What you're about to hear is probably one of the most pathetic things ever... I was trying to clear out some space on my computer and I accidently deleted my sound driver and I can't find the CD for it.  I now, obviously, have absolutely no sound whatsoever and if I try to open an MP3 file, it says it can't.  Does anyone know where I could get a decent driver for free download off the internet?

You could always contact the manufacturer and get a replacement sound card cd if you need it to reinstall your sound card.  Also, if you are using XP you can roll back your computer before you deleted the sound driver.

I've heard about that rolling back thing but have no idea how to do it.  I do have an XP; how does that work?

Sure, all you have to do is press start and go to help and support and type in system restore.  One of the answers is to run the system restore wizard which allows you to bring up earlier times that XP has backed up your system.  Hopefully, you still have a point that you can go back to before you removed you sound card driver information.  In addition, if you go to the control panel and under system then the system restore tab you can choose to allocate how much hard drive space that you want for backing up your system.  Finally, you can use the help and support to create a save point for your system if you are going to do something potentially dangerous in the future and want to have a safe point before doing the action.  Feel free to reply if you still have problems.

System Restore is also good for getting rid of Genuine Advantage if you accidently downloaded it. :P
