Computers and games occupied almost the central place in my life. Moreover, I certainly played all sorts of arcades and shooting games like my other friends in those years. However, it was more out of curiosity. I don't have much time for games right now. However, I play Minecraft on weekends. The most important thing is to find a safe Minecraft server to play with. Btw, this genre of the game absorbed me completely. I have always been fascinated by story-driven and adventure games. I was always interested in opening doors, climbing caves, and diving into wells.

I totally agree with you I think it has to do with something they're not saying or not allowed to say and it makes sense that due to Microsoft buying Activision which owns the king's quest series and rights that they may want to have a new game with today's technology and today's abilities to make a really good RPG hopefully like a remake of Roberta Williams's amazing productions back in her time I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they ever say anything.

I wonder if there's any possibility that the staff members are under NDAs or something, and thus can't really say anything.  Mostly I'm considering this due to the recent interest with King's Quest, not only from the 2015 game by The Odd Gentlemen, but also the hint from Microsoft that they'd possibly like to see something done with the franchise.

The only other thing that makes any sense to me is that they don't want to show progress with episode 5 until they're absolutely certain that they can see it through to completion.  That's more or less what was said in the last video update at the end of 2017 (which I know was before the news post in 2019 promising more updates, but still).

Admittedly, I didn't enjoy TSL too much when I played it some years back (although I really should play it again to see if my opinion has changed), but I'd still like to see the project completed, especially when it's this close to the end.

Shalkar, we know you're impatiently waiting on Episode 5. I don't think you realize how much effort is required for the few people on the team (who all have actual jobs so they can have nice things like food, shelter, and clothing). Good help is hard to find, especially for free.

So since you are a moderator, do you have an idea when there will be a release update? What about the news on the front page? That hasn't been updated since Janurary 2019 right?

They said that the project's sleeping but not cancelled yet. That's probably all the update we're going to get the next few years lol, but I hope not.

Shalkar, we know you're impatiently waiting on Episode 5. I don't think you realize how much effort is required for the few people on the team (who all have actual jobs so they can have nice things like food, shelter, and clothing). Good help is hard to find, especially for free.

Note that I'm not making any claims about if/when Episode 5 will be released, though I hope it will. I've played through what has been developed so far, and I like what I've seen. It needs a LOT of work still, though.

A statement that vague isn't proof that anything is actually being done--or not being done, as the case may be. Forgive my cynicism, but I'll believe the results when I see them.

If it was an actual recent forum post, from someone like Katie, I'd be more inclined to believe it.  (Though that would be greatly overshadowed by my joy in knowing that she was still around.)  A supposed "quote" from "one of the directors" though, isn't enough to convince me.

I totally get it.

By the way Snabbott, good to see you again after all these years. Thank you for the response.
