Here's a synopsis from an interview Cesar and Say did with GameSpy:

The game starts during a celebration in the Green Isles that go horribly wrong when a dark enchantment befalls the land. From there, King Graham embarks on a journey to reverse the spell, but as he does, he starts finding out that there's much more going on than what meets the eye. The story eventually tells the tale of two societies -- the Black Cloak Society and the Silver Cloak Society -- that were at war more than a thousand years ago. At that time, a prophecy was uttered. This prophecy is linked to the Daventry family and somehow explains all the events that have taken place during each King's Quest game.

In the first part of the game, "Shadows", you play as Graham. In the second part, "The Two That Are One", you play as Alexander and Rosella. In the final part, "Eternities", you play as all three characters.
Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes...

I'd imagine it's much like every other King's Quest game...it starts out with a major problem facing the protagonists, then complications occur, everything begins to fall apart, and our heroes are forced to save the day once again by overcoming the odds.
"And still we all are so hopeful,
So righteous in our blood.
It looks so tarnished in our eyes,
Yet so afraid of...

Fading into nothing,
Fading into nothing.
Just a trace of light
That burns within our thoughts... "

That's a very abstract way of looking at the entire game (i.e. all three parts), but yes that's fairly accurate. 8)

The game sounds very interesting! I can't wait until it comes out! (Or until beta-testing comes around...  ;D XD) I can only imagine the easter eggs you guys are going to put in the game... XD

This just in! The entire plot of TSL has been released!

Madame Mushka and Shadrack were happily married...

...until that fateful day when that dashing man came into her wagon.

Introducing

TSL: The Silver Lining
   OR
Trumping Shadrack's Love!

Way back in KQV when Madame Mushka first met King Graham, she adored him so much that she gave him an amulet that Shadrack had given her on their 17th (they're older than they look!) wedding aniversary. Thinking it merely a useful item that would help him on his adventures, Graham took it, later causing the imminent demise of one of Shadrack's best henchmen, Mordack. When three of his most promonent villians (Manannan, Mordack, and Alhazred) had been destroyed or removed, and his wife's amulet given to a stranger, Shadrack's temper finally blew, throwing him into some fierce fights with Madame Mushka, blaming her for the loss of his men. Arguing that all she did was give him a trinket that saved him from a random hag, Mushka retaliated and is threatining to divorce him! In his anger, Shadrack swears to kill Graham and his family for breaking up his marriage.

Part 1: Shadows
You discover who Shadrack is, and learn all the dark secrets haunting Shadrack's marriage.

Part 2: The Two that are One
You travel back in time to when Shadrack and Madame Mushka were lovers and go to their wedding, where young Valanice is the maid of honour, instead of Hagatha (who thought herself the most beautiful person who ever lived).
If you take a close look at the best man, you'll notice that its none other than... CÉSAR! :o
Furious that she wasn't chosen, Hagatha locks Valanice up in the tower.

Part 3: Eternities
You now have to make a choice: save a marriage (and as a result, fate the world to destruction) by recanting your adventures, or rid yourself of Shadrack forever, causing Madame Mushka to see her errors too late, and wander the countryside forever in misery?
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king
