I would definately recommend the Beauty and the Beast DVD as it has an added song, Human Again from the broadway show, added in, and the animation matches and the song fits well with the movie.

And there IS a special edition Alice in Wonderland, you must have missed it's release...Came out two years ago I think.

I won't assume Disney's going to make a perfect 2D animated film just cause they're making one again. The last one they made was Home on the Range which, I'm sorry, looked so awful I refuse to watch it. I'm just hopeful and crossing my fingers that Princess and the Frog is so very good and does well that Disney becomes interested in doing more 2D films again, much like The Little Mermaid made them strong again for about a decade.

And I think Pixar has been the only company to show real "passion" in their 3D animation. I've seen other companies tries at 3D that are ok, but they're not classics like Disney 2D films or Pixar 3D.

And speaking of other companies, people should really watch Don Bluth films from the 80's. He worked for Disney at one time and then left to do classics on his own like Secret of Nimh, An American Tail, and All Dogs Go To Heaven.

All Dogs Go To Heaven is a great movie. I'm not sure what the sequel is like, but the first definitely felt like a Disney movie and it was just a great move overall.

I liked that the Don Bluth films had a bit of "darkness" to them compared to Disney films too, made them a bit different.

Yeah, recent Disney films are way too light hearted. Darker films are better, and represent real life more closely.

My favorite Disney movie of all time is a darker film, Hunchback. A lot of people consider it to me more of an adult movie than kid's. I wish they'd do more like that. :P

PirateKingChris

Well Tessy, that's SEMI dark, but not dark enough....All the main "good guy" characters in that? They're supposed to be dead at the end.

True XD

A new film from Disney will possibly (if not definitely) be dark.

I would've gone for just Mary Poppins, but as a young lad I did enjoy Robin Hood. :P

Yeah, Mary Poppins would've been my first choice...I don't have it on DVD and haven't watched the video in a LONG time!

Also, I was watching the extras with Enchanted, and one of the older men who did the dance in Central Park to "How do you know?"....he was one of the chimney sweeps in Marry Poppins :P

The DVD of Robin Hood that I have has really bad picture quality. It has lots of digital artifacts..

Just like how Ariel dies in the original Little Mermaid story. XD Disney replace a lot of the sad endings.

Yep they tend to. I like their versions of things though (except the historically inaccurate Pocahontas).
