You are an extremely priveleged individual if you're borrowing a book from me.  The only person I trust completely with my books is my sister, and that's only because she knows how scary I am about them.  On the flip side, I also prefer not to borrow from other people.  It's just too risky!

True. I've lost several good books to friends. My sister and my parents are the only ones I lend books out to. They are easier to get back from too.  ;D

I lend out to a good friend of mine. But that's it! No one else!

Yay! I feel so important! I'm sure I'd lend my books to you guys as well. Sounds like we all have a mutual respect for them :)

Don't you hate it if you lend out, or buy a used book, and on the spine, it's all creased because of how the people read it?

**Shudder**  I remember back in high school, my English teacher made us all take out our brand new copies of "Othello," then told us to open it in the middle until the spine cracked.  I couldn't do it!  I just couldn't hurt my book that way, much less a Shakespeare book!

Doesn't it always go like that with paperbacks eventually? unless you keep reading the' in a V-shape, which does not contribute to reading pleasure.

I do prefer hardcovers 'yself.

I do too.  Ususally when I buy books I only buy them in hardcover.

I decided on the Dragon King Saga, btw, I'm only three chapters in. So far it's good but it lacks some of Lawhead's usual... pizzazz! I'm hoping it'll pick it up along the way. There's potential but right now it's kind of "I'm using every cliche epic fantasy plot device to set the stakes at the start of the novel" -- which works, but it doesn't feel very Lawhead-y, y'know?

I gave up on the book I was reading before. And since I a' dog-sitting at 'y parents house today I raided their book shelves and started reading Deidre written by Wi' Gijssen, a dutch author.
