Real Name: Weldon Hathaway – I gave up anonymity pretty quickly after joining Phoenix Online Studios, it just wouldn't be practical to try and keep track of where I was known and where I was still unknown.
Current location: Utah. From here originally and ended up back here after spending a while living in Alaska and then California.
Stuff I like:
TV Shows:
I'm sort of enjoying The Event but haven't really decided just yet whether it's going to be good in the long run or not. Like Heroes was great in its first season but went horribly downhill later on so we'll see.
NCIS and NCIS:LA – I love both of these, something about them that works better for me than other crime dramas ever did. I'll watch an occasional CSI or Law and Order, but I follow NCIS almost religiously.
Stargate Universe – Again, something about this one that I really like that I didn't get from the earlier Stargate series.
Battlestar Galactica – I've never actually watched this before because I always wanted to see it all from the beginning and juts discovered that the entire series is available online via Netflix. I've seen the first two episodes so far.
Football – The only sport I can stand to watch on TV, which is funny because I don't actually ever play football. I play basketball, racquetball, tennis, and baseball, but I can't stand to watch any of them on TV. But I love football season.
Food:
Pizza, pasta, cookies. Definitely cookies. Chocolate chip ones. Or day-old homemade brownies. Yum.
Movies:
I don't have time to get out to the movies much, but I recently saw Dinner for Schmucks (hilarious) and It's Kind of a Funny Story (I loved this one). I want to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader when it comes out, also Due Date looks pretty funny.
Video Games:
I most recently played Kirby's Epic Yarn and Metroid: Other M. Interestingly enough, Epic Yarn took me longer than Other M did. I liked Epic Yarn quite a bit and even my 5-year-old can beat some of the levels all by herself. Other M was enjoyable, but much too short in my opinion – beat it in 6 hours. I have Fallout: New Vegas but haven't had a chance to start playing it yet.

Crunchy onions in my food.
Background:
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, help a bunch of people with tax returns every spring, and my main current job is as a high school math teacher. I'm also currently working on getting a Master's Degree in Education. I always thought it would be cool to work in the video game industry in some way but didn't really think it was realistic. I guess sometimes things just work out if you're ready to take the opportunity when it comes along. Now I'm just learning how to balance all this gaming stuff with everything else I have going on and so far it's going pretty well. I'd like to have less other stuff going on so I could focus more on studying game programming, but hopefully I'll get better at that eventually.
I've been married for almost 7 years, we have two daughters (one is 5 and the other is 3) and a son due to be born on January 16th. Three is plenty for us, and I'm quite happy to have a little boy coming along to help save me from all these girls (oh didn't I mention that the school where I teach is part of a teen treatment program for girls only?? Yeah, ALL 70 of my students are teenage girls).
King's Quest: My first memory of King's Quest is when I was 7 and thinking that Graham was obviously the biggest moron ever because I very clearly told him to "push rock" and he very clearly pulled it, else it would not have smashed him. To this day whenever I have a real rock that needs moving I always briefly wonder whether it could fall on me during the attempt It absolutely rocked my world when my uncle came over and showed me that if I had Graham stand on the other side of the rock he'd be just fine when he pushed it. I was hooked from that second. I couldn't even believe how incredible the world was when I saw a copy of KQ2 on a store shelf. I did so may extra chores around the house for my parents to scrap and save enough to buy it. KQ3 didn't work on our home computer, so I made special arrangements with my 5th grade teacher so I could play it on one of the classroom computers whenever I was all caught up on everything else. And so it continued until I find myself now working on TSL and thinking my life seems pretty unreal these days.

Battlestar!! So exciting. Oh back in the early days...when things were so bright and happy, comparatively speaking. Sniff.
Obviously I too love BSG, and I'm excited you're watching it. I was Starbuck for Halloween once, actually. :)
I couldn't get into SGU, though. Tried, and I haven't really watched the other SG shows, but that one seemed interesting....and then just felt like SG was trying to be BSG and I'd rather just watch BSG. (Or, now, Caprica!)

Ya that's pretty much it, not many things bug me. Oh not being able to sleep is really annoying too.

I used to be super anti-onion, of any kind. I've recently started coming around on having them in things, like sauces, pizzas, etc, thanks to my boyfriend's long-abiding deep love for them. :) But I'm not about to dig into my mom's onion casserole side dish at family dinners, either!
I used to cook Indian food a lot. They use LOTS of onions (and ginger and garlic). !!!
I'm still very much a fledgling in the cooking department, but I hope to build up to having the nerve to try cooking Indian someday!

No that actually brings up a good point - I do like Indian food, and I am actually okay with things like Gumbo, Jambalaya, etc. that are supposed to have onions and other spices and things in them, it's more like having cruncy onions in something like stew or spaghetti sauce that throws me off I suppose.
At least with Indian food, by the time it's all cooked together, it's nearly imposible (for me, at least) to pick out individual flavors. Oh - and another thing: if you're planning on cooking Indian food - particularly from the book below - you need lots of patience. On average, it would take me ~4 hours to make a main dish. A couple of those hours were just simmering and stirring occasionally, though.
There are other books for "quick" cooking.

Hmmm... Weldon is in the right place, but I'm not sure about the other three. I'm pretty sure Indian cooking should be higher.
