Just have to say that everything I've been playing so far is fantastic. I'm especially intrigued by the introduction sequence which raises a lot of questions about what is to come in future episodes. Telltale does not disappoint once again.

Yeah I was having some trouble with the setup just as others seem to be, but I managed to get it running. I've taken my first trip in time, going to play again tomorrow, when my mind is fresh, though the puzzles have been straightforward so far.

Just finished it tonight. A great game! A great story! Unfortunately, the story is one of the only things that are superb. It's WAAAAAY too short and easy! I know people complain about the length and difficulty of TTG episodes and I always scoffed them, but this time it was just too far. It's SO easy that I was literally left saying to myself "That's it?". The new built in "ask-for-a-hint" system doesn't help that either. I seriously believe this has got to be the shortest and easiest Telltale episode ever made. Hopefully future episodes are better.

But overall, a fantastic experience. So much mystery and intrigue groundwork laid from the very start! And a great cliffhanger with a cool preview of the next episode! It's gonna be a great story. Hopefully the gameplay becomes equally as good.

Looking forward to it! :D But I think I'm going to try and wait for all the episodes to be out. But once they are, definitely getting them!

Interesting.  Maybe I'll hold out on it til it starts to improve with the next few episodes.

Ha...and don't worry, I think if anyone is okay with a game whose first episode is way too easy and light on puzzles, it'll be the TSL groupies.  ;)

Haha, indeed Lamb--I was just going to say, considering we had a short and easy first episode, I'm willing to give it some leniency there. :)

I just went to the TTG site and lol'ed. Picture attached.

I'm excited for this game, but I'm a little disappointed because I got in on a promotion a little while back during which TTG was giving away Episode 1 of Back to the Future for free, but I got an e-mail a little while ago saying that the free episode won't be available until February. :/ I'm not quite sure how that works.....

Actually, somebody managed to get the first episode with the free code ahead of time. Give it a shot.

I wonder how. The purchase and serial number are shown on my account, but there's no download link.

EDIT: Never mind, I found a download link in the forum. In about an hour, we'll see if it still works.
In the meantime, I'll sit here and shake my head at the people in TTG's forum. There are angry members there complaining about the free episode being a "scam" and wailing about how they're never going to buy anything from TTG again because they've been ripped off. Seriously. This extra waiting is pretty lame, granted, but it's far from being a scam.

LOL, wait, what? They're complaining about a free game?

They sure are. It boggles the mind. Like I said, I can understand being a little upset at the episode being released in December and free players not being able to get it until February, but some are taking it way too far. I was upset, but it was more of a "This is kinda dumb but I'll just wait a little longer and move on with my life now" upset.

Ohh...yeah, I read a bit on their forums. I get it now, and I can see why people would be upset given the not-announced 'free but not quite yet' aspect of it. A scam, no. Annoying, yes.

It was announced in an e-mail, actually, though that was only two days before release.

I just finished the first ep right now. I'm sorry it had to end. The action sequences were awesome. I liked the idea of what's going to happen on the next ep. Back to the Future 2 was always my favourite for that reason. I am hoping the next ep will be a little less contained, though. Here's to February for TSL and BttF .

Didn't work. I signed into my account through the launcher and it said that I didn't own the episode. Oh well; February isn't that far away, and at least now it'll be installed and ready to play when they unlock it.

I don't think the episode was too short... I mean if it was compared to TSL-episode one, this game is almost a movie unto itself. Its only really slightly shorter than most of the Telltale games. The episode story is pretty well self contained, with a well done BTTF-style cliffhanger.

I think its about as long as first episode of Wallace and Gromit (which might have actually been shorter).

Also the puzzles, they might be easier, but that might be because they actually seem pretty logical (and more realistic). I didn't have any feeling of any obtuse random objects used in a way that makes no sense. No overly complicated rube goldberg type situations. They seemed to fit the kind of puzzle solving Marty McFly would actually do if he was put into those situations, as he did in the movies. Its very much in character to the movies.

Now if someone wants complicated, and difficulty they should make a MacGyver themed series ;). That would be kickass. Hmm even an A-team might make for an interesting adventure game (having to construct vehicles from whatever is lieing around to blow things up). Allow for some interesting puzzle followed by action sequences.

Finally got around to finishing the first episode. It did seem kind of short, and the puzzles are definitely pretty easy. But I will say that it certainly captured the feel of a Back to the Future movie. Lots of the scenes and situations are obvious re-takes on things that happened in the movies. Ordinarily, this would make it feel uninspired, but the movies themselves did the exact same thing, so it didn't feel out of place.
Anyway, I'll certainly pick up the rest of the season when I have the money to spare. Even if the puzzles don't get any better, the story at least is interesting enough.

How in the world did you only buy one episode? Lately Telltale has only been allowing you to buy a whole season at a time.

Also, the first couple episodes (or 1 and a half) are a lot like the movies but that's only to reel you in. Everything is about to change midway through episode 2 and onward into brand new territory.

The first one is free now so you can get just that one by itself.

Really? I didn't know that.
But anyway, I got it for free with the promotion at the beginning of the year (where the ones who got it free didn't get to play until a month or so after it was released to paying customers).

I figured that this is as good a place to put this as any: apparently, Michael J. Fox will be voicing two characters in the final episode of Back to the Future! There's a clip of one of those characters in the new video they just released (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEXH-XMmChk) (minor spoilers for the other four episodes).

It's great news. Loved the preview video. Say what you will about the gameplay of the games the story-line of these episodes and my eagerness to see what happens next is what keeps bringing me back.
