The GOOD: Staying home sick today I got to watch The Aristocats(which I hadn't seen in years and probably only saw once) and Rescuers Down Under...What can I say, I love Disney animated films of the 90s and older, and was definately in the mood for them, feeling better today.
Heh, the older Disney movies were definitely better. Actually the AristoCats just got re-released on DVD, must get it. XD

Hey, I've bought 101 Dalmatians and The Little Mermaid in the last month! I love Disney movies...well, up until Pocahontas. :P
The last month... I got The Little Mermaid a year ago. :P I need to get 101 Dalmatians soon considering it's one of the limited editions.

The only recent Disney movie I like is Lilo & Stitch. XD

Yeah, Sleeping Beauty is the next Limited Edition and then I believe it's back to Snow White in 2009.

Really? They already had Sleeping Beauty! And yes I watched the special edition Aristocats (and Sleeping Beauty today, but I've had it quite awhile)...Did they ever release Sword in the Stone Special Edition? I need that one...

Decided to go ahead and split this.

I wonder if it's any coincidence that we forumers tend to love Disney movies...and the KQ series? :P

Disney+KQ= my childhood... and maybe present too  :P
"Hi Rosella. The bad guys captured me as a kid and I couldn't figure out what was going on until you saved me a few years back. After all your efforts, I couldn't even stay out of trouble for one day and the bad guys got me all over again. My mind is easily warped, so I had no self-control when I turned you into an ugly troll. Then I almost blew up the world with this volcano..."

It sure is my present...And I plan to show my future kids Disney films before they see any of the dumb kids stuff that comes out now so their little minds aren't ruined :P

Considering KQ VII I would say no. It seemed very Disney like. I always wondered whether Disney might buy them. Alas No.

Speaking of Disney special releases, does the "Disney Vault" bother anybody else?
They (Disney) release a DVD and then a few months later lock it up and don't bring it back out until a couple of years (sometimes more) later. Then, they snatch it back up! Wouldn't they make more money by keeping them available to buy forever?
On the otherhand, they certainly are helping eBay, because my last two purchases from eBay were for Disney movies, for the same prices as NORMAL DVDS! I bought The Nightmare Before Christmas and just recently, the Lion King. During Christmas and Halloween, the Nightmare Before Christmas is in SUCH demand that copies are selling on ebay for over forty dollars!
Oh well, I love old Disney movies (and the new Pixar/Disney movies) and will forever.

And YES I will be sharing them with my future kids before they see the other stuff that's getting produced. Afterall, I was raised on KQ, Disney movies, and computers and I turned out fine, right?  :raf:

I think they the Disney Vault thing is just a marketing strategy.  By making it a "limited time collectors item" it allows them to bump up the price, and avoid people finding their movies in a discount bin somewhere for a fraction of the cost. :P

Heh you certainly did turn out ok.
And I agree, the Disney vault thing IS ridiculous...I think I did miss the release of Sword in the Stone, which means I gotta wait.  :furious:

They will probably rerelease things slowly in Bluray now that it has won the battle.

Or go to eBay. Sword in the Stone is only around 7.50 there right now, and there's even a mint lot which includes Fox and the Hound! There's also a lady selling her daughter's DVDs. I feel sorry for the daughter.
Fox and the Hound was re-released on 2-disc super edition a while a go, too, but I don't know if I should buy it or not (even though it's a great one!). I'm trying to save my cash for a Chumby. Or a new videocamera.

Nah, Sword in the Stone is still out.

The only ones you have to watch out for are the limited Platinum Editions which are released every 6 months and are only in production for that time frame. Also they are re-released every 7 years... I think it's 7 years.

Fox and the Hound is also out, it was just re-released as special edition like the AristoCats.

Anyway, here's a list of the limited ones:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (No longer available)
Beauty and the Beast (No longer available)
The Lion King (No longer available)
Aladdin (No longer available)
Bambi (No longer available)
Cinderella (No longer available)
Lady and the Tramp (No longer available)
The Little Mermaid (No longer available)
Peter Pan (No longer available)
The Jungle Book (No longer available)
101 Dalmatians (Out Now)
Sleeping Beauty (2nd half of '08)

EDIT: Sword in the Stone is being re-released this year, supposedly. That may explain the lack of it in stores, so you may want to hold off on getting it.

Yeah, I got Aladdin at a GameStop used a couple years ago. Disney's so cruel. Making us treasure hunt for their DVDs.

Agreed. I missed The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, now I'll have to wait for blu-ray release. Not that I want blu-ray...

Back when the Lion King came out, we didn't even HAVE a DVD player! :( That's why I snagged it on eBay. $25 though! That money could have been YOURS Disney!

Have to admit, it *is* a clever marketing scheme... Taking something olde, then re-wrapping it up in a shiney, "like new" package.  ::)

I don't debate, I ramble with STYLE!

They also add crappy music videos by "current" Disney stars. Gross. I just want a making of and comentary!
