Quote from: Say on September 18, 2007, 01:17:32 PMThe story as goes it's that in 2002 it was a blue/purple/white website, it was rather large too.
I loved that website! !!! I'm posting a somewhat restored pictured of the site. (I have a much better picture, but it's 2.73 MB, and the forum won't allow that. :P)

OMG! I REMEMBER THAT WEBSITE! XD I've been here THAT long?! I wasn't a member of the forum then, I know that much, but I definitely remember that website! I did like the way the number of the games were layed out above the page...

And yes, to get back on topic: APPLY! Even if you think you have no chance, it never hurts to apply. You're not losing anything. As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. You can't possibly know if you won't get picked if you don't put yourself out there and try. It all pays off in the end!

I have a link to an archive of that site bookmarked :D (I have an entire  folder of bookmarks dedicated to TSL :P) I was looking around at it a while ago, particularly the Four Winds.

OMG, I miss the four winds so much! I used to love that! AND YOU MUST SHOW ME THESE ARCHIVES! XD Wow, major nostalgic thread... XD I did NOT expect that coming... XD

Archive
It doesn't work if you try to go to the home page, so that's what I have bookmarked.

I remember that website too! XD Wow...serious nostalgia there. The Four Winds was half the reason I came to the website. XD

Such fond memories of that site. I remember visiting it often. I also used it as a reference quite constantly. I think I used it to help me in creating my website.

Oh, the memories.... There was another website from the previous team, don't know how long it was active for or if it was ever updated. I know it was like 3 links (About, Project, Contact or something) and no forum!

Do you mean this light blue site?  I wasn't around back then, but found an archive of it a while back.  It seemed to have the very basics.

Yeah, I never visited that one, but I did see it archived once :)

I think that light blue site was before my time, but it's certainly amazing how many changes this site has been through. At least 4 different site designs, and even more I'd bet... XD

This thread is for memories of the past of TSL. Discuss freely the nostalgic memories you have on the past of TSL. Discuss the old websites the team has gone through, post archive links or screen shots, or share your own personal experience from the past. You can discuss the (almighty) :suffer: era, and old forumers, old threads that you miss (perhaps an alternative to reviving old threads?) and so much more! I'll start: I miss the :suffer: era! The time when :suffer: ruled the forum! XD So much good memories...

P.S. Feel free to move this thread at your own discretion. I was unsure of where to place it, and thought that perhaps here was a nice place to start. But feel free to relocate it!

Well, I wanted it to go in General, but it doesn't really fit there.

Gosh, memories. I have so many! I remember one posting spree with James, Kimmie, Graham and myself. We would be IMing back and forth and just kept saying "replied to good" or "replied to your thread" etc. I think we shot up about a hundred posts each within an hour or two.

OMG!!! That's so funny! I remember when they opened chamber most recently I just kept changing my nick name every two minutes! No one else was on, just me and I think AAAP. It was so funny. How do you define a posting spree?

I don't have any recollection of what Yonkey posted, but I do remember the one Elessar posted.
BTW, the date it says I registered could be correct since at that time I received a mail asking me to confirm my registration to the 'Unofficial KQIX Forum'. However, that mail was the third sent to the address specifically created for KQIX (which has now been abandoned since it had serious issues with TSL Newsletter). Furthermore, I don't seem to have any mail sent to that address before that third one so I wonder what the first two were... Four Winds newsletters maybe?
However, I agree, apply you people, even if you don't get chosen I'm pretty sure you'll get other benefits coming your way, at times you least expect it, as I have.

I remember when I used to be nice to Cesar :P

A memory that still seems surreal is remembering when Neil ever showed up for a first time in these forums! He started just like you folks, and now he gets hands on everything! Including Cesar's dirty underwear :-X

I define a posting spree as several people on at the same time and they respond to each others' posts right after each other...so that you have about a hundred new posts in the forum in no time at all :P

Hahaha ...what the?! :o :P  But yeah, I know when I first was thinking of registering here, I wasn't sure if I would.  It really came down to how friendly and accepting the community was that made me into a post junkie and eventually a team member. :P

I miss a lot of old forum regulars, each of whom had their own distinct personality, opinion and sense of humour.  It's great that they come back to visit every now and then, but it's just not the same as when they around a lot more.

Well, I'm a forum regular, and I've been here a while... XD And thanks Koko for telling me that! I've probably been on a few sprees myself then... XD

I remember when I went from like, 300 posts to 500 in like, two hours. XD

That's a huge jump for a two hour period! That's like 100 posts per hour... I don't even think I could pull something like that off! XD
I credit all of the sudden post count spikes to Haven, because of all the games that everyone uses to increase their post count. That's why they were invented in the first place... XD

I remember when I never visited the forum too much, and one day I went on and it said Silly adventurer and I was like "Oh sweet! I ROCK!" XD I love it when my rank changes! XD It's such a good feeling to know that you've accomplished a goal you've always wanted to. My goal now is to make it to TSL Groupie. Of course, I need a LOT of posts to do that... XD
