunch of other factors. For what it's worth, I respect and understand your position. I'm just a very liberal person who lives in new england with very accepting parents.

Makes sense; like I said, I don't put different levels of classification on cuss words, but for those who do, that logic seems pretty sound.

I hate euphemisms and bowdlerizations.  It's an insult to language and intelligence.  Me?   I simply prefer not to use the offending words rather than replace them.  That's just childish and really shows no restraint.  Finding ways around foul language requires some thought and verbal dexterity.

I don't usually swear online.... in real life I will say almost any swear (except for a particularly offensive six letter f-word and a particularly offensive six letter n-word and a particularly offensive four letter c-word) for almost any reason. I'm like a sailor. Or a trucker. Or something else (And, yes, I've been known to say the 3 letter version of that f-word because for some reason, I don't find that offensive... I'm messed up, I know.)

Then there's when I drive.
You have to understand. I have road rage. To the point where I will never be allowed to own a gun. Serious, awful, terrible road rage. When I drive there are no words that are off-limits. None at all. It's disgusting.

However, even when I'm driving, I will not insert a swear into the middle of another word unless it's "abso-effing-lutely" or "un-effing-believable". I know some people who are like, "syllable break? Must insert swear!" and I really just want to punch them in the face every time they do it.

I do that sometimes in really obscure out of nowhere times, mainly just to make fun of the people who do it alot.

I also add ass to the end of stuff for emphasis occasionally, and then I usually laugh cause it sounds stupid.

I think his suit looks fine, but then again, I never read the comics or saw much of the TV show. But do keep in mind that this is a reboot. As such, things will change...

They don't need to change the suit for a reboot. Even Stan Lee said he never altered the Spider-Man costume once in the comics because it was so good.

The really silly thing about it is that according to the comics (and the first set of movies), Peter Parker was supposed to have MADE the costume from scratch.  Now I ask you, does that look like something a teenage kid could just MAKE??  ;)

Adam Garfield doesn't do it for me. Dunno why though, he really should.

Matt Dallas, on the other hand, does.

As for Jersey Shore... I hate them all. With fury. And passion. (Actually, Vinnie doesn't seem too bad from the little bit of the show I've seen.)
But I would absolutely bring any one of those guys home with me if I saw them in a bar and they were willing. :P
Yes, I know that makes me the sluttiest person you know. My friends all tell me that too. I'm cool with that.

There's lot of guys on television who drive me totally wild, but none like Matthew Bomer of White Collar who is without a doubt the most gorgeous guy on television. I'll post two pictures, one so you get the bod, the other so you get the eyyyyyyes.

The bod.

The eyyyyyyes.

Another perk of Matthew Bomer is that he is bonafied out-of-the-closet gay!
The reason you never hear about it? His longtime partner is Simon Halls -- the CEO of a major publicity firm. He's totally tabloid-untouchable. (If he ends up in the tabloids, ever, it means they broke up and I'm flying out to L.A. the millisecond I see it. :P)

I've never thought he was stellar, to be honest. Attractive, sure. I can't judge you for being in love with him. (Well, I could but I won't.) But, just never did it for me.

As for Stevie Nicks.... what is with that hair?? It's a grainy black and white photo and I can STILL see the split ends. I know she's going for a textured look but get it together.

:o OMG You might have some competition on that flight, Cray! I think you and I are going to have to duke it out or something. And yes, Matt Dallas is very good looking. It's another reason why Kyle XY is among my favorite shows ever. The main actor is hot, the plot is actually really good, and the acting isn't bad either. Oh, and one of the characters from season's 2 and 3 has two moms. So yeah... Why ABC family ever cancelled the show I don't know. But I know that a revolt is necessary.

Actually, I'm a little turned off by femmie guys. I prefer more "manly" type guys. But I despise Indiana Jones. Why? Because I was about five when my dad was watching Temple of Doom, and I casually walked into the room at the exact wrong moment. That moment being the heart getting ripped from a guys body. Since that day I have sworn to never see Indiana Jones, and I have been successful thus far. I intend to continue on that path...

You poor poor misguided individual. That is probably the single worst Indy movie to base your likingness of Indiana Jones movies. The other 3 are NOTHING like it. And that is probably the single harshest scene in that whole movie to boot.

You really did walk in at the wrong moment. The other movies are ACE and nothing like that at all. It's not a horrific series. It's a suspenseful, action-packed, adventure series!

Hey guys, let's get off the Indiana Jones talk, unless we're discussing how hot (or not hot) Harrison Ford is. I'm thinking I should create a special thread meant to simply oggle hot guys...

And that is probably the single harshest scene in that whole movie to boot.

Harshest in the whole series by far, actually.  So harsh it was cut out of the European releases of the film.  So harsh it single-handedly spawned the creation of the PG-13 rating for movies.

But yeah, wow.  What a terrible reason to miss out on what is the standout best and most historically significant series of adventure movies to date.  Raiders of the Lost Ark alone is a piece of cinema history that should be required viewing for every living individual that considers himself a fan of film or just entertainment in general.

Worthy of the Picard facepalm mosaic.  ;)

PS:  Temple of Doom rules.  Best in series, behind Raiders.  And it's precisely the differences from the formulaic other three that make it so good.  ;)

Sad to say, we did. I guess Meet the Mods wasn't all that popular... It was my idea too XD

But I have merged my coming out thread with this one so it can be used as my own personal thread. If anyone's wondering, dark-daventry's super awesome ridiculously off topic thread (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=9889.0) is not my own personal thread, but a home for all manner of off-topic discussion. As such, I am now using my Meet the Mods thread for on topic discussion of anything relating to me. That can include discussion of hot guys, my interests, or anything else that pertains to me. Just, please do not stray too far from the topic at hand. For example, if we start talking about how hot a certain actor is, I don't want to start going into a tangent on their respective movies/tv shows/whatever, unless it's relevant (for example, John Doe was particularly hot in Episode X of TV-Series Z).

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where I am in life at this point: You may have noticed that I've been a bit sparse lately on the forums (I have 31 reply notifications in my inbox...). I'd like to explain why that is: I have been busy sorting out my education, but I'm getting closer to having everything all sorted out. The programming class that I've mentioned I was failing I am no longer enrolled in; I have withdrawn from it to spare my GPA the hit and not give me any more stress than I have already. Doing so means that I will have more time to study for my other classes. In addition, I have decided that Web Design is no longer my forte; I am switching majors and/or schools. The two majors I am looking at are Digital Video Production or Writing. I am leaning very heavily towards writing. I feel that I am starting to get everything all worked out, but I still have more to go. Because of my focus on my education right now, my presence on the forums is likely going to continue to be sparse. Rest assured, I am still working for Phoenix Online Studios (albeit more behind the scenes right now), and intend to continue working for them, but as we all know, my education comes first and foremost. So I hope everyone is happy to see me back for the moment. My school ends in April, at which point I'm going to be stress-free and working my butt off for Phoenix. So, thanks for reading my little update. Feel free to comment if you like. I'd love to hear from everyone again!

Yeah - it's hard to know what you really want to do. A lot of college can be trying things, deciding you don't like them, and moving on.

I made the mistake of choosing web design because I dabbled in having my own website years ago, which has since been shut down. I haven't practiced my writing much lately, which I actually kind of regret. I've done the FW for TSL, which really is a lot of fun. It's because of all the fun I have writing the FW and other various creative things that I plan to give writing a try as a major. The problem is that in order to do so, I'd have to switch schools. I attend one of the AI schools, which focus mainly on media arts stuff. The only writing classes they have are part of Gen Ed and not part of any specific major. So now I have to do the arduous process of applying for college all over again. I didn't enjoy the first time around, and the chances of me enjoying the second time around aren't too likely. I'm very glad everyone is supportive of me here. I'm hoping to have my education all sorted out soon. I'll try to keep everyone updated on that as time goes on.

Glad to hear you're sorting things out and figuring out what you want to do, Chris. My only suggestion as far as taking writing/English as a major is that if you can add in classes or work experience that's more marketable for yourself, do so! English is great and very versatile...but it's lack of specificity can be trying when it comes to job hunting time after college.

Well, writing for Phoenix is great work experience! I love the FW, and I'm waiting on helping to write the scripts for future games. I've spoken to you about that before, so we'll see where that goes. I have to start looking at what schools I want to go to and what areas of English I want to try. Any suggestions for what all of you think may be my strong suit? English is very versatile. There are many facets I could choose, I just can't seem to settle on one. I've been thinking of scriptwriting, but I have little experience in that area; I have more experience with creative writing, but I am very open to expanding my horizons on the writing front.

Everyone, I have an update.

As some may be aware, I am nearing the end of my semester very soon, and as such, I must start focusing on my education some more. As such, I am taking a leave of absence for about three weeks to focus on my studies. I am likely to still be on the forums intermittently, but my education is my main priority until the end of April. Once April is over, I am free until September. I am letting all of you know in case you don't see me around at all. My presence here may not change at all, or it may change significantly. I can't say. But if my presence does decrease, my education is to blame. I wish everyone the best. I will return in full force in late April. Until that time, I will be studying and catching up in my classes.

A ladder-less pool, huh?  I was thinking more like "Was he looking through a telescope and was abducted by aliens?  ZOMG, he'll come back pregnant with a green baby!" ;)

Well, like you said, your education takes priority, so be great!  In the meantime, we'll be back here waiting for you. :)

Yes (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=9889.msg321270#msg321270).
Have fun, DD! If you leave for a while, we'll miss you. If you don't, then we won't. :P

OH MAN I LOVED GETTING ABDUCTED! I kept trying to make it happen, yet I never could. Then, when I didn't want it to, it did! The results were hilarious, to say the least!

Thanks, Enchantermon. It's good to know I'll be missed if I do leave for a bit. It all depends on what time I have between studying and classes.

That we do, my friend. Speaking of Digimon, I seriously need to catch up with Digimon Xros Wars. The last time I checked, I was somewhere between episodes 7-10...

Yeah, you definitely need to catch up. It's still as good as ever, imo. :)

I imagine; it was amazing where I had last left it, and I've been meaning to start watching it again; unfortunately, college got in the way, as it always does.

UPDATE: I have now officially finished with school until September. That means you're likely to be seeing more of me in the future. It also means that a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I'm going to be spending the summer going through my various options for a new school, and I'll keep everyone informed of my progress.

Oh, and Enchantermon; I resumed a bit on Digimon Xros Wars. I'm only on episode 8 so far, but by episode 8, a LOT of stuff happens. I'm not ready to call it better than Tamers yet, but that could very easily change by the time I finish the series. It's at least a very, very, close second favorite for me!

I'm behind too; I just finished watching Episode 27. I'm trying to pace myself so I don't completely catch up and then get impatient waiting for the next episode...it's hard, lol.

Oh I understand that. I'm so far behind at this point I don't think it matters lol. But so far, it's pretty frakking amazing!

HELLO WORLD! I'm back! Sorry for the long absence, but lots of things have been happening lately. For one, I've been working crazy shifts at my two (TWO!) part-time jobs, and last week I attended E3! And let me tell you, it was a blast! More information about my time there will be forthcoming soon. But, after a long absence, I'm back, and as long as life doesn't get in the way again, I plan on sticking around for a little while! Did you guys miss me at all? Anyone?
